Bucket list item - check!
A full day experience. It's tiring, but worth it. Very well organized and a lot of fun. A few things to note that I wish I knew before. - The balloons are huge, and there are more than 20 people on the ride. Your group is placed in small sections of 4-5 adults in each. There's not much room to move around. - The vans are a little old and very bumpy, especially in the back. If you get car sick, be careful. - The "bread and coffee" before the balloon ride - it was muffins (with NUTS), cookies, and sweet coffee. FYI, in case you have to watch your sugar intake or have food allergies. - It's cool/cold in the morning, especially while waiting for the balloon to fill up. While in the balloon, it's windy, but the heat from the fire is also hot. It gets very warm during the late morning pyramid hike. LAYER your clothing, and bring a hat/sunscreen for the second part of the excursion. You can leave your items in the van at each stop. Note, you're not allowed to bring anything on the balloon, even a small purse. - The breakfast at the cave is beautiful and delicious (chilaquiles or omelets). They have vegetarian and vegan options, too. Just ask. - During the market/mezcal tasting. If you like the Obsidian stone items, purchase them there. I thought I could find it back in CDMX, but I couldn't find it easily in the city.

A Wonderful Coyoacán & Frida Kahlo Experience with Maria
Maria gave an outstanding tour of Coyoacán and the life of Frida Kahlo. She was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the history of the neighborhood and its cultural significance, which is rare and refreshing. She brought the streets of Coyoacán to life with fascinating stories about its colonial past, artistic heritage, and how it became one of the most charming areas of Mexico City. Her explanations were engaging and easy to follow, with just the right balance of historical detail and local insight. The portions about Frida Kahlo were especially memorable. Maria shared thoughtful context about Frida’s life, art, relationships, and lasting influence in a way that felt personal and human rather than the usual recycled trivia people cling to like souvenirs. She was organized, friendly, and happy to answer questions throughout the tour. If you want to understand both the spirit of Coyoacán and the legacy of Frida Kahlo, Maria is an excellent guide. Highly recommended.

Visiting the Teotihuacán ruins
Visiting the Teotihuacán ruins is an awe-inspiring day trip from Mexico City that feels like stepping back into a massive, ancient metropolis. Known as the "place where the gods were created," this UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its monumental architecture and mysterious origins

Ilse our guide was...
Ilse our guide was amazing. Very knowledgeable in informing us of everything we needed to know about Teotihuacan. On the way there she would pinpoint out anything significant that may be of interest to travelers. Special mention to our driver. Whose name I can't remember. He got us there and back to the hotel safely.
