A great experience at Corcovado National Park. A very professional, well thought out experience. Our guide Ali was extremely knowledgeable of the Park and held up the most respect for its animals and all living things found along the way. We throughly enjoyed our day trip and the lunch that was provided at the station. Definitely a highlight and something we will forever remember.

Welk organised trip to Corcovado NP. We saw a whale on the way to the park, which was great, and a fair amount of wildlife in the park. Seeing the tapir was a highlight. Guide José is friendly and knowledgable.

Great hike with an excellent guide. Jose was very informative and took great care to ensure all of us could see the animals both from the ground and through his spotting scope. In one day we saw dozens of howler, Capuchin and spider monkies, a tapir, a wild pig family with babies, toucans, macaws and more. Great experience and highly recommended.

The guide had lots of knowledge and explained lots of things and I'm sure he did his best, although we were there mainly to spot animals and I felt that too much time was spent just on talking on the same things and places, so at the end we couldn't see many animals, and neither take nice pictures from the telescope. We felt that the tour was not greatly organised and more training is needed, we walked on small paths and we were just mainly relying on other people spotting animals and running to see them from one place to another one. The tour and place is overrated and overpriced for what you see and get. We could see more animals in any other park of Costa Rica. The lunch was disappointing, poor selection of food and drink, and you are forced to walk barefoot even on the toilet. On the way to the park I had to sit on the middle of the boat without back support and holding myself with a rope to avoid falling backward. It says that only 100 - 150 people are allowed per day in the Park but the places was packed with definitely more than than 100 people. Not worthed the price and I wouldn't recommend, considering that Corcovado is supposed to be the best place for biodiversity in the world and we just mainly saw tapir, coati, ant eater and some monkeys. They should organise a much longer trail with transportation along the park like in a proper safari, maybe that would help spotting more animals.

    Good tour!

It was a great experience! The forest was amazing and the trip was well organized. Our only issue was that we booked an English tour, but we had a few people in the group who didn’t speak a lot of English. So the guide was kind enough to do both Spanish and English. But we got the impression that she told the Spanish speaking part of the group way more than the English part. So we had the feeling we missed a lot of details. For the guide it was also a bit difficult I think to switch from English to Spanish the whole time. But for us it was sometimes hard to keep up. That is the only feedback we would recommend for the tour guides. The rest was great :)

Maria is a 5* guide! She did a brilliant job with our group, showing us spider monkeys, a sloth, a caiman, an owl, a coati and ended the day with a tapir eating! Maria was really friendly and happily answered all of our questions about the animals we were looking at. I’d highly recommend getting a tour and asking for Maria! She also sent us great photos that she’d taken through her scope!

    Wildlife!

Easy trail with lots of wildlife! Our guide Freiner was kind and very enthousiastic about the animals. The boat ride can be a bit rough but definetely worth it!

Memorable Corcovado Day Tour with a Few Avoidable Issues

    Hexi_Z, Dec 2025
Overall, this was a very good Corcovado day tour. We were lucky to have dry weather in Drake Bay, so the hike was comfortable and not overly muddy. Our guide was excellent. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and did a great job managing a group of nine while sharing meaningful information. Some rules were not communicated clearly in advance. The message mentioned reusable plastic or aluminum water bottles, which we understood as allowing reusable sports drink bottles. At the park entrance, rangers inspected backpacks and required us to discard sports drinks. We were fortunate to have hydration bladders. Otherwise, this would have effectively left us without any container to carry water. Clearer wording beforehand would have avoided unnecessary waste and confusion. Lunch logistics were slightly uncomfortable. Shoes must be removed, but the floors were not clean, and the men’s restroom had wet and slippery surfaces, which raised hygiene and safety concerns. Boat seating was strictly assigned for weight balance, which is understandable, but sometimes separated people traveling together. On the positive side, the return boat ride brought an unforgettable bonus. We saw three humpback whales offshore. Despite a few logistical and communication issues, this was a high quality experience overall, mainly thanks to the guide and the wildlife.

The best tour i did in Costa Rica

    Valery_H, Nov 2025
I loved this tour, it was the highlight of our trip. The guide had a lot of knowledge, he helpt us spot a lot of animals: tapir, sloth, monkeys, crocodille, birds, snake, spiders. The boat trip was long but i liked it, the lunch was a buffet and it was tasty. Downside for me was that it was an easy hike and you don’t go far in the forrest, i guess you’ll have to do the overnight tour if you want that. I think i would recommend to do the overnight tour if you can.

Alejandra was a wonderful guide!! Great day out, we saw loads of birds, all the kinds if monkeys, crocodiles, a boa constrictor, a porcupine, sloths, and incredible vegetation and fungi!

    Amazing national park

    Lucy_C, Sep 2025
Muy bien. We saw lots of animals, mostly thanks to our excellent guide, Gustavo, and the boat captain. Whales on the way there and dolphins on the way back! A brilliant tour and a good lunch too.

The perfect trip if you’re not really a hiker and just want to explore the region and see the animals. We had an amazing guide (forgot her name). She really made the experience better and searched actively for the animals.

