We had an absolutely amazing time with Tanama River Cave Tubing! From start to finish, Jose and his crew of guides were outstanding knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly passionate about what they do. You can truly feel the care and love they have for their work, the river, and the experience they create for visitors. They were full of fascinating information about the area and its history, while also keeping the day fun with plenty of laughs and great jokes along the way. This was a highlight of our trip, and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Puerto Rico! The Hike is real so be prepared physically and mentally to go up and down some steep cliffs. Cant Wait to come back to do it all over again
Parking: So we were wondering to either uber here or bring our rental but we were concerned where to park. The point located on the map is where you will meet Jose or your other guide and follow them down into the starting point in your vehicle which will be parked on a separate property, it’s just because there’s no cell phone signal that we meet at the maps location. So Glad We Did not Uber

This was such an amazing by tour! The hill was a doozy but had the best time! I had my 12 yr old twins and my 16 yr old. They did amazing! I would definitely do this again!

Let me first say this. The hiking portion of this adventure is not for the weak. You need to be hydrated and somewhat in shape because the hills to get to where you are going are tough. That being said, this adventure was absolutely unforgettable. Our guide Miguel made the trip interactive while giving us so much knowledge and insight into the surroundings. Wading through the river was cool and refreshing. The overhangs of the embankments, the stalagmites, stalactites, the bats, and the hidden caves were just so cool. Tubing was so much fun, and the second portion of the tubing became a lazy river type of experience and the guides didn’t rush you. You got to just float and look up and look at all of the enormous vegetation and rocky features. Finally, we stopped at a medium sized pool where we got to jump from rocks multiple times before heading back uphill to drop off our gear. We even got to eat some fresh Pumarosa which is a Puerto Rican local fruit that is like a mix of a plum and an apple. It was hydrating and delicious and right off the tree. Finally, we were able to shower/rinse off at a provided station at the end and just spend time talking with all of the guides.
Note: DO NOT WEAR WATER SHOES. There are a lot of places to slip and hurt yourself, and lots of large rocks in the river that make wearing water shoes very difficult. Tennis Shoes, or hiking shoes are the way to go.
This is an absolute must do activity for anyone wanting to see Puerto Rico nature and I can’t wait to go back and do it again!

I was advised to follow a pin that would take me to the meeting place, however the pinned location took me somewhere 30minutes from the actual meeting spot. I contacted the individual in charge
Of the excursion and was then directed to the correct meeting location. I advised him it was 30 minutes away and that I was in route. He assured me he would call me back and never did. We traveled 2hours to get there and no customer service. Very disappointed and wasted money on an adventure we didn’t get to experience

Overall, this was an amazing tour where we got to see a part of Puerto Rico most people don't see, in and along a beautiful river that included some really fun tubing. The tour itself was 5 stars! But the transportation from the parking area to the start of the hike was not well run. We had about 40 people on the tour and it took 3 pick-up truck fulls to get everybody to the start. But since there were only 2 trucks, the last group had to wait about 30 minutes for the truck to get back to take us. Same situation at the end of the tour. If that part could be streamlined, the tour would get 5 stars.
Things to know:
- The guides were amazing!
- The pictures the guides took were such a great bonus, since we could all leave our phones in the car and just enjoy the experience.
- Definitely wear gym shoes/sneakers/hiking shoes if you can. We read other reviews saying the same thing and bought some cheapish shoes at Walmart and were glad we did!
- Bring extra clothes for the ride back after the experience. You will be completely wet from the chest down.
- Be prepared for cool water. It's a bit of a shock when you first get in, but feels better as you go along.
- The first and last 15-20 minutes of the hike is arduous, up/down a very steep hill. It's worth it, but just going in knowing it's going to be tough in a couple of spots! The rest of the hike is through the river (in and out of the water) and is really fun.

If you’re renting a car while in PR this has to be something you make time to do! Be prepared for quite a journey. We wore water shoes and although they did their job, I would recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots! Be prepared for a good amount of walking uphill before and after the float. Every bit of hiking is worth it. This is an experience you won’t forget and Omar was a fantastic guide! He knows what he’s doing and I felt like I was in great hands the entire way.

