Big Buddha Trip

The trip to the Big Buddha was very enjoyable- the cable car ride was about 20 minutes and great views. The guide was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic to share her knowledge. The Big Buddha was very impressive and we enjoyed looking around the fishing village although apparently there are not many fishermen living there now. It was a great boat ride around the village and onto the sea but we didn’t see any pink dolphins. All in all an enjoyable trip.

The tour with Stephen was amazing. We went to hole in the wall places where only locals go, often where they speak no English. We had delicious foods, a good mix of savory and sweet. We made extra stops too, so we had 9 tastings on this trip. Sometimes we ate standing up and sometimes we were sitting down. Stephen has really good communication devices to listen with as the streets of Hong Kong are very loud. Come hungry and do not eat lunch prior to the start of this tour. You will eat a lot, but the walking helps with digestion.

Perfect way to spend your first day in Hong kong

This is the perfect introduction to Hong Kong. I did this tour the very first day I arrived and highly recommend to do this tour early on your vacation. We started in the financial area and learned about the “one country two systems” of Hong Kong, since Hong Kong is still basically under the British system of law, regulation, and trade. We visited Victoria Peak and learned about the old justice and punishment system by visiting the old jail near the midlevels. We had an excellent Michelin recommended lunch and capped off the tour with insight into the different religious institutions of Hong Kong. It was truly and interesting tour and I learned so much! I would say wear very comfortable shoes, it truly is a lot of walking.

Very well organized from start to finish! Everything was thoughtfully arranged and made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. We had an assigned tour guide in Hong Kong who picked us up directly from our hotel, guided us to the bus for Macau, and made sure we were properly handed off to our tour guide once we arrived in Macau. We never had to worry about where to go or what to do next. We had a wonderful time exploring Macau and learning about its fascinating history, culture, and heritage. Our guide, Cisco, was very knowledgeable, informative, and engaging. He did a great job explaining the history behind the places we visited and made the tour much more meaningful rather than simply being a sightseeing trip. The entire experience was seamless, informative, and definitely something we will remember. If you're visiting Hong Kong, I highly recommend taking the time to do this Macau tour. Lantau Island was definitely one of the highlights of our Hong Kong trip! 🚠 The Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride was amazing. The views were beautiful, although I have to admit, there were a few moments when I thought, “Okay… this cable car better know what it’s doing!” 😂 But once you get past that little bit of fear, you can really appreciate the mountains, the sea, and the beautiful scenery below. Then came the Big Buddha… and those 268 steps! 😅 Let’s just say the Buddha was peaceful, but my legs were having a completely different experience. 😂 Standing in front of the Tian Tan Buddha was still incredible and definitely worth the climb. We also visited Po Lin Monastery and walked around Ngong Ping Village. It was a nice change from the busy streets of Hong Kong—more peaceful, surrounded by nature, and a great place to slow down for a bit. Beautiful views, a little adventure, a lot of walking, and a workout we didn't exactly sign up for! 😂 Definitely a must-do when visiting Hong Kong. ❤️🇭🇰

What an incredible experience visiting the Tian Tan Big Buddha! The cable car ride up to Ngong Ping was breathtaking, and standing in front of this massive bronze statue was truly awe-inspiring. We also explored the beautiful Po Lin Monastery and took a peaceful boat ride through Tai O fishing village. If you just want a chilled 40 mins cruise, then go for it... nothing exceptional.. The staff was nice and made sure everyone was comfortable... offer to take pictures too if needed. They offered to drop off at central instead of going back to the starting point, that was nice so I didn't have to take the ferry back to central.

My daughter and I had a great time with Bill who was knowledgeable and interesting. We first visited the wet market, then went to his kitchen where he first demonstrated and then we got a chance to cook….and eat! Everything was delicious! Bill even provided boxes for us to take home leftover food. We would recommend this experience.
