Perfect Day Trip from Medellin : Coffee Nirvana
Erika my tour guide picked me up at my hotel in a comfortable SUV.
We first sampled some amazing street food on the way to the coffee farm just outside of Medellin. We met the owner of the farm Antonio. Erika (who speaks perfect English) first had me sample some of the farm’s amazing coffee using different coffee brewing techniques (fascinating).
We then walked up the hill to pick coffee beans off trees and Erika and Antonio showed me how coffee beans are sorted, cleaned, dried and then roasted in the beans we all use.
We ended with a wonderful local meal prior to Erika driving me back to the hotel.
I highly recommend this tour! Despite drinking coffee almost all my life, I knew little about how the coffee growing world worked and left the tour with more knowledge than most. I bought some beans for friends and family.
Erika and Antonio were the best!

A day in Guatape is a nice way to get out of the city.
Great overall experience. The rock climb is worth the view. Take your time. Sit and rest if you need to. An 80 yr old ahead of me did just fine. Boat on the reservoir was nice if it’s a clear sunny day. Meals provided were good. Guatape is a cute town to browse shops. Colorful city. Take a look inside the church on the main square. Was beautiful.

Your tastebuds will be spoiled FOREVER :-)
This coffee tour in Medellín was the absolute highlight of my trip to Colombia. It was an unforgettable experience that completely changed how I appreciate my morning brew. The tour included round-trip transport which was comfortable, and took all the stress out of navigating public transport. The guide did a deep dive into tastings which were incredibly educational. If you are visiting Medellín, this tour is an absolute must-book. Just be warned: your taste buds will be forever spoiled, and you will never look at a regular cup of coffee the same way again!

More Like a Road Trip with a Friend Than a Tour ⭐
If you have the chance to take this tour with Yuly, do it! This was one of the best experiences of my trip and easily one of the most memorable days I had in Colombia.
The tour was a very small group-just 3 of us-which made the whole experience feel incredibly personal. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated how welcoming she was. During the drive, she shared the history of Colombia, Guatapé, and the surrounding area, but it never felt like a lecture. It felt like a conversation with a new friend on a road trip!
Climbing the rock is definitely a workout, but the views are absolutely worth it. Getting to Guatapé early was another highlight because we were able to enjoy the colorful streets before the crowds arrived. Yuly’s passion for the town, its history, and its people made every stop so much more meaningful. She also gave us fantastic lunch recommendations and introduced us to local fruits that I probably never would have tried on my own.
The coffee farm was the perfect way to end the day. It was a small family-run farm, and you could immediately tell how much Yuly cares about the family and the work they do. Laura welcomed us so warmly, and we had so much fun learning about the coffee-making process while getting hands-on throughout the experience. It was educational, authentic, and full of laughter.
While it is a long day, every minute is worth it. If you’re looking for an authentic experience that goes beyond sightseeing, I can’t recommend this tour- and especially with Yuly- highly enough!

Guided walking tour with a local
We had a very insightful and laid back experience with Carlos in a group of 12. He had amazing energy and explained the historical background of the district. We learned a lot, and tasted local street food along the way. I definitely recommend booking this trip if you are in Medellin.

Lovely time on the farm!
Isa was an amazing guide. She created an informative, engaging, and fun atmosphere throughout the experience. She was also incredibly accommodating to my 75-year-old mom, making sure she was comfortable and able to fully enjoy the tour.
We learned so much about coffee! From its cultivation and processing to the brewing methods that bring out its unique flavors. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time in nature while still being close to the city, which made for a relaxing and memorable experience. Isa’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for coffee AND people, made the tour both educational and enjoyable.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning more about coffee, exploring a beautiful setting near Medellin, and spending time with a fantastic guide.

Book it now!
We had so much fun on this experince. Our guide Melisa was a dream. It felt more like we were spending time with an old friend than a tour guide. She was on time and made sure everyone was comfortable every step of the way. She was very knowledgeable, funny and over just a fun time. She kept us laughing and did an amazing job educating us on this history of the area and the coffee making process. The people at the coffee farm treated us with so much warmth it felt like being amongst family. I would highly recommend this tour. It is beautiful, well rounded and we ended up meeting some of the nicest people we have interacted with since coming to Medellin.

Best way to explore the city.
★★★★★ 5/5 Stars
This bike tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Medellín and, in my opinion, the best way to explore the city. Riding through different neighborhoods gave me a much better understanding of Medellín’s culture, history, and daily life than I would have gotten on my own.
A special thanks to Ronald, our guide, who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing his city. He provided great insights at every stop, answered all our questions, and made the entire experience both fun and informative.
The route was well planned, the bikes were in great condition, and the local snack and coffee stop were excellent additions to the tour. Everything was organized professionally from start to finish.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellín. If you want to see the city beyond the typical tourist spots and learn from a fantastic local guide, this is the tour to book! 🚴🇨🇴☕️👏

Samuel was a great tour...
Samuel was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable. It was the first time for me and my brother doing this tour.
And even tho we are not big coffee drinker it was really good to learn the difference between good coffee and the bad one. Horseback riding was also alot of fun and definitely recommended this tour.

Exquisite Experience!
Our family of six had a spectacular time visiting this farm with Carlos as our guide. In addition to being a walking encyclopedia on the topic of coffee, he knows Medellin and was able to help us better understand the city as he drove us to and from the farm. The experience of better understanding coffee - from seed to processing to tasting - exceeded all of our expectations. Every step of this tour was given with exquisite thoughtfulness and care. I think part of that comes from doing it again and again and having had the chance to perfect it, but for us we felt like the first and favorite customers ever - not a hint of being part of a touristy grind. Carlos and Juan Pablo, who assisted Carlos once we got the farm, seemed truly enthusiastic to share their passion for Colombian coffee with us. Also, this farm is in a breathtakingly beautiful location. I don't think any of us will ever look at or taste coffee the same way again. Be sure to bring plenty of cash so you can buy their products (which they never pushed, we inquired and bought) as well as to tip. We left this tour high on coffee and life. Truly a highpoint of our trip. Thank you Carlos, Juan Pablo, and all at the farm!

Terrific tour! Relaxed...
Terrific tour! Relaxed pace and customized experience. Daniel was our tour guide and he was fabulous and entertaining! He put the sites and communities into historic perspective. He tailored the stories based on our interests. From the rise of modern day Medellin to the local lore around Parroquia La Veracruz, we were thoroughly entertained.

This was the most amazing...
This was the most amazing and educational experience! Guillermo picked us up at our hotel and through out the drive offered us insight into the region, pointed out sights, etc. Once we arrived, we were met by our guide Mateo. Mateo is incredibly knowledgeable not only about coffee, but about agriculture in general. He is a natural teacher, and made the learning very interactive. He did not push or try to sell their coffee as the best coffee ever, although for my taste it is and I bought three bags to bring home. This tour completely changed how i think about coffee and how I will buy and consume it.
The lunch was incredible, and I highly recommend trying the dessert options offered.
Overall, this was one of the best experiences we had not only in Medellin but in our lives in overall. Highly recommend!
