We were so pleasantly surprised at how well organized and informative--yet personal and fun--the whole experience was! The staff were friendly, respectful, and clearly cared for their sweet little monkeys! We would highly recommend! Our tour guide and driver, Wady, was exceptional in every way! He fulfilled every request we made, and tailored our day to our style 100%! The tour van was clean and comfortable, with plenty of AC to cool off with. If you are looking for a truly personalized excursion, with a well-spoken, friendly, and knowledgeable guide, then don't hesitate to ask for Wady!

The drivers were wonderful! When we got to the monkey adventure park, everyone was wonderful there as well. Not only did we get to see the monkeys, but they took us to a outdoor kitchen, which is a replica of what the native people use in the countryside where they served us their coffee and some hot chocolate. That was very interesting and then we were let around by the sweetest guy, but I can't remember his name and he showed us all the different plants that are grown there and I have never seen what Coco looks like on the inside of a large cocoa bulb. It was so interesting! The only problem I had with the whole adventure was finding them once we got off of the boat. It would be helpful if they said you have to walk through the whole royal Caribbean thing until you get outside where it says taxi.

Private transportation to the venue. Our driver was incredibly kind. My family said this was our best excursion. The monkeys were so cute and the staff tools lots of pictures for us. Well worth it!

Our family of 5 had a great experience with this excursion. Our driver, Wade, was fantastic with great communication via email beforehand, excellent tour information during our transportation, very polite and accommodating. The van was nice/new with great AC. The monkey facility/farm was great with very nice staff. The city tour was also just the right amount of time and once again, great information/communication from Wade. Definitely recommend.

We loved our time with the monkeys. We got picked up in the morning at the cruise port in a van with another family and our guide told us all about the island on the way. Once we got there, we got to try their hot chocolate and coffee and were greeted by two very friendly parrots that they let us take pictures with. We then spent 30 minutes or so with the monkeys who are very motivated by food. The guides took our pictures with the monkeys (every family had a chance) Once we left the monkeys we went to umbrella street for 30 minutes and then back to the port.
This was the best excursion that I’ve ever done and I would do it again if I ever get a chance to come back.

My wife and I's visit was incredible! The monkeys were so cute and friendly! There was a lot of really cool information about how they make their coffee, cigars, cocoa, and Mamajuana! I would highly recommend this tour to others

I would have given it a 5, but the people in our shared excursion, really brought it down. At one point, the driver asks us all what we would like to do/see next. Several of the people said beach, while we wanted to explore Puerto Plata more. Majority rules which is fair, but we only had two people while the other family had five. The tour description did not say anything about there being options to what we do with the time. We would have preferred to just stick to the description. I realize the driver was just being nice and accommodating, but it lessened the experience for us. No fault to our driver/guide, he was wonderful and super friendly and knowledgeable.

Fun experience! Was able to spend a lot of time with these squirrel monkeys. Also, was treated to Dominican Republic, hot chocolate and coffee. Also, took pictures with parrots. Everyone very friendly. Taxi driver, Jose Valenzuela made our trip memorable.

This experience was all inclusive of a visit, to monkey maniac, a trip through downtown with photo ops and a very friendly and knowledgeable driver. The driver was easy to communicate with and on time. Highly recommend!

I was disappointed that Tamera’s wasn’t there to greet us. We were not sure who we were going with. I don’t like the unknown especially in a different country. I also didn’t like that our guide spoke very little English. Juan was very nice but we learned very little about what we saw during the drive. It would’ve been nice to be able to communicate with him. That being said we enjoyed tasting the hot chocolate and taking a picture with the parrot and holding the monkeys. Then we went to umbrella street where Juan walked us around and then on to Pink St and Central Park . He also let us go back to Umbrella St and shop around. All in all Juan was very courteous , helpful and a good driver. I would recommend others to request someone who can communicate.

Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable. He shared information about the area while we were driving to and from the monkeys. And also took us on a walking tour afterwards to visit a few popular spots in Puerto Plata before bringing us back to the cruise port.
The monkey place had their own guides. Ours walked us thru a small wooded area and explained a dozen or so of the important plants and trees that grow on the island and a few small animals. We sat in an open air enclosure to visit the monkeys. They were adorable and fun to watch scampering around from person to person. There was a photographer you could purchase photos from, but also plenty of time to take your own.

