This was such a fun way to get to know the culture in a new city, through the lens of food. Johanna was not only knowledgeable about the dishes, the ingredients and the chefs behind them but also about Mexican culture and the Roma Norte area acting as a true tour guide. While the tour was 4 hours, it flew by and felt like a perfect pace between all the food (and drinks) we were offered at each stop. Would HIGHLY recommend this experience during an afternoon in Mexico City!

Introduces you to good and authentic local cuisine. The guide was kind and informative. It also allowed us to see some great architecture from years gone by.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for joining us in the Colonia Roma Food Tour! We're glad the food and the neighborhood's architecture left a good impression. Discovering local flavors alongside the history of the area is exactly what this experience is all about. Hope to welcome you back soon!

This our was a great way to get introduced to different varieties of Mexican food. Our guide not only took us to the different restaurants, but also explained which region the dished came from. The tour also took us through several beautiful neighborhoods.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for joining us on the Colonia Roma food tour! We love that the regional context behind each dish came through. Understanding where the food comes from adds a whole other layer to the experience and it sounds like your guide made that feel natural throughout. Hope to welcome you back on your next visit to the city!

A well curated selection of Mexican restaurants in the Roma Norte area in a small group with friendly and professional Camilla. A lovely walk around the charming Roma Norte area, along with an interesting overview of the history of the area.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for joining us on the Colonia Roma food tour! Camila will be glad to hear the experience felt both personal and well put together. Roma Norte has so much going on between the food, the architecture, and the history of the neighborhood, and we love that all of it came through. Hope to see you back in the city!

This was one of our favorite tours, we highly recommend it. The Roma neighborhood is full of tree lined streets, beautiful buildings and trendy cafes. We sampled foods from different regions and our guide, Johana, taught us about the different ingredients, the preparation, and the chefs. We tried places we wouldn't otherwise have discovered. We also tried green mole! Yum. Our whole family enjoyed this tour, don't hesitate to book it.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
So glad the whole family enjoyed it! Johana will be really happy to read this. She has a great way of connecting the food to the people and places behind it, and discovering spots you wouldn't have found on your own is exactly what this experience is built around. Green mole is always a highlight. Hope to welcome you all back on your next visit to Mexico City!

Johanna treated us to a delicious, informative tour. Great introduction to the neighborhood and it's culinary fare. Def skip breakfast beforehand. Walking is mild not intense. We really enjoyed it.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Really glad Johana made the afternoon such a good one! The Colonia Roma food tour is designed to feel like a relaxed discovery rather than a workout, and it sounds like that balance came through nicely. Skip breakfast is always the right call. Hope to see you back in the city!

The tour was disappointing. Very little explanation as we walked from one venue to the next. The description mentioned open art gallery and rooftop bar neither of which were included in the tour. Our guide was nice
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Reviews like yours, positive or not, genuinely help us grow and keep improving as a company.
One thing that truly defines the Sabores México experience is the depth of context we offer throughout the tour, from the food and its origins to the architecture and the history of the neighborhoods we walk through. It's something our guests consistently highlight and one of the reasons many of them come back year after year. We're sorry to hear that on this occasion the explanations didn't meet your expectations, and we take that seriously.
Regarding the open air gallery mentioned in the description, we do pass through Plaza Luis Cabrera, a well known public space in Roma where local art is regularly displayed and exhibited outdoors. As for the rooftop bar, that's not something we include or reference in our tour, though cocktails are offered at some point along the way as part of the experience.
We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and hope we get the chance to welcome you back and show you what the Colonia Roma food tour really has to offer when everything clicks. Your feedback won't go unnoticed.

We spent 4 hours touring the Roma Nte area with our guide Camilla. She was great. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with questions and suggestions for the area. We had great food tasting at a good number of locations. We went to places that we would have otherwise never stopped. The food was excellent.
Highly recommend Camilla.

Thank you for joining us! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed exploring Roma Norte and tasting great food along the way. Camila will be glad to know her knowledge and recommendations made the experience even better. Hope to welcome you again for another food tour in Mexico City!

Johana was an amazing guide and it was a wonderful afternoon tasting of Condesa food highlights. One of our best Viator tours.
Damian_H, Jan 2026
An enjoyable walk through the Roma neighborhood with well timed stops at respected restaurants for food and drink tasting. The foods and drinks were delicious and varied. Our tastings included various seafood and veggie tostadas and flautas, interesting and unique tamales and several local drinks. Besides the food and drinks we learned a lot about CDMX history, natives and ways of life. Our guide Tania was pleasant, energetic, knowledgeable and always attentive of our safety and comfort.

