Our trip to Tamarind...
Our trip to Tamarind Falls was absolutely fantastic and definitely one of the highlights of our vacation in Mauritius!
Our guide was outstanding. From the very beginning, he created a wonderful atmosphere and showed great patience throughout the entire hike. He even treated us to fresh exotic fruits and delicious local food, which added such an authentic and special touch to the experience.
One of the best parts was that he took photos of us constantly at all the best spots! It allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in the breathtaking nature without worrying about our phones, and we ended up with amazing memories captured on camera.
Summary: We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Mauritius. Don't miss out on this incredible hike!

Sameer was amazing very...
Sameer was amazing very friendly and knowledgeable. He was happy to go at our pace and when the Alexander falls and panoramic view point were closed suggested we try again at the end of the tour, which then was open so we got out full tour. Thank you Sameer and we would definitely use and recommend you again.

Comprehensive, Informative & Well-Presented
It is a comprehensive tour, but is quite time-sensitive, so there isn't always time to deviate from the itinerary. We wanted to shorten time at some places in order to visit Rhumerie de Charmarel, but it wasn't possible, due to us needing to be at lunch by 14h00.
That being said, our driver, Vikesh, was amazing. He shared much of the history of Mauritius with us, taking us to various sights, and was happy to take photos of us at some of the sights. He also kindly took us to a local souvenir shop where we were able to sample some local rum because we weren't able to visit the Rhumerie de Charmarel. We bought a few souvenirs (including rum).
Vikesh picked us up at our hotel (which is about an hour from Charmarel where the tour starts). We firstly went to Charmarel Waterfall, and the Seven-Coloured Earth park where we saw giant tortoises. There is a small eatery in the park if you're thirsty or feeling peckish.
From there we went to the Black River Gorge where we saw another two stunning waterfalls (Black River Gorge & Alexandra).
After that we went to Grand Bassin where we saw the 30 meter high statue of Shiva, and then onward to the temple where we got to see various statues of Hindu deities. Travellers are allowed to enter the temple but need to remove their shoes and women are required to cover their shoulders and knees. We opted not to enter the temple, but just soak up the atmosphere. We saw some monkeys too - one stole a little girl's banana that she was offering to one of the gods.
By this time we were quite hungry and treated to a traditional Mauritian-style meal at Ebony Table d' Hote, which was absolutely delicious! It consisted of three courses, and a soft drink or water. Alcoholic beverages are available at extra cost and are reasonably priced (in comparison with what the resorts charge).
Last stop was Trou aux Cerf - the volcanic crater which is now filled with the most luscious plant-life.
On our way back to the hotel, I asked Vikesh if it would be possible to stop at a local store to buy a brand of beer not available at our accommodation and he happily obliged.
All in all, this trip was well worth what we paid for it. Highly recommended!

Awesome trip!!
Asif from Chucky Taxi was our chauffeur cum guide for this trip. A very professional and nice person. Before visiting every place, he provided ample insight about that place. Even while driving, he did provide lot of information about landmarks on the way. He even took us to some beautiful picturesque places and helped in capturing it the lenses. Overall, an awesome trip!!
This was the second trip we undertook with Chucky Taxi and we were happy with both the trips. Their professionalism and customer-centric approach is truly appreciated.

Great and fantastic trip!!!
Had a great trip with Kishan from Chucky Taxi. We had booked the 10:30 am slot for this tour but well before the trip, Kishan informed us to prepone the trip to an earlier slot so as to ensure that we visit all the places and do not miss any due to time paucity. Kishan was very professional and punctual. Based on our interest, he helped us in suggesting the must-visit places. Overall, a great and fantastic trip!!

Great Day in North Mauritius!
Hans was prompt picking us up and was flexible with the schedule throughout the day. He gave us as much or as little time as we wanted at each location. He was polite, friendly and knowledgeable...and his English was great. He also took us to a fantastic local restaurant. We would highly recommend Hans and this tour!

Great! Highly recommended
Excellent experience. Great communication with operator prior to meeting date and driver was waiting for us outside baggage claim area. Driver was very courteous, friendly and helpful and helped with our bags. Drove us safely to our hotel and helped with bags on arrival at the hotel. Would definitely recommend and will use again if we return to this area.

Friendly, knowledgeable guide, included a history of Mauritius and a tour with a comfortable number of people. We went at a comfortable slow speed and had a bit of free time to wander around a market. He checked for food allergies. Thoroughly recommended, thank you.

Wow wow wow! What a view! But a real tough one!
This hike was tough! Thankfully I wore the proper clothes and shoes! Yes, proper shoes are super important! Mat (Mathieu) our guide had to hurry us up a little because rain was coming. Our little group bonded pretty good because we all shared this mission. Unfortunately my wife, who has bad knees and takes heart medication, wasn’t able to get to the top, which the rest of us made it in 2 hours. Since it had been raining, some parts of the path got muddy and slippery. Did I mention that having proper hiking/trail-running shoes is super important? I saw people wearing loafers or fashion sneakers and they were having a tough time. A little more than halfway up, the trail gets really steep and vertical and you’re literally climbing rocks and looking for small ledges to get a hand and/or foothold. Once you get to the cross though, and if it’s sunny, you get an amazing view! You can even see the underwater waterfalls. We only stayed about 15-20 minutes because rain was coming. Our guide Mat kept a close watch on it. As we headed down, rain and clouds were upon us and we rushed down as quickly and safely as we could. Surprisingly, going down was easier than going up. Mat was great in that he made sure we were all safe and we used the proper steps and footholds. We made it down from the top in about an hour.
Overall, the hike was really tough and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights, but the reward (the view) was well worth it. I’d highly suggest getting a local guide. And again, I can’t stress how important having good hiking/trail-running shoes is! Mat is great! We had some laughs and good conversation while hiking. His English is very good and he’s very knowledgeable. Highly recommend him!

We received Exceptional treatment and based on the reviews I would strongly suggest that you Only book with Kevin. Kevin is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, professional and personable. We booked additional excursions with Kevin based on his service and also recommended him to our friends and family. Exploring the south of Mauritius
We went on a private full-day tour of the south of Mauritius with our guide, Sahil.
Sahil was extremely knowledgable and attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good day.
There were lots of highlights from the day.
Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to access the Alexandra Falls, but we did manage to see the Black River National Park later in the day which was amazing. We also visited Grand Bassin which was so peaceful and beautiful, and later feeding the tortoise at La Vanille Nature Park was so much fun (but be prepared for the mosquitoes!)
We finished the day at Valle Adventure Park - would highly recommend the zip lines, a really fun way to see the 23-coloured earth!
We’d highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get a flavour of this beautiful island.

Awesome!
Picked up at 5:00AM because whale viewing has to be done before midday (Mauritius law), but getting up that early was worth it.
There's no guarantee of seeing anything at all, but the company are organised with spotter boats that go out early and then report back so us tourists get the very best chance.
They're also flexible - we were meant to see the dolphins first but that changed when a report came over the radio that whales had been spotted, and we ended up seeing 6 or 7 sperm whales which was amazing.
Later on we also got to see some dolphins - the method here is to park the boat ahead of their course and then for us to jump in quickly and watch as the dolphins swim under us. Then we got back in the boat which caught them back up and repeated.
Obviously we were there for dolphins and whales, but the landscape as we went out to sea with the sun coming up was also spectacular.
