Pichwai - the name means ‘backdrop’, literally were decorations placed as the backdrop for the Lord Shrinathji (a form of Lord Krishna) idol. Pichwai paintings have roots in the sacred town of Nathdwara, Rajasthan, which has adorned temple walls for over 400 years, depicting the vibrant tales of Shrinathji, the child form of Lord Krishna. In this workshop, you’ll explore the legacy of Pichwai art, learn traditional techniques, and even create your own painting motif using natural colours.