Lots of fun and good food. Elba was a wonderful guide both historically and gastronomically. Definitely recommend.
Julian_W, Jan 2026
Our tour guide Elba was very friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. Each stop we got to try multiple things, none of which I would’ve encountered otherwise (all distinctive and interesting dishes). It was four hours long and had a bit of walking between destinations, which I appreciated. My only feedback for Elba is to project her voice a bit louder since it was occasionally hard to hear at some of the busy intersections we stopped at. Will definitely recommend this tour to friends visiting

Great tour: Stephanie was knowledgeable, friendly, and did a great job. Unlike the "street taco" tour we later did in the Centro Historico, this food tour brought us to some more "posh"--posh relative to a street food stand or hole-in-the-wall place--restaurants. More variety, too (from tamales to a vegan taco). If you're staying Roma Norte or Condessa, I would recommend this early in trip (we did ours first full morning in CDMX): Great way to get the lay of the foodie land, helpful for the rest of one's stay (for example, we returned to one of the restaurents for a full-on dinner). Highly recommend.

Elba was a wonderful tour guide, very knowlegeable and friendly, and she took us to some wonderful spots. Gave us a great overview if Roma Norte as well. Highly recommended.

A lovely, relaxed food tour. Mariana brings lots of positive energy and got the group engaging with each other. I really got a feel for the regionality of Mexican dishes.
Inas_A, Dec 2025
This was such a fun way to explore Roma and all the fabulous restaurant options. Elba was such a terrific guide and provided so much historical and cultural context throughout this 4 hr long tour. Highly recommend. Come hungry - LOTS of food to sample!

It’s hard to know where to start tasting your way through Mexico City, which is why we chose this tour—and it delivered on many levels. We sampled a wonderful variety of small bites featuring traditional Mexican dishes and beverages. In addition to the delicious food and drinks, we learned about the history of Roma and the origins of the dishes we tasted. I especially appreciated that the restaurants we visited were locally owned, small establishments, which made the experience feel authentic and meaningful. Our tour guide was positive and pleasant to spend the day with.
Susan_S, Dec 2025
Our guide, Camila was wonderful and the portions were fine, but I thought much of the food was average. Still, a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Roshni_D, Nov 2025
I was expecting a food tour of authentic Mexican food/ tacos stand. Our guide, Joanna, told us we were going to 6 restaurants- 3 of which she said were closed and she had to choose other ones. Felt like the experience was inauthentic.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate it. We’re very sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations.
As mentioned in the description of our experiences, the Colonia Roma Food Tour, the tour you attended, focuses specifically on contemporary Mexican cuisine. That is why this experience does not include traditional taco stands, street food, or classic Mexican dishes. For guests seeking markets, street vendors, or traditional Mexican flavors, we offer other tours such as our Historic Center Food Tour and our Coyoacán Food Tour, both of which include market visits and traditional tastings. And for those primarily interested in tacos, we also offer our Tacos & Mezcal Food Tour.
Regarding the restaurant changes, we continuously work on curating a selection of restaurants that match the value and culinary style we aim to offer. While we have a planned route, restaurant operations in the city vary, some establishments close on certain days. On the day of your tour, a few restaurants from our usual route were closed. Joanna did not improvise the substitutions; we also work ahead of time to identify high-quality alternatives that maintain the same level of service and gastronomic experience. Those were the restaurants visited during your tour.
We hope this clarifies the intention behind the experience and the culinary focus of this specific tour. If you have any additional questions or comments, we’d be more than happy to address them. Thank you again for joining us, we truly appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you on another one of our tours in the future.

Elba was very informative of all the restaurants we visited. Wonderful experience, very tasty and lots of variety . Would definitely recommend doing this tour!!!!!

This is a really casual, fun and tasty tour. Monse was an amazing guide. She was expert at making sure everyone's needs were met - especially with any dietary restrictions. She gave an excellent overview of each stop and shared historical and architectural stories along the way. She overheard that we were celebrating a recent wedding anniversary and surprised us with a sweet celebratory treat at the end!
Kayla_M, Nov 2025
Great experience on the tour and with our guide Monse! Delicious food and learned a lot about Roma. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our experience on the Colonia Roma Food Tour! Every stop offered something delicious — from tacos and flautas to tostadas and coffee — and each place had a unique story behind it that made the food even more memorable.
Our guide Camila was outstanding. She shared fascinating insights about the neighborhood, answered all our questions, and made sure everyone felt comfortable — even accommodating special dietary needs with ease. The pace of the tour was just right, giving us plenty of time to enjoy each stop without ever feeling rushed.
If you’re visiting Mexico City and want to explore Colonia Roma through its amazing food and local stories, this tour is a must! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time trying all kinds of amazing food and drinks! Tania and Monday were such wonderful hosts and we couldn’t have enjoyed the tour more. The culinary info and the info regarding Mexico City and Mexico in general were so well presented.
Come hungry! Would highly recommend!

Very nice selection of restaurants and dishes - classic, fusion, vegan, showed me a new side of mexican food and I liked it! And our guide Camilla made the experience totally perfect!

The greatest tour!!! Camilla gave the best advice and met so many cool people! Highly recommend this one :)
Lisa_B, Aug 2025
Johanna was a great guide! We went to 5 different restaurants and tasted the most uniquely authentic Mexican dishes. Roma is a creative little piece of the world. Having a great guide helped us understand and try new foods. We would not have had this experience on our own. Highly recommend.