The monekys were super cute and a fun experience. Afterwards I felt like I HAD to buy something from their gift shop. I couldn't look without being offered something. The driver barely knew English, and didnt speak once while driving to the monkeys, atleast 39 mins. Would of been nice if he told us about some of the spots we past by. Oh well. Monkeys were cool!

The monkeys were so fun! You start with learning about making coffee and cocoa, then you get to spend about 30mins with the monkeys. Mario was the handler and you could tell he really cared for them. He was very kind when my daughter was frightened by them,

This was a great experience. The monkeys were so soft and gentle. I loved being able to purchase pictures of the monkeys and me. Plus, we were taught about local culture and we were able to interact with Macaws. I love animals so it really made my day.

The monkeys are adorable. They are tiny, under 3 lbs. the do not have claws, they do not bite but they love to jump all over you!!!!! I loved it. My husband and I are in our mid 60’s there were families with little children in our group ranging from 5-12. They had so much fun. 1 child was scared until she held the little ball of fur. Yes!! I recommend this adventure to all that love monkeys

The entire process and excursion were excellent! We were picked up on time at the cruise port in a very nice air condition van. Wadi, our tour guide was exceptional. As we drove through town he explained the local culture as well as the history of the island. When we arrived at the squirrel monkey facility we had a nice tour of the agriculture, animals and of course the squirrel monkey time was the highlight. We did not feel rushed and the staff were very patient. They did a great job allowing us to take as many photos as we wanted. At the same location there was coffee and hot cocoa sampling and a brief informational talk about cigar making. Then we had some time to shop. Unfortunately, due to traffic, we did not have as much time on Pink Street and Umbrella Street, but our tour guide made sure that we had opportunities to stop and take some photos. We returned to the cruise port an hour before Sail Away time which was reassuring. We highly recommend this tour to interact with the squirrel monkeys.

We had a fantastic time. Our driver met us as discussed. We learned about the city and culture before getting to meet the monkeys. The interaction was fun and not rushed. We appreciated that we were never asked to buy pictures etc. A real fantastic day!

Really nice experience. Everyone was very knowledgeable on the area. The monkeys were very entertaining. The people who worked in the gift shop were very honest. I accidentally dropped my wallet and didn’t realize it. They picked it up and returned it to me.

The location was pleasantly clean. The monkeys were fun to play with in their own habitat that you walked into. The pictures that they took were good and priced very reasonably. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’ve got kids. Just let them know ahead of time The monkeys are gonna jump all over them. The guides are in the habitat with you, feeding the monkeys, drawing them to you. The monkeys are fun. They don’t bite. They don’t scratch. They’re really cute. They’ll sit in your hand, sit on your head, sit on your shoulder. The group that were interacting with me, kept trying to take my hair clip out of my hair.
The staff was very knowledgeable and took us into a small kitchen area and talked to us about coffee and chocolate beans, which are both grown there in that area. Then you were offered hot coffee and hot chocolate. Afterwards is when you went into the habitat where they answered tons of questions about the squirrel monkeys.

Such an awesome experience. From the moment we were picked up until the moment we were dropped back off. Our guide at Monkeyland, Gelsy, was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone got to take picture with the monkeys. Our driver, Esteban, was very nice. After our visit at monkeyland, he took us around Puerto Plata. After the stops listed, he even asked us if there was anywhere else we wanted to go.

The entire tour experience was excellent! We were picked up in a very nice air conditioned mini van with just one other couple. Tamares was an excellent driver and guide. Our first stop was Monkey Mania and the squirrel monkeys were the highlight of our trip, DO NOT miss out on this adventure. We learned so much about the squirrel monkeys and had plenty of time to spend with them. They are the cutest ever and very gentle.
After our visit with the monkeys, Tamares took us to downtown where we saw the umbrella street and Independence Square.
Highly recommend this company!!
