Francisco is a Rockstar
I had some nerves about traveling out of the country alone with my tween aged children for the first time. I took time to research and plan our trip, as we wanted a more authentic Domincan experience than just the traditional resort or port stops. Francisco could not have delivered a more amazing experience. From fair pricing and amazing communication, to sharing insights about the city's history, culture, economy, and traditions, we had an amazing adventure to a beautiful part of the world. Top notch service all the way around, and memories that will last a life time. Mi agradecimiento y mi gratitud son infinitos. Gracias.

We had such an amazing...
We had such an amazing time!!! We laughed and had so much fun! The staff was friendly and very helpful! Our guides were Javier and Babyface and our photographer who got us some amazing photos was named Sexy chocolate! I would highly recommend! Make sure to bring some goggles and a face covering or rent them there. I wouldn’t advise wearing white!

Super fun experience!
Our driver was great! Aribel was safe and pointed out sites to us along the way. He was always there waiting on us and even went out of his way to take us to a stop not included, which was amazing. Such nice people at every place. The waterfall was amazing; the guide (Moreno) has been doing it for 30+ years! The hike up was strenuous, and had to take breaks, but they are very patient. Hire a photographer to get fun pics of you! Once you get to the waterfalls, the hike is worth it! Lunch spot was delicious, we enjoyed the authentic DR meal. Totally recommend this experience, our family had an amazing time.

Amazing guides with hiking adventure and fun on zip lines and waterfalls
Wanted to give an honest review of my experience and things I wish I would have known: 1. From cruise port was about a 20 minute walk - people are helpful along the way to make sure you are headed in the correct direction - it was basically a spot on side of highway where they were allowed to pick up (but it was safe) 2. Van with 2 tour guides was very good - nice and cool and bottle of water given upon arrival 3. Once you get to the location to do excursion you will leave all belongings in the van (they were safe) but really you are encouraged to not take anything with you! Our money and everything was safe. You get helmet and life jacket there and are able to use the restroom real quick 4. Water shoes - I would suggest good hiking water shoes - not the cheap ones - so thankful I saw this on a post and got newer ones with support! the hike is rocky and unsteady a 5. The hike! I was a little taken back by the hike - it wasn't just a hike it was A LOT (like around 20'ish) flights of stairs. I was not prepared for this and am currently out of shape to be honest - so this was more challenging for me. I made it but a few things: Be sure to hydrate prior to this excursion (this would have helped me) and I didn't eat much for breakfast and that didn't help either > Thankfully it was shaded so the blazing sun was not on us - which was good!. The guides are VERY understanding and helpful. At one point I felt like was going to throw up and the guide pulled off a tree branch and was fanning me! It was very nice and helpful - I ended up being fine - 4. zip lines - safe and good - 5. Waterfalls- the slides for waterfalls you MUST do (all except one) I mean you have to do them , there is not an option to bypass this -but it was totally worth it and better than I expected! The last waterfall was one you had to jump in or could take the stairs down, but this was the only one you had that option 6. Lunch - our group felt lunch was ok - none of us were crazy about our meal that day 7. Plantation stop on the way back was informing and we weren't there very long - little shop and restrooms there if you need to buy something or use restroom. **You can pay $100 (they took Credit Card) to purchase a guide to take pics of your group through the excursion and they give you a flash drive with everything on it- and we chose to do that! I feel like this is well worth the money.

As the Dominican Republic’s oldest city, you might think Puerto Plata excursions all revolve around history—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. While plenty of options delve into the past at the 16th-century fortress, many showcase the lush natural landscapes of the island. Tackle rugged terrain on an ATV adventure, go horseback riding on trails leading to waterfalls, feel your adrenaline levels soar during ziplines, and then cool off during snorkeling trips and sunset catamaran cruises.
