I visited Mumbai for the first time on a business trip and decided to make the most of an extra day by taking a half-day sightseeing tour. Having always trusted Viator, I booked this tour, and I can honestly say it was one of the most informative tours I have ever experienced! A huge thank you to my incredible tour guide, **Ms. Shalmali**, who made the experience truly memorable. She was exceptionally well-prepared and brought along a picture book to explain the history of each site, including photographs showing how these places looked many years ago. I later learned that she is a History graduate, which certainly explained her depth of knowledge and passion for the subject. She was also extremely polite, friendly, and approachable. Honestly, I feel I learned more about India's rich history during those 4–5 hours than I had in the previous 40 years of my life! Even as I write this review a couple of days later, I’ve already shared the pictures of the sights with my 6- and 8-year-old daughters and told them the fascinating stories behind each place. That’s how much I enjoyed and valued what I learned during this tour! A special mention to our driver, **Dildar**, who was equally pleasant and ensured a safe and comfortable journey throughout the tour. Elephanta Caves explained by an islander

It hardly gets more authentic than this. Shruti accompanied me on the ferry and told me many details about the harbor and the surrounding structures and islands during the crossing. Manoj was my guide to and inside the caves. Detailed stories about the sacred caves and the sculptures, both religious and historical, were just as much a part of it as tips for the best camera angles for taking photos. Because he is a local islander, I also learned a lot about the island, its inhabitants, and its infrastructure. A fantastic tour with Shruti and Manoj that you shouldn't miss!

We had such a great time on our Mumbai street food tour, and Rohan really made the experience. From the moment we met him, he was friendly, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. He had a great way of sharing interesting facts and stories about Mumbai without ever making it feel like a history lesson! Rohan was also really helpful throughout the tour and made us feel completely at ease. He took the time to explain what we were eating, where it came from and why it was so popular locally. His enthusiasm for Mumbai and its food was infectious, and it was obvious that he genuinely enjoyed showing people around his city. The food itself was fantastic. We tried a great selection of street food, including things we probably wouldn’t have chosen ourselves, and everything was delicious. It was a brilliant way to discover some of the flavours and food traditions that make Mumbai so special. What we particularly enjoyed was how relaxed and personal the whole experience felt. It didn’t feel like we were simply following a guide around, it felt like we were exploring Mumbai with someone who really knew and loved the city. We had an amazing full-day tour in Mumbai today with the same great team throughout the day. I want to specifically note that they never asked us to leave a review. I am writing this because the quality was genuinely very high and deserves to be recognized. Our guide Ganesh was outstanding — fluent English, very knowledgeable, smart, and engaging. You can tell he really loves his city and knows the history behind every place. He explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. The highlight was the *Dharavi slum tour* — an unforgettable experience. I expected chaos, but it was surprisingly efficiently organized. It’s not about poverty, it’s about hard work, small industries, and incredible entrepreneurship. Very eye-opening and done in a respectful way. Our driver Mohammed Islam was also excellent — very safe driving in Mumbai traffic, which is not easy! The car was clean, with good AC. It’s not brand new, but very well maintained and comfortable. The whole excursion took about 6.5 hours and we covered every single attraction mentioned in the program. Be ready to walk — we did around 9,000 steps, but this is the best way to really see more.
