Perfect Day Trip from Medellin : Coffee Nirvana
Erika my tour guide picked me up at my hotel in a comfortable SUV. We first sampled some amazing street food on the way to the coffee farm just outside of Medellin. We met the owner of the farm Antonio. Erika (who speaks perfect English) first had me sample some of the farm’s amazing coffee using different coffee brewing techniques (fascinating). We then walked up the hill to pick coffee beans off trees and Erika and Antonio showed me how coffee beans are sorted, cleaned, dried and then roasted in the beans we all use. We ended with a wonderful local meal prior to Erika driving me back to the hotel. I highly recommend this tour! Despite drinking coffee almost all my life, I knew little about how the coffee growing world worked and left the tour with more knowledge than most. I bought some beans for friends and family. Erika and Antonio were the best!

A day in Guatape is a nice way to get out of the city.
Great overall experience. The rock climb is worth the view. Take your time. Sit and rest if you need to. An 80 yr old ahead of me did just fine. Boat on the reservoir was nice if it’s a clear sunny day. Meals provided were good. Guatape is a cute town to browse shops. Colorful city. Take a look inside the church on the main square. Was beautiful.

Your tastebuds will be spoiled FOREVER :-)
This coffee tour in Medellín was the absolute highlight of my trip to Colombia. It was an unforgettable experience that completely changed how I appreciate my morning brew. The tour included round-trip transport which was comfortable, and took all the stress out of navigating public transport. The guide did a deep dive into tastings which were incredibly educational. If you are visiting Medellín, this tour is an absolute must-book. Just be warned: your taste buds will be forever spoiled, and you will never look at a regular cup of coffee the same way again!

More Like a Road Trip with a Friend Than a Tour ⭐
If you have the chance to take this tour with Yuly, do it! This was one of the best experiences of my trip and easily one of the most memorable days I had in Colombia. The tour was a very small group-just 3 of us-which made the whole experience feel incredibly personal. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated how welcoming she was. During the drive, she shared the history of Colombia, Guatapé, and the surrounding area, but it never felt like a lecture. It felt like a conversation with a new friend on a road trip! Climbing the rock is definitely a workout, but the views are absolutely worth it. Getting to Guatapé early was another highlight because we were able to enjoy the colorful streets before the crowds arrived. Yuly’s passion for the town, its history, and its people made every stop so much more meaningful. She also gave us fantastic lunch recommendations and introduced us to local fruits that I probably never would have tried on my own. The coffee farm was the perfect way to end the day. It was a small family-run farm, and you could immediately tell how much Yuly cares about the family and the work they do. Laura welcomed us so warmly, and we had so much fun learning about the coffee-making process while getting hands-on throughout the experience. It was educational, authentic, and full of laughter. While it is a long day, every minute is worth it. If you’re looking for an authentic experience that goes beyond sightseeing, I can’t recommend this tour- and especially with Yuly- highly enough!
