The knowledge of the guide (Theo) was top tier. The pace of the experience was also just right. The stops were great.

An all-day, immersive, and moving tour of one of the most important locations and events of the 20th century

The tour guide's passion for the topic is immediately apparent and his historical knowledge is remarkable. The guide makes the tour.

That expression “what you don’t know, you don’t know”describes our experience to the tee1 Jack was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about one of the most important times in world history..
Thanks Jack, you were first class!

This tour was amazing. The history and the knowledge of the guide was next level. We had to fight heavy heavy traffic due to the 80th anniversary crowds and they did a wonderful job.
Cant wait to come back and take more tours with them!

Excellent tour; I highly recommend Overlord. Our guide, William, brought history to life. He was knowledgable, friendly, and enthusiastic. I have a much greater understanding of what happened on D-Day. I was particularly moved by the individual stories of heroism that he shared with us. The tour ran smoothly, I never felt rushed, and we saw so much in one day: Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, St. Mere Eglise, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery, as well as a bridge and a church with interesting histories. The van was comfortable, and our group was a nice small size. Memorable day!! Merci, Gillaume!!

We found all of our tour memorable and, our guide, Theo, brought everything to life with stories and family anecdotes. We couldn’t speak highly enough of Theo. Everywhere we visited was emotive, from Omaha and Utah beaches, Sainte Mère Eglise, La Fiere bridge through to the captivating D-Day story that lay inside the doors to Angoville-au-Plain church.
The tour doesn’t come cheap but we felt we had more than our monies worth.
P.S. wear warm clothing as the beaches can be cold in the autumn mornings

First day we did excellent museums, Churchill Artificial Harbor, D Day Landing museum in Arromachnes, Airborne museum and Utah Beach museum that provided good background information.
The following day we did the tour with an amazing guide who was extremely knowledgeable with wonderful stories. Walking the beaches and the villages, gave an even deeper meaning of what those brave men went through. It was very emotional.

Our guide Adam was very knowledgeable and took time to show and explain things to us. It is almost overwhelming seeing the beaches and the memorial cemetery.

Excellent tour! My husband and I really enjoyed it, our guide Valentine was fantastic! He provided lots of information without it being too overwhelming and was so passionate about the history of his home. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.
Don_J, Sep 2024
Adam is very knowledgeable and provided us with interesting information of what happened in the war there. I would recommend this tour to anyone! It was a full day of great information and visual examples.

We had a wonderful time and tour with Ben! He was energetic, knowledgeable, and didn’t go overboard with the details. I highly recommend this tour.

We did the Omaha and Utah Beach Tour with Adam as our guide and Stephane as our driver. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour. Adam did a great job and was very informative and Stephane safely navigated us to all our destinations. We did this tour over the Band of Brothers Tour because this one seemed to be more of a mix between Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers locations.
Keith_S, May 2024
Our guide, Valentine, was extremely knowledgeable on the particulars of the D-Day landings and campaign. This was an inspiring but also emotional activity. I would recommend it highly to anyone.

Amazing 10hr full day tour, in depth, guide really knew their history.
Stepping onto Omaha beach and spending time to think about what took place here, felt like I was walking on graves.
The American cemetery stretches as far as the eye can see, it’s hard to look at all those crosses, you realize the sacrifice made by so many young men.
It’s quite something to visit all the German gun emplacements with some guns still intact
An amazing tour that shouldn’t be missed

The church where the two medics cared for the 80 Allied and German soldiers. Our guide Adam was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to.

Wonderful descriptions from tour guide, comfortable vans and historic sites. Lunch choices were varied

We had a fabulous trip with Stephen from Overload Tours. Stephen brought this time in history to life and added lots of stories to help us all understand the context and the challenges of the time. He was able to answer all sorts of random questions and elaborated on topics in response to the personal/family histories of several on the tour related to D-Day. We were able to see several examples of these stories including visiting farms where some took of these events actually took place. It was very powerful and memorable. Overall, this was one of the best tours we have taken and much of this was a credit to our guide and the experience of Overlord operations. Would highly recommend!

Our guide - Ben - was fantastic, giving us both the right level of detail and time to explore and reflect. We had an amazing day, learned a lot and visited some off the beaten track memorials. Overlord Tours were brilliant throughout.

We had a wonderful tour with Theo as our guide. This was a thoroughly enjoyable day visiting the sites at the American Landing Beaches, Pointe Du Hoc and Sainte Mere Eglise among other spots. The full day tour started on time (actually a few minutes early as everyone was in the van and ready to go!) Theo was informative and interesting. He had maps and photos that he used at our various stops to enhance our understanding of what happened at each spot. The weather was not cooperative (cold with on and off rain - but it was March) and Theo made sure that we still saw the sights, heard the stories and enjoyed ourselves. I can't say enough about this wonderful tour! We have only been home a few days, and I have already recommended this company and tour to friends thinking of visiting Normandy! Thank you Theo!

Ben did an amazing job sharing the history of Normandy and the Beaches. He was informative and funny!
Alisdair_W, Oct 2023
Tour covered a lot of locations and was good, although the airborne museum time allowance is very generous compared to the museum size, I suspect driven by difficulty in getting food on busier times of year. Guide knew his stuff, couldn’t really fault him. Overlord seem to be dominant company in Bayeaux based tours.
Geoff_G, Oct 2023
Having a true military historian as guide was a bonus - very knowledgeable, and took some joy in dismembering several so-called ‘facts’
Andrew_R, Sep 2023
This is my second tour with Overlord Tours, and it was even better than I remembered! Interesting, moving and amazing.
joseph_s, Sep 2023
Excellent tour. Excellent guide. Tour went beyond my expectations. Fredric, our guide, did a great job. He explained everything that we saw on the tour. He also took us to smaller places that had significant impact on the success of the invasion. His explanations were very thorough. We could not have had a better guide.
Paul_D, Sep 2023
Antoine was extremely knowledgeable about the context of the invasion and the specific. He had some great stories that lent individual detail. There was never a moment that was not used for him to discuss the landings.
Albert_B, Sep 2023
Our guy, Antoine, was superb. If one is a taking a tour, Antoine is guide. He humanizes the experience which enables one to relate to the events of 1944. It is a trip that the younger generation needs to take in order to appreciate the sacrifices.—and Antoine is the one to elicit that understanding from them.
