This tour was absolutely fabulous. I always take cooking classes no matter where I go. This one was the best yet. Bill (the owner and chef) was phenomenal. The markets were interesting and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this tour.

My daughter and I had a great time with Bill who was knowledgeable and interesting. We first visited the wet market, then went to his kitchen where he first demonstrated and then we got a chance to cook….and eat! Everything was delicious! Bill even provided boxes for us to take home leftover food. We would recommend this experience.

Gillian, you guys are most welcome! When you have a chance do try the dishes we made. Text me if you have any questions.

Excellent experience. Logistics very well organized, starting from the market tour until the cooking in a master chef looking kitchen. Bill has plenty of stories to tell, lets peope ask and experiment, and can make people feel relaxed and at ease. We will return home with three new dishes to cook. Highly recommended.

It’s always great to get to know a culture through their food, and Pots and Pans provided just that! Bill is very knowledgeable and the cooking studio is well-equipped. Would like to make some more complicated dishes next time!

Fantastic experience, highly recommended! Our guide, Bill, is knowledgeable about Hong Kong and regional culture, history and food. We learned so much through out the guided walking tour and the in-studio cooking session. Bill’s pace was just right for our group, and he provided in-depth answers to our questions.
Bill’s studio is beautifully laid out and clean, and the dishes we cooked were simple yet delicious and included a vegan dish as well. We kept the recipes, so we will be making these again!
Bill even helped with the behind-the-scene with Viator wrt to booking changes. However, Viator customer service seems to be on the slow side, so we worked out that we had to actually cancel and re-book to adjust the number of participants. This is a bit inconvenient as it *seemed* as we could just make booking changes. Fortunately, we had started the communication about the booking changes before the no-cancellation date.
Overall, you will not regret booking this cooking experience!

A great way to experience Hong Kong. Bill gave us an authentic look at the food culture as well as hands on cooking preparation.

Bill made the food tour cooking class really special and memorable. All of the things we cooked were customisable for dietary requirements and Bill even offered some expert opinions for flavour combinations that worked really well. His studio is immaculate and we loved everything about it. Would highly recommend!!

A must do in Hong Kong! Bill was an awesome host, guide and teacher. The experience starts with a short tour around the markets and Bill gives interesting details about how the markets function and the cuisine of Hong Kong. Then you go up to the studio and make some of the best food you’ve ever tasted. Be advised that the dishes are pretty pork heavy, but I do think Bill can make accommodations if you don’t eat pork. However, everything was amazing. He thoughtfully walked us through each step of cooking the meals and gave us tips and corrections along the way. He also made some great recommendations for condiments and ingredients That we can get back home to re-create the dishes. In the end, we had a feast of incredibly flavorful dishes that truly represented the cuisine of Hong Kong. There was so much we had to take some things to go and they only tasted better later on. This is a great way to also meet other tourists and have fun conversations. It’s absolutely worth doing if you’re visiting Hong Kong.

What a great day!
Bill met us at the meeting point and then we walked to the markets.
As we strolled through the streets he filled us in on the recent (last 20 years), of history of Hong Kong. Filling us in on the local culture and the commercial or residential uses of the areas.
The markets were really interesting and we learned about food regulations for the store holders. The food was fantastically fresh with fish stalls and poultry. The vegetables looked delicious and Bill explained the difference in the sourcing by these small outlets compared to the larger stores.
We cooked four dishes, each very simple but delicious. Bill explained every step, what the various ingredients were, why they were incorpirated and the methods used to ensure that elusive but genuine Chinese flavour.
For anyone wanting to learn about traditional cooking, this class is to be recommended, no matter what your experience levels.

We had an incredible time on this tour – easily one of the highlights of our trip to Hong Kong! The experience started with a guided walk through a bustling local market, where our guide (who was knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great stories) introduced us to fresh local ingredients and the rhythms of daily life in Hong Kong. It was a fantastic way to get a feel for the city beyond the usual tourist spots.
The real magic happened in the cooking studio. The setup was clean, professional, and welcoming. We learned how to make several classic Chinese dishes – including dumplings from scratch – and the guidance was clear and hands-on without being overwhelming. Even as beginners, we felt totally comfortable and ended up making food that was genuinely delicious (and surprisingly authentic!).
Our guide, Bill, was a real standout. He was warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable – sharing fascinating stories about the local food culture and making everyone feel at ease. His passion for cooking and Hong Kong shone through in every part of the experience.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to dive a little deeper into Hong Kong’s culture and come away with skills (and recipes!) you can use back home. Definitely come hungry!

This food tour/cooking class was one of the most memorable experiences on our trip to Hong Kong. Bill was an amazing host - very friendly and knowledgable. Cooking authentic Chinese dishes was a lot of fun. The food was excellent even with our beginner dumpling making skills! There was plenty of food, so bring your appetite and be prepared to take home leftovers!

Thank you Christina! I consider myself very lucky more for playing this role as a cooking school instructor and at the same time learn more from my guests first hand what's happening in their part of the world.

Bill was a great teacher and gave us a perfect introduction to Chinese cookery techniques and recipes we will be able to use back at home. The studio is amazing - a true “Pro kitchen” experience, and the wet market tour provided insights you can only obtain from a local guide. Make sure you don’t book an evening meal as you’ll be able to bring back anything you didn’t manage to eat for a hearty evening meal! Thoroughly recommended!

Thank you Nick! As long as you guys are happy, we are happy! Do try cook those dishes at home. Thank you!