Great adventure starting with boat ride to the national park. You will get wet loading and unloading from the beach start point and the national park. The park is a mostly flat hike with plenty of animals to see. Guides are knowledgeable and they take you in small groups.

    Erikk is the best guide.

    Kayleigh_R, Jun 2025
Erikk our guide was the best guide we had throughout our visit to Costa Rica. He is very passionate about his role and the animals and the National Park. He kept the tour interesting and he shared some amazing knowledge. He was super friendly and so passionate.

    April_H, Apr 2025
Erick was a great guide. He prioritized what to look for with what the group wanted to see. He used the tracks and knowledge of the tapirs to find where they went. He was enthusiastic, and knew the forest well. We saw fours types of monkeys as well as a band of coatis playing on the side of the trail. The hike was easy for all to keep up.

    Did not meet our expectations.

    Robert_P, Mar 2025
The tour was a bit of a letdown. While it’s advertised as a full-day Corcovado experience, you only spend a couple of hours in the actual park. The boat ride alone takes about 1.5 hours each way—so that’s 3 hours gone already. Our guide seemed a bit tired, likely because they do the same tour every day, and the overall energy just wasn’t there. It might vary depending on who you get, but we actually enjoyed the hikes we did on our own much more. The Corcovado trail was just a short, underwhelming loop. We honestly expected more from this experience.

This tour was a wonderful introduction to Corcovado National Park. Communication in advance was clear and helpful, and everything went smoothly. We had a relatively small group (9 people total) and were paired up with guide William. It’s clear that William is an experienced guide with many connections, and he ensured that we were able to see as many different types of wildlife as possible. Tips: Make sure you bring a reusable water bottle as security will check your bags and confiscate all plastic bottles. There are spots to refill water in the park.

It was a great experience! 8 hours tour, the boat drive at 6 in the morning is already something extremely stunning. Albert, our guide, was a really cool person, he explained a lot of interesting things and we were able to see all the animals we wanted to (tapir, anteaters, all 4 Costa Rica monkeys, tons of birds, crocs, iguanas, spiders, vipers, agoutis). Really cool experience ❤️

    Mucho animals!

    Abram_W, Feb 2025
Saw a ton of different animals our guide Alfred was awesome! Squirrel , Spider And Howler monkeys. Taipers Momma with baby. Lots of lizards and a Cayman! Tons of birds bugs and wild pigs (peckery) and a coati right at the end.

    Great day with Albert

    Shelly_E, Feb 2025
Albert was a fantastic guide. We had a wonderful day with our small group of 10. As others have said, there will be other groups there at the same time, but it wasn’t a problem. The guides help each other, communicating when they have sighted something cool and share the location with each other. The sloths were very difficult to see, but the guides somehow find them and set up a scope for you to get a close up view. We saw sloths, tapir, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, crocodile, coati etc . *** the 1 hour boat road is not for the front of heart. Lots of choppy water and the boat is like a speed boat. You are going right along the coastline, but if you get seasick easily you need to take something

Great tour, lots of wildlife and wonderful guide!

    Luke_H, Feb 2025
Great tour, lots of wildlife to see, guides very knowledgable and friendly. Included a very good lunch at the ranger station.

    Sirena Station Corcovado

    Rachel_S, Feb 2025
We loved this tour at Sirena station! Our guide Steven was incredible. He had answers for all our questions and was incredibly knowledgeable about the area's ecology, history, and biodiversity. With his skills we were able to see multiple sloths, 3 types of monkeys, an anteater, and even a tapir! He also pointed out many birds which he was able to mimic with perfect vocalization, and was careful to ensure everyone in the group had the opportunity to see and hear each animal we encountered. Overall a wonderful and unforgettable experience!

    Steven the RACIST tour guide!

    Richard_K, Feb 2025
We were having a pretty good tour until the tour guide (Steven) made comments to me about disliking people from the United States. My wife and I are from the US and I took offense to this. I explained to him he shouldn't make generalizations about people from anywhere! We paid well over $200 to go on tour and then the tour guide makes racist comments to us? The remainder of the tour Steven did not pay attention to me. Don't take this tour if Steven is the guide!

    See Costa Rican wildlife

    Kathy_B, Feb 2025
Great tour with an opportunity to see lots of Costa Rican wildlife. Our guide, Breyner, was very knowledgeable and found lots of animals - sloth, anteater, tapir, and monkeys to name a few. Toy will spend about 3 hours walking with a short break at the ranger station in the middle. Take sandals to get in and out of the boat- the beach at the park is very rocky at low tide and you have to walk a ways.

Felt like beeing in the zoo

    Dagmar_M, Jan 2025
We expected to make a walk in the remote jungle with a small group to see loads of animals but in fact we walked with hundreds of people in a small peace of the park on paved paths. That was really disappointing to me. Good thing is, we saw a lot of animals: snakes, sloths, an ant eater, monkeys,... But it felt a bit like beeing in a zoo. While coating a lot of money.

    You are divided into...

    Madison_P, Jan 2025
You are divided into groups of 8-10 people, with a guide, however there are 15-20+ groups that all arrive to the park at the same time, and leave to start the walk at the same time, taking the same trails, so it felt very crowded. This was a big disappointment to me.
