My family (3 little kids) and I had a great day at terracotta army site. Everything was agreed in advance and well planned (never felt time pressure), we set the pace stopping or moving when and where we needed to. Valuable and entertaining insights on both the historical site and general curiosities that came up along the way. Kindness and professional attitude at top level. Really really recommended

Rocky was a nice guide...

Vivian_G, Apr 2026
Rocky was a nice guide and the tour was informative. I appreciated that the driver accommodated us with the different pickup and drop off location.

Great experience!

Supriya_M, Apr 2026
Our guide, Sasha, was excellent. We traveled to the terracotta warriors in a nice car and we spent just the right amount of time at the site. It was very very crowded when we got there at 9, so if you'd like to avoid crowds, I would recommend going when it first opens.

First class service

Hana_W, Apr 2026
First class service! Our experience couldn't have been any better. Wendy who was our guide was fantastic. We received clear instructions about pick up. All communication was clear. Wendy was passionate and very knowledgeable about all details, history, the site and knew the best spots for viewing any of the soldiers whether we were in the pits or the museum. We visited during national holiday and the place was very crowded but Wendy navigated us through the crowds with an ease and we gave thoroughly enjoyed our tour. I would recommend Wendy and her service. Thank you for this experience.

Great tour, great guide

Very good tour to the Terracotta Army! Comfortably collected at our hotel, safely driven to the area and a nice walkthrough of all sites. Very knowledgeable guide who also explained a lot of contextual topics, very informative and perfect English! Many thanks!

Absolutely fantastic tour!

Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the history of the Terracotta Army in a simple yet captivating way. She made the experience both educational and enjoyable. The driver was excellent as well—very safe and pleasant to ride with. Overall, this was a highly recommendable tour, and I would gladly do it again!

Awesome day because of awesome guide!!

Sonora_C, Dec 2025
Wendy was amazing, very knowledgeable, and adapted well to this history geek who also loves birds, trees and plants. She had very in depth knowledge of the warriors, the builders’ stamps, and details to look for at NatGeo level! If you’re looking for beyond the glossy photos and really dig into the history behind the makings and discovery of these pits, Wendy should be your guide. She also knew the way to uncrowded ladies rooms, was the source of toilet papers and napkins, and got us moving without rushing us. We had an absolutely amazingly half day with her! Wendy even took us to a restaurant that served the local favorite of long, wide pulled noodles! Can’t go wrong with Wendy if you need a guide for Xi’an!

Good tour

Great and personalized experience

Wendy was a great, casual and informative guide that never made us feel rushed, or made us feel we were “going through the motions”. She was very attentive to our interests and our pace, and we highly recommend her to anyone visiting the Terra cotta soldiers or anywhere in Xian.

Exceptional

Ron_S, Oct 2025
My guide, Becky, was very professional and knows her stuff. From hotel pickup and drop off to the tour of the museum and a local lunch it was exceptional. The museum is one of those bucket list destinations and no surprises it’s very popular. Becky made it a great day.

Fantastic Tour

Rick_R, Oct 2025
We did a half day tour to see the Terracotta Warriors. Our guide Rocky was very knowledgeable, personable, kind, fun and energetic. He answered all of our questions and showed us the small details that we would have missed. It is obvious he truly enjoys being a guide. We also had a fantastic driver. I had wanted to come see the Terracotta Warriors for years and he made sure that we had a fantastic day! We would highly recommend that everyone let Rocky be your guide.

Guided tour was a must

Michael_D, Sep 2025
Having a a guided tour was a must. Our guide Wendy guided us through all of the three pits and the museum stopping at all the best places to see and her knowledge was exceptional.

Highly recommended tour

Chris_M, Aug 2025
From our first interaction with Wendy's Xi’an tours right up to the drop off at North Xi’an station was exceptional. We were picked up at our hotel by our driver Mr Liu and Agnes our tour guide. Mr Liu’s van was very clean and comfortable and his driving was safe. Agnes was lovely, she spoke excellent English. She provided us with very interesting information during the car ride as well as during the tour. It was very busy due to school holidays but Agnes ensured we got to see all the important parts in the museum, knowing exactly when to stop to share information and take photos. While we didn’t get time to stop for lunch due to the crowds and the time it took, she recommended we have Biang Biang noodles at the train station and to make sure we say bù là as we don’t like spicy. The noodles were delicious. We highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a professional company. Thank you Agnes and Mr Liu.

100% recommend

We weren’t sure about making a stop in Xi’An during our relatively short stay in China but this tour made it one of our trip’s highlights! We learned so much about the Terracotta Warriors as well as Chinese history and culture. Hassle free tour, took us to the best spots to look at the warriors’ details and take pictures. Would 100% recommend!

Amazing tour with Becky

diane_a, Jan 2025
Becky was phenomenal. She was the highlight of the tour with her knowledge of the historic sites we visited and her insight into the history of China. She brought us to an incredible place for lunch. We loved the day. Highly recommend.

Great experience!

A wonderful time

Camilla_d, Oct 2024
This was just a true delight. We really connected with our guide and she gave us great insight both into the terra cotta warriors history, as well as the greater history of Xi’an, both older and newer. Will highly recommend

Tour guide was great.

Victoria_H, Sep 2024
Our tour guide Becky was amazing. She gave very detailed explanations on the Terracotta warriors. She also gave us advice on how to get around certain tourist attractions. Really enjoyed her tour and would recommend her.