Granted, we were 10 minutes late due to uncontrolled weather in traffic. He gave another group his location, but didn’t give us the location and told her sorry we were late. We were supposed to be here at 8 AM. We followed the group that was also late. The boss seemed a bit biased and racist because we were all African-American, he was more kind to the Caucasians groups on the tour. But I will save the staff. Besides, the Boss are very kind very helpful.
The boss told us to text him our names to receive our pictures for purchase. He never responded. I never expected to be mistreated or neglected, knowing that there Afro decent Puerto RicanPuerto Ricans.

Feel rush well you ware late and not physically prepare for this since we even had to drive you up the hike actually we treated you more VIP than any other guest…
Is this retaliation about you fotos there are on you text. Including the Wendy's foto trash left in the floor. Puerto rican we are the Napolitano ice cream all color or sizes. If feel rush maybe was because your late and in not good physical condition. No t color at all. Wrong opinion we welcome all guest the same they are 500 reviews said how treat guest.

You will have a blast! Please wear good sneakers or hiking shoes. NO water shoes! You will get dirty and most definitely wet! A water proof bag is ideal! Please arrive on time, when one party is late it messes with the tour experience for everyone else!! Our tour guide was amazing. Very informative and helpful! Quite the comedian as well! The end can be kind of strenuous, but if you take your time, it is not so bad! The adventure was more than adventurous it was spectacular!

The Aricebo Cave tour was absolutely amazing! Our guides were amazing as well. Very knowledgeable about the history and the biology. Our main guide was the man!!! His biology degree was evident. He was very thorough on which shoes to use. Make sure to wear the right recommended shoes. Closed toe. The scenery was absolutely beautiful! Go Cubs! Go Puerto Rico! Thank you!!!

The guides were very friendly and kind they didn't leave anyone behind while also helping everyone. An older person in my group was a little slower and they helped her through the ENTIRE trail. Amazing experience to do with the family

Wonderful way to get off the beaten path and explore the beauty and nature of Puerto Rico. Jose, our tour guide, was excellent and took the time to explain some of the history of Puerto Rico and the caves we were exploring. Very informative and our two kids had a blast.

Very unique - guide drives group deep in cave area. One walk up a steep hilll can be difficult 150ft if not in good shape but can be done if go slow. Most difficult part. Sure little swims in cave area not difficult. Must have good clothes, toes shoes since we’ll be walking on rocks in and out of water. If heart good health well worth working out the legs. Wonderful experience! Guides Jose and Caesar were excellent made the experience memorable.

An amazing day filled with making new acquaintances, laughing, seeing an amazing cave system, and floating the river. The hike to and from is no joke, so be ready for a tough walk up and down. But worth every heavy breathing moment! Our tour guides were super! So very nice, informative, and silly/fun.

This was by far the best excursion we have been on! Jose was phenomenal. Be sure to bring sneakers that tou dont mind getting dirty. There is a short but challenging hike in the beginning and at the end.

This was an amazing family experience! We are pretty avid hikers, and have hiked many waterfalls and trails. My family wore water shoes of all types, and we definitely regretted not bringing our hiking boots or tennis shoes. Having sturdy footwear and something to protect your toes is a must! Our tour guides were very kind and showed us the bats in the caves, spiders, and a crawfish (?). They were very helpful in getting us through difficult waters also! I highly recommend this tour and will definitely be back to do it again!

This experience is very robust! Hiking the mountain, through the river, on the banks, through partial and current caves. You are taught about the history of Puerto Rico, the development and history of the area, and about living things in the area. It is very fun but takes quite a bit of physical exertion.

1st and foremost bring snacks and water and bring sneakers not watershoes or crocs. Expect a lot of physical activity. The tour guilds were absolutely amazing and so well versed in the terrain. Would definitely recommend this adventure to anyone.
