Very well, organized, and managed tour.. Cayda was very well informed of ancient history as well as modern issues. This gave us a great 360 tour as a keen student of history. This was greatly appreciated. They also got us back with plenty of time to return to the cruise ship and do a little shopping in the town.

Filiz was an amazing guide who really made the experience unforgetable!

I'll start with the boring part, the logistics. Communication was tremendous about where to find them. We met at the cruise ship port. They were impossible to miss, and getting back on time was never a worry, they left plenty of extra time in case of something unexpected. Ephesus ruins were just incredible and awe inspiring. The world's best preserved ancient city. It's amazing to think your walking where Julius Caesar and the Apostle Paul walked. Not the same geographic location, on the same stones. While nothing could really follow that, the Turkish rugs were also very interesting, and the demonstration and hospitality was great. Unfortunately, we can't buy one now, but they actually got us to think about it! The Temple of Artemis is kind of a joke. There's only 1 pillar left standing, but hey, you can check it off, you have been to one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. And it you take a simple cell phone picture you will have the 3 faith traditions of Turkey/Asia Minor, so it's cool as a been there, done that break. The merchants are no joke. They REALLY want to sell you something. Be prepared to haggle. It's an art form there. Hate to say it, but if you really don't want to buy something, it's best not to engage them at all, because you are utlimately wasting both of your times, and you WILL buy something. Trust me on that. The best thing however was our guide Filiz, who is a warm, personable and brilliant woman and with us every step of the way. If you're lucky enough to get her, you will have a great experience.

The Perfect Day in Kuşadası with an Outstanding Guide

From the moment we were picked up at the port until our guide walked us back to our ship, everything about this tour was absolutely exceptional! Pickup was seamless, our vehicle was spotless, comfortable, and air-conditioned, and our driver was always waiting for us at each stop. Our guide, a former teacher, was incredible. She was so warm, engaging, and knowledgeable that she kept our daughter's attention the entire day. Her passion for Turkey's history and culture truly brought every site to life. Visiting the House of Mary was such a special experience, and exploring Ephesus was unforgettable. Our guide painted such a vivid picture of what life was like thousands of years ago that it genuinely felt like we had stepped back in time. Her storytelling and historical knowledge made the ancient city come alive. We also enjoyed a delicious authentic Turkish lunch and loved learning how traditional Turkish rugs are made. The demonstration was fascinating, and we really appreciated that there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. It was simply an enjoyable and educational experience. One of our daughter's favorite parts of the day was picking out Turkish delights and experiencing the famous Turkish ice cream show. Our guide happily helped us navigate both experiences, making them even more fun and memorable. She made sure we saw everything on our wish list and even escorted us all the way back to the port, ensuring we had a stress-free return to our ship. This was truly one of the highlights of our Mediterranean cruise. If you're visiting Kuşadası, don't hesitate to book this tour—you'll leave with incredible memories, a deeper appreciation for Turkey's rich history, and an unforgettable day. Excellent tour guide

SIMONE was beyond excellent. There were just the two of us and she was extremely cordial and knowledgeable and willing to take a side trip to a jewelry store and help us with our purchases. We did not see her holding a sign with our name on it at the terminal so we frantically searched the area just outside of the gate that your instructions inappropriately said was the meeting place. Someone guided us back into the terminal and made a phone call for us so that we could meet the tour guide. It was an anxious time because after searching for over 20 minutes we were afraid that we had missed the tour.

Ephesus and Kusadasi: An absolute must see for people who have a passion for a blend of ancient and more recent history

Ephesus: What a mind blowing experience to witness not only a “few” relics but to see such an expansive view of an ancient village and civilization! Our eyes could not believe that level of time and effort that was put into the archeological discovery and reconstruction of such a large area. The one thing our guide could not control was the nearly 100 degree (Fahrenheit) during our stroll through the area. Thankfully we walked primarily downhill from the start to the ending video presentation and museums. The original marble steps and walkways were quite slippery. With this said, our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the community in which she grew up. It was a smooth transition from the ship to meeting her just outside the cruise port gates, to the driver assigned to our private tour all of which made the experience a genuine one of a kind day we won’t forget any time soon! At the end of tour we toured an air conditioned Turkish rug facility and got a first hand education on how rugs are made today, just as they were hundreds and thousands of years ago. Shortly after that experience we sat in an air conditioned local restaurant and enjoyed more Turkish cuisine…which we absolutely loved! As we did on a previous tour, we think the investment in a private tour was worth every penny we spent. If given the opportunity to be guided by Nesli, we think you will enjoy her open and honest communication style as we learned a tremendous amount of history about Ephesus and the Kusadasi region but also about her upbringing in this region. .

Nejdet did a great job for us!

We had a great experience with our driver and guide, Nejdet. Our guide was very informative and did an outstanding job explaining and showing us the historical sites in Turkey such as the Library and House of Mary. He honestly gave us more time than we paid for and we never felt rushed... actually quite the opposite. We finished with an incredible Turkish meal and then gained an understanding of the handmaking rug process which we all found fascinating. I will say that the rug presentation ends with somewhat of a "timeshare" type sales experience (for those that are familiar with timeshare sales in the US). Regardless though the rugs are incredible and we we were all glad to get to experience the presentation while having beer and Turkish coffee. We were also presented with a short sales presentation on Zultanite. A stone I had never heard of. Nejdet made it clear to just say "no" if we weren't interested (which we did). After getting back on the ship, we heard several stories of this nature with the rug sales experience. It seems most all tours/excursions lead back to a rug sales presentation. The fellow presenting the rugs was always nice and respectful and I've always been in and around sales so if didn't make me uncomfortable but some of our fellow cruise guests, on other tours NOT this one, were upset about. I just think it is good to know going in and I have a hunch that there is some type of kickbacks going on to tour operators or at the very least they provide the free lunch there provided you take the tour. In the end this was a 5 star experience and i would enjoy a future tour with Nejdet.

Amazing Experience with Nil!

We had an amazing time exploring Ephesus with Nil. She was very informative throughout our tour. She kept the kids involved and considered the older members of our family as well. She was very kind throughout the trip and we enjoyed learning from her. Tickets for the exhibits were included with our booking so it was very easy to get in and out of places. We did a private tour for our group (highly recommended) that lasted about 5 hours, but could have been longer if we wanted. Nil shifted our route around so that we didn’t have to wait in long long lines at Mary’s House which we appreciated. At the Ephesus ruins, where the crowds were very large, she took the time to navigate us to shade so we could learn the history without sitting in the sun. We also took advantage of lunch at the carpet school and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Do not skip the lunch. It was SO worth it! The carpet school was very neat to see and learn about. We even witnessed a woman’s carpet being sold while we were there. The pure emotion she displayed showed how important it is for their families and culture. So glad we got to experience something so important to them. We enjoyed seeing all the carpets and learning about the materials. They were not pushy or pushing us to buy and we never felt hassled. Overall it was a solid 10/10 and we would most definitely recommend it to others.

Feyzullah our guide was so knowledgeable about all the history of Ephesus and the House of Mary . He explained everything in great detail , even pointing out on a large map places of significance. Great tour with a ton of information! Our guide, Hussein, was so knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend this tour! Be aware that it can get quite hot in this area. If you’re sensitive to heat…bring a hat, umbrella, fan, water. Vehicle had comfortable a/c while traveling!
