Long day but full of culture

Unfortunately our tour was in heavy wind and rain, so that put a damper on things. Apart from that, which obviously couldn't be avoided, there was a lot of driving in between places, and I wished that it was more walking and a more compact experience. Definitely try the hot chocolate at the Chocolate Museum... cannot be misses! So yummy.

Expect to spend between 6 to 8 hours, but it is worth it. The cable car was an amazing experience and beautiful scenery.

The Puerto Plata tour was such a great experience. It had a little bit of everything that the Dominican Republic has to offer. Juan and Carlos were very helpfully, kind, informative and humorous. Definitely recommend it.

Tour guide Carlos was excellent as was were most of the stops. Disappointed by the chocolate tour not much info a short video and no interaction with people there. Otherwise it was very good

If you are looking to blow some time during the day and learn some city history about the D.R. and Puerta Plata, this is definitely it! From the Brugal rum bottling factory at the beginning, to the puerta Plata chocolate factory at the end. We had an amazing, multi lingual, and knowledgeable tour guide, Dan Marino....yes his name was Dan Marino. Good liquor, amazing cigars, beautiful sights, delicious chocolate, and lots of bartering! Be ready to spend money if you want some trinkets to take home...there's some one on every corner looking to earn your business. The chocolate factory and the gem museum had the best deals....never say ok to the initial price..go for at least 25-40% off.

The tour consists mostly of going to factories where you are sold souvenirs and local products at the end. The mountain tour is in the afternoon with an almost 100 chance of clouds so you won't be able to have any view. Just get an Uber or taxi to drive you up the mountain in the morning when you see there are no clouds and just visit the fake town center yourself. Tour guide was friendly but gave very superficial and sometimes wrong info
