A fabulous museum tour
This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Eliana was an amazing guide! She knew so much about Pompeii and the collection in the museum. It was simply wonderful to be with her and share in her knowledge.

Don’t by skip the line tickets for this museum!!!
Be sure and check your email for for your tickets. It would be so helpful to get them them right away instead of a voucher. Nobody met us at the museum so we paid again and hadn’t checked email since they were supposed to be at the venue. Waste of money!!!!

Just book it - an incredible tour with Eliana
Wow - Eliana was amazing! After the tour our boys (23 and 17) said she was one of the smartest people they had evert met. We met at the museum at 4:00 p.m. for a 2-hour tour. We had been at Herculaneum earlier in the day, which gave us a solid starting place and Eliana just took it from there. It was incredible to see the artifacts from Herculaneum as well as ones from Pompeii (which we did not visit.) Eliana made it all come alive. Highly recommend.

Wonderful informative tour, a must see with a great guide.
We had Fabio as our guide. He was wonderfully informative and we gained so much information which made our trip to Herculaneum even more meaningful. He helped us put the items we saw into historical context. The museum is very large and he helped us navigate it. We are older, I use a cane and we appreciated his thoughtfulness in matching our pace. We highly recommend this tour and Fabio in particular.

It looks a little...
It looks a little neglected from the outside but is magnificent within. If you’ve been to Pompeii or Herculaneum before then this will add another dimension to what you’ve seen. Hundreds of giant statues, mosaics and frescoes from these sites are hugely impressive. There’s a couple of animations to enjoy but mostly it’s a case of wondering around. Free lockers for any luggage, a cafe and small shop for souvenirs complete the experience.

This is a gem!
Pierluigi is perfect! The best private guide ever: there are guides that are deep experts and guides that are very likeable and fluent in their presentation; but seldom does one find all those qualities merged into one.

Excellent guide and tour
Ilaria Fiore was our guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Her English was very good and we really enjoyed the presentation. Her background as a native of Naples with a PhD in Archeology, plus her work in the excavations shown in the museum made her uniquely able to convey the information clearly and thoroughly. If you want a personalized, guided tour of this phenomenal museum, we highly recommend this person as your guide.

A Must
Don’t miss out on this museum. If you visit Pompeii and enjoyed, this is a must. This is a world class museum and our guide Michele brought all the artefacts alive for us. Superb.

Visual & Historical Knowledge
Our guide Martina did an expert job of leading us through this very large museum & provided so many historical details & stories. We would have wandered aimlessly without her. Going here before visiting Herculaneum & Pompei really helped prepare us for our visit there.
