We had an amazing experience with Don Antonio. It is everything we sought for in a coffee tour. I highly recommend!

Erika my tour guide picked me up at my hotel in a comfortable SUV.
We first sampled some amazing street food on the way to the coffee farm just outside of Medellin. We met the owner of the farm Antonio. Erika (who speaks perfect English) first had me sample some of the farm’s amazing coffee using different coffee brewing techniques (fascinating).
We then walked up the hill to pick coffee beans off trees and Erika and Antonio showed me how coffee beans are sorted, cleaned, dried and then roasted in the beans we all use.
We ended with a wonderful local meal prior to Erika driving me back to the hotel.
I highly recommend this tour! Despite drinking coffee almost all my life, I knew little about how the coffee growing world worked and left the tour with more knowledge than most. I bought some beans for friends and family.
Erika and Antonio were the best!

This was fantastic. The whole experience! The family farm felt so welcoming and safe. The coffee was truly excellent- was shocked at the flavors. Our tour guide, Alejandro (Andres) was knowledgeable and fun and kind. I can’t say enough good things about this coffee farm tour. Just have to do it yourself and see. Perfect duration as well.

An absolutely brilliant tour. The expert guide really knew his stuff. The coffee tasting made it even more pleasurable.

AMAZING. I have a new found appreciation for coffee. The details and hand on experiences shared in this tour was very enlightening to the hard work that creating a fine cup of coffee takes. Wear pants and long sleeve shirt to protect from mosquitos.

I have done a lot of viator tours and Sara is one of the best I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, engaging and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time. Eg she drove us to a grocery store to get alcohol on the way back because it is Ley Seca. I strongly recommend doing this tour and working with Sara. 100% worth the money, time went spent and overall enjoyable.
Fyi I do not drink coffee and I actually drank coffee for the first time on this tour. The coffee is that good!

It was a wonderful experience. Sara made me feel really comfortable and gave a detailed tour of the farm. Highly appreciated the tour and would recommend to anyone visiting Medellin

We had a terrific experience with Alejandro! He communicated with us in advance to coordinate pickup and proper attire. At the coffee farm, he worked very effectively with the staff to give us a fantastic introduction to the world of coffee, its growth, different types, flavor profiles, and of course the process from planting to harvesting to washing to drying to roasting to final brew. We were able to sample different variations and use different brewing techniques. We never felt rushed. He took great photos of us at the farm as well! As an added bonus we could practice Spanish with him and the staff. We left with multiple souvenir bags of coffee for friends and family and look forward to our next trip back to Medellín!

My friend & I signed up for this tour on a whim.
We were picked up at our hotel, and driven directly to the farm by our guide, Sara, a local Medellín citizen. Sara told us all about the city and unique neighbors as we drove through them, making the series incredibly interesting.
Upon arriving at the farm, we met its owner, who was remarkably friendly. We spent hours tasting his families unique and delicious coffees, as well as having the chance to put on a real working outfit (sombrero, authentic cloth poncho, and boots) and pick coffee beans fresh from the vines on the serene heals of Medellín. Our guide, Sara, accompanied us throughout, translating and answering questions and taking pictures of us.
After picking the beans, Sara and the owner of the farm took us through each step of the coffee-making process, walking us through all of the farms unique buildings and showing us how each machine worked and WHY it worked, while speaking to the history of the coffee beans and its cultural significance.
Never once did it feel like we were rush or in a schedule. It was incredibly relaxed, moved at our pace, and felt like we were guests in their home, rather than tourists.
10/10 tour, 10/10 guide. I couldn’t recommend this experience more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour at the Bosques de la Doctora coffee farm on April 30, 2026 - Sara is an outstanding guide! Warm, effervescent, engaging, & very informative, Sara provided us with an in-depth exposure to the entire process of coffee farming. From seed to seedling to shrub. From cherries to beans to drying to roasting and brewing... every aspect is covered. Also, the
"Aborrajao" we were served was delicioso! It's a dish made with ripe plantains, guava paste, & 2 kinds of cheese. It was the single best thing we had to eat on our whole 5 day trip to Colombia.
Our time at this Sabaneta “finca” was a rich, full-bodied experience! Thank you Sara, and the entire crew at Bosques de la Doctora.

Amazing experience and peek into small coffee farming in the beautiful hills outside of Medellin. Our favorite part of our visit.

The excursion with Andres to the family coffee farm just outside Medellin was a perfect excursion. As a coffee enthusiast myself, we tasted how different brewing methods affect taste. Andres explained the key aspect of coffee production as we roamed the beautiful mountain of the coffee farm and the production facilities. Andres provides clear explanations along with the tactile connection of walking around the farm. An added treat was trying the producer’s newest coffee bean creation (he’s regularly making experimenting). I whole heartedly recommend this tour!

Great day spent learning about coffee history, production and quality. Highly recommend. Daniel was a fun and knowledgeable guide. The coffee farm we visited made for an authentic experience.

This was an amazing coffee tour experience. We were picked up a the hotel by Erika, who was wonderful. She shared her knowledge of Medellin as we headed out to the coffee farm. Once at the farm she shared her knowledge and love of the coffee making process and the importance of the coffee farms to Columbia. We picked beans and then were walked through the process of getting from planting to our coffee cup! It was really amazing tour. We were a group of five and all of us enjoyed it. We ended with a coffee tasting where we tried different coffee making methods. Truly wonderful morning!

The trip exceeded our expectations. We would particularly like to highlight the guide. Esteban speaks excellent English with clear pronunciation. He has a wealth of knowledge and knows how to convey it to us laymen in an understandable way. He also has extensive knowledge of Colombia, its history, politics, and culture. This gave us valuable insights that went far beyond the topic of coffee.
The description of the coffee farm was interesting, comprehensive, and provided a good basic understanding. The atmosphere was friendly and rather informal. At no point did we feel that we were being presented with a standard program that had been repeated a hundred times before.
We are more than satisfied and would like to thank everyone involved.

My review:
We had an incredible private coffee tour in Medellín with our family, and it exceeded all expectations. The experience was extremely detailed and educational—we learned so much about how coffee beans are picked, the full coffee-making process, and what truly differentiates one coffee from another. Visiting a family-owned farm made the tour feel authentic and personal, and the hospitality was outstanding from start to finish.
Our guide, Alejandro, was absolutely wonderful. He was kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about coffee, and he took the time to explain everything in a way that was engaging. He truly made the experience special and memorable for our entire family. This tour was a highlight of our time in Medellín, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and authentic coffee experience.

Laura was absolutely fantastic! She planned our day perfectly: we started with Comuna 13, then enjoyed lunch at a beautiful farm, and after that we continued with an amazing coffee tour. Highly recommend Laura for anyone looking for an authentic, well-organized, and memorable experience!

Sara was amazing! So full of energy, knowledge and excitement. She made the whole experience worthwhile. You get to visit a beautiful family owned coffee farm that is 100% organic. You see the whole process and take part of the beans picking. You also taste different coffees made using different methods of distillation. Highly recommend

We had Sarah as our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. We had a private tour with just two of us and it felt more intimate and left room to ask more questions. It also rained when we were there, but Sarah had ponchos, boots, and jackets ready for us. She is very friendly and very informative. Anyone thinking of this tour will learn a lot and be guided by an amazing tour guide.

We had a fantastic time with Sara at the coffee farm! She taught us so much about coffee as well as culture & life in Medellin. Thank you very much and we are looking forward to checking out some more tours.
