Good time!!

We had an amazing time! Mykey kept us entertained with his “fun facts” throughout the tour, and Osito was incredibly helpful, making sure everyone made it safely up the rocks. They were both friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was an unforgettable tour that we would highly recommend to anyone. We’ll definitely be back to do it again the next time we return!

Great Guide!

The experience was amazing! The tour guide was very supportive and helpful throughout the whole experience. I brought 2 young children (10 and 12 years old) and was worried for their safety initially but the guide was very encouraging to them and made sure they were safe from beginning to end. Even made a crown of flowers for them. He also made sure to take videos of each person jumping into the water and made sure everyone was safe. I can’t wait to do it again next year. Definitely recommend.

Very interesting tidbits

We had such a wonderful experience with our guide Garret. He studied marine biology in university and had all these interesting facts about the corals and marine animals. Took great pictures and videos for us and kept a watch on everyone and had well timed breaks when people were tired. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful Kayak Tour with a Wonderful Guide!

We had such a wonderful time! Amanda is amazing. Truly a joy to hear her talk about the lagoon and all the wonderful life around it, both plants and animals. It is evident that she loves her birthplace of Puerto Rico and is passionate about preserving and protecting the native plants and animals. Additionally, she had many wonderful suggestions regarding places to eat and sweet stories about life in PR. We went straight to one restaurant she suggested as soon as we were finished with our kayak tour, and it did not disappoint! We saw many large and beautiful starfish, tiny and somewhat larger fish jumping, beautiful birds perched in the surrounding trees, a hint of a sea turtle or two. The manatees were apparently hiding from us, but the trip was absolutely worthwhile, regardless. We'll try again next time we visit!

Best Bio Luminescence experience with Leonardo

Our experience with Leonardo at Vieques Kayaks Mosquito Bay tour was very enjoyable. He was very friendly, humorous, kind, and knowledgeable. We were not only given a pleasant experience with kayaking all the way to the middle of the bay to experience the bioluminescence to its fullest , but also were given lots of information regarding the way it works. He also was able to point out multiple constellations and give us information on how the position and brightness of the moon would affect the glow we saw in the bay. Even though we went closer to a full moon, which makes it a little less bright, we were able to get the experience of what it would look like on a new moon night, as Leonardo provided us with a way to cover the moonlight and experience the bay as it would be on a darker night. This tour was a one of a kind experience and it was incredible to get to see the bioluminescent beauty of the bay and gain knowledge about how the phenomenon occurs from our guide.

Don’t worry about having water shoes. Flip flops are a good option. You will need shoes to walk towards the water, but will be asked to remove them before loading into the clear kayaks. Any bug spray with Deet is a no, no because it hurts the environment. Walking into the water was mushy, so just a warning for those that are sensitive to that sort of thing. The kayaks are 2 person. When we finally got going, looking down at the glass bottom was fantastic. It glowed like glitter as we paddled out to the bay. We had our main guide in the front and another tailing the group.They were both super friendly and helpful. Our tail guide watched to make sure we didn’t float away. The tour was so educational. The guide spoke about the history and science of the bay, but also the stars in the sky. Absolutely beautiful experience! I highly recommend the tour for those that know how to use a kayak or it might be challenging to enjoy. Last note, you will get a bit wet when paddling out and back.

They were knowledgeable, encouraging, and kept the energy high throughout the tour. Their attention to safety and friendly personalities made the adventure even better.
