If you’re looking for an adventure and you’re stuck in San José this is the perfect mix of nature, hiking and sunshine. This is a men only tour and you will have the chance to bare it all and enjoy nature. We will be going to a local swimming hole with a waterfall close to San José. I.e. this is not an adventure where you spend all day in bus. Some level of fitness is required to cross through the river to get to our clothing optional spot. Curious, confident, or gay men welcome to join! We will meet in Parque Francia in San José and have a coffee before heading out to Ciudad Colon together. Feel free to bring snacks. Along the way we will also be stopping by a pulpería (local mom and pop convenience store) where you will be able to buy drinks and snacks as well before heading the the waterfall. Angel was an amazing tour...

Angel was an amazing tour guide and teacher. From the moment he met the group he was very informative, funny, entertaining and helpful. I really enjoyed his conversations about food and traveling and was very patient when we asked questions about San Jose. The food was excellent as well. We started in the Central Market, ate delicious ice cream and walked around. Then we went to the café and started drinking and eating. We had about 4 cocktails - some we made with as much/little alcohol you prefer and some were premade. We ate about 3 tapas dishes. I won't say much so as to not ruin what was served but let me just say it was an enjoyable time.

Just Go!

Dependable transportation from our Jaco hotel to the boat. Crew was excellent, very much service oriented and attention to detail. Boat slowed down on the way to the island to view sea turtles and dolphin. Light breakfast on the way was just enough. Once on the island, settled into our loungers and umbrella. Great location to swim, cool down and have a few drinks. Lunch was awesome.

We had the best...

We had the best experience with Jose as our guide and Mauricio as our driver! Unforgettable moments with my 3 daughters seeing a baby sloth up close, a vibrant colorful frog and a venomous snake. Seeing how coffee and chocolate is grown, harvested and created made us feel in touch with nature and the sacrifices of those who create magic. It was a truly wonderful experience.

Bachi is the best!

Honestly, it was the best day ever! We absolutely loved our day with Heiner (aka Bachi the boss). We learned so much about CR and had a blast doing all the activities. It was for sure the highlight of our trip. Although there were other groups there, we really loved being with just our tour guide. We’ll be back to visit 🩵 pura Vida baby!

Great Fun

Our driver Diego was great! He stopped at some cool look out spots along the way and was very knowledgeable of the area. Our guide Helen for the AatV tour was great and we had a blast. The chocolate tour with Heidi and Kia were FANTASTIC!! It was so intresting and cool to see the beginning to end proccess and be able to eat it all along the way. Will absolutely do it again next time I'm in Costa Rica!

Good family adventure

Well run and nicely organized. It’s a giant pack of people, but they do a good job personalizing your experience. Our guide was Julio, who did a wonderful job with our teenagers- one was a thrill seeker and the other was pretty freaked out by the rapids. He adapted his approach to both, leaving everyone happy and glad to be there.

A great way to experience some of the La Fortuna “must sees.”

A long day but totally worth it. Our guide for the day was Albert. He was great, and explained everything in English and Spanish as we went along. It was a very rainy day and the volume of the waterfall was too intense for swimming, but the hike down (and back up) was beautiful. We opted to hang out in the café to dry off a bit because it was pouring rain, before we continued on to the Arenal volcano hike. Even in the rain, it’s worth doing the hike to the base of the volcano, but I imagine it’s spectacular if you are lucky enough to do it on a clear day. Albert provided facts on the volcano and was constantly on the lookout for wildlife that he pointed out as we trekked. For us though, the highlight of the day was the Mistico hanging bridges. Besides the spectacular scenery and the bridges themselves, there was plenty of wildlife to see including howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, and even an eyelash viper. Beautiful place, and very easy to hike on the paved trails. We decided to skip the final stop at the hot springs because we had a day pass to one of the hot springs resorts the next day, and instead, had them drop us off at our hotel - Lost Iguana - which was very close to the Mistico Hanging Bridges. They were very flexible and agreeable about doing. Overall, a great day, and we slept like babies.

We loved this tour. Our guide Albert was so well educated and taught us so much along the tour. I really wanted to hear everything he had to say. Alberto the driver was a great driver. Sometime tour drivers are super aggressive drivers and gives me a little anxiety. I had no worries with Alberto. He also pulled over when the volcano appeared so we could get pictures as it had been in the clouds for days. It rained A LOT during our tour, but we still enjoyed it!

We had a fantastic time with Marcelo on this tour. Tried several exotic (to me!) fruits at the farmers market and he was so informative about origins and history. The walking portion past several National monuments was interesting. We ended at Mr Sloth with local dishes and coffee. Exceeded my expectations. A great way to spend the morning.

Highlight of our Costa Rica trip

My family and I had an amazing fun filled day with tour guide Steven and driver Randall. Steven was very knowledgeable and experienced on all the topics/locations we covered. We visited every location mentioned in the itinerary and even stopped a couple of times to observe the animals Steven pointed out in the trees. We were able to spend 3 1/2 hours at the hot springs which was lovely. Would definitely recommend this tour ! Our family included our 15 year old teenager who also enjoyed the various stops.
