Ok if you’re short on time.

David_M, Feb 2026
This tour wasn’t fascinating or exciting but it was a chance to see the houseboats and Aberdeen wharf from a different perspective. It is a recorded audio tour and you how they don’t always sync with what you’re viewing. It was inexpensive and about 40 minutes and included lunch. It is not the easiest place to find. I had to ask a couple of people in the area.

Waste of time and taxi fare, save your time 8n Hong Kong and the expenses it comes

Laurence_O, Jan 2026
I would not recommend it to friends even if for free, not worth the time or taxi fair. The museum is a family boat that they use occasionally, an exhibit but not a museum..less than an hour

Nice little boat tour of the area

Etan_S, Nov 2025
Good way to get an initial look at Aberdeen. The prerecorded English guide was a little off of the progress, but it the end we could figure out what they were talking about

Not worth it

JOANNE_M, Nov 2025
It’s a shabby old area with nothing else there. The boat trip is nowhere near the money you pay for it. It was nice to see an old fishing village but the floating boat is a clapped out old heap. It’s on the other side of Hong Kong too so it costs you money to get there. I enjoyed it but it’s only worth £10/15 in my humble opinion. We paid £48 for two people and £30 in taxis. Not worth it. Boat trip was about 30/40 mins long. Staff were very nice.

hi Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback—we genuinely appreciate it. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing the old fishing village and that our staff left a positive impression. At the same time, we’re sorry to learn that the overall experience did not fully meet your expectations. We’re continuously working to enrich the experience for our guests. In fact, some new elements will be launched soon! Thank you again for your valuable comments. We hope to welcome you back in the future and show you how the experience is evolving.

Waste of money

Ben_R, Aug 2025
This was not worth the time or money. First off, the operator had no idea that I was coming or that I had signed up and already paid. There was no audio tour. This was only 1 hour long when it was advertised as being longer. The “museum” wasn’t a museum.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Hi Ben, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we're sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations. As descendants of Aberdeen fisherfolk, we created this tour to share the unique lifestyle of the fishing community and support heritage preservation. By restoring traditional wooden vessels (sampans, houseboats, seafood stalls) and hiring retired fishermen as tour crew, we aim to keep this cultural legacy alive and promote sustainable tourism. To clarify, the regular tour you joined departs hourly and lasts about 1 hour. It includes: - A 30-minute audio guided ride on a restored wooden boat. Recent heavy rain may have affected the audio quality — something we're actively working to improve. - A visit to a real houseboat that once housed a fisherfolk family. We also offer extended tour options (up to 2 hours) with local experiences like enjoy boat noodles, seafood meals, and hook fishing — available as add-ons on the day or by selecting a different tour package online. Lastly, we sincerely apologize for the booking issue. We're checking reservation setup with Tripadvisor/Viator to prevent this from happening again. We really appreciate your feedback — it helps us continue to do better.

Fishing Village

I learned more about the history of Hong Kong and the experience. Would definitely tour with you again.

Too pricey

SHIRLEY_L, Nov 2023
The price was much higher than walk-in and there were no boat noodles. The price at the pier is only HK$225 with boat noodles.