A perfect tour to get the most from a visit to the unmissable Terracotta warriors

LAA_S, Aug 2024
The Terracotta Warriors are spectacular and the tour with Becky from Wendys Xian Tours was the best way to see them. Many of the reviews of the Warriors mention the crowds - we went at the height of the Summer holidays and there were very large numbers of domestic tourists. However we took Becky's advice and set of early from our hotel in Central Xian (the journey was around 45 minutes) and Becky helped us move swiftly and efficiently through the crowds and easily find great viewpoints. She was also an excellent guide, providing plenty of information and answering all our questions. The driver was outstanding - we felt very safe despite some intense downpours and flooding on out return journey!

Great afternoon!

Alexa_L, Jun 2024
Wendy was engaging with my kids. Gave us interesting facts and made the afternoon fun. She even recommended a show and gave us a ride there. Got snacks for my kids after the show. My 12 years old son actually turned to me and said: I have to admit this was pretty cool.

Amazing tour - 10 out of 5 stars :)

Jean_Y, Apr 2024
I don't say this lightly - I am a very particular person with extremely high standards, and I would give Wendy 10 out of 5 stars if I could. If you are fortunate and can shell out some extra $ for a private tour (vs. a semi-private or group tour), it is well worth it. We chose the afternoon tour, as we were scheduled to arrive past midnight in Xi'an and wanted to be able to get some rest and properly enjoy the excursion. A few days ahead of our scheduled tour, Wendy initiated a chat conversation to discuss logistics - i.e., what specific time did we want to start - did we want to start earlier and end earlier? I mentioned that we would want to eat lunch before setting out, and she said she and the driver could pick us up from the hotel earlier and they would take us to a local restaurant before heading to the tomb (aka Terra Cotta Warriors, aka the massive tomb of the "First Emperor of China"). Since we were not familiar with the area and had limited time in Xi'an, we agreed to a slightly earlier pick-up for lunch. (Note - lunch is not included in the price of the tour. It is an out-of-pocket expense.) I am a huge foodie, and I typically will research restaurants to no end well in advance; however, I had been short on time prior to our trip and was quite pleased with the restaurant Wendy took us to. I cannot remember the name of the restaurant, but it was a "biang biang" noodle shop. Wendy recommended the restaurant's specialty, a crispy-skinned whole chicken, as well as an order of biang biang spinach noodles. The noodles are very wide and long - the "normal" order is 1 noodle per person (you read that right - 1 noodle - and believe me, it is plenty). After lunch, we got back into the very comfortable van (I believe it is a 7-seater - the type with reclining single seats in the middle section and automatic doors on each side) and headed for the tour site. Wendy arranges all of the entry logistics and was able to procure a wheelchair (inclusive of an attendant) for my father, who has some mobility issues. (Note - this is also an additional cost, but Wendy can make all of the arrangements and it can be paid in cash. Other payment methods may be available, but since we paid this in cash, I can't speak to them.) Wendy's historical knowledge and more importantly, her ability to *explain* this history to our family, is beyond impressive. As if that alone wasn't enough, she did this in 2 languages - Mandarin Chinese and English - EXPERTLY (my father is a native Mandarin speaker, and while he understands English just fine, there are some things that are just more effectively conveyed in the native tongue). I believe she is also fluent in a couple other dialects as well. In addition, Wendy knows the best spots for photos and highlights the more interesting / "vital" spots of the various pits and navigates the crowded walkways very well. There were a couple of times where our group got a bit separated due to the massive crowds, so I would definitely suggest some way to keep track of each other, but this is not unique to this tour site or operator. I would also call it "user error" as it was typically because my partner decided to wander away on his own while not being able to speak Chinese, so there is that too. :P All in all, I could probably go on for pages about this tour and Wendy herself. There is a reason why the tour has a 5-star rating. If we ever visit Xi'an again in the future, I would book another tour with Wendy in a heartbeat to see the rest of what Xi'an has to offer. Thank you Wendy!

Wonderful time

Thomas_K, Apr 2024
Wendy was such an excellent guide! She taught me so much about the history of the terracotta warriors and was also really funny. We had a great day and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an. If you're going to visit the Terracotta warriors, I hope you are lucky enough to do it with Wendy.

Great personalized tour

Pamela_T, Dec 2023
Becky was a great tour guide. Lots of background history and details about the warriors. We were able to add airport pickup and dropoff to the service, and personalized options were presented.

The optimal way to visit the Terracotta Warriors.

Marcel_S, Sep 2023
If you are planning on visiting the Terracotta Warriors, deservedly one of China's most famous sights, then this is the tour to do it with. Wendy is an exceptional guide, whose passion for her work is truly infectious. Besides being incredibly knowledgeable on the history of Xi'an and very open to all kinds of questions, she is also kind, considerate and will try her best to make the tour as enjoyable as it could be. I was impressed by her willingness to go the extra mile, meaning that I definitely ended up getting more out of this than what I originally paid for. Very highly recommended.

Unforgettable Warriors

Margaret_S, Jul 2023
There are truly no words to describe this museum! Becky our tour guide was fantastic! She told us so much history on our ride to the museum. My husband broke his ankle 5 months ago and was on a knee scooter. She was so patient and helpful the entire tour. She was very knowledgeable and helped us get at great spots to see specific items. Highly recommend!

Informative and comfortable tour

Learned a lot about Chinese history while taking this tour with Wendy. She is knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of the group.

Amazing site and fabulous guide!!!

Gillian G, Oct 2019
At the last minute my friends and I decided to fly to Xian to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. It is a must see if you are ever in China and Wang, our guide, was terrific. The company went above and beyond and arranged for an airport pick up and drop off , extra sites to see the wall and the Muslim quarter and mosque. Highly recommended!!

One of the Best!!!

DonCarlo_Y, Aug 2019
We were really impressed about this private tour. Wendy, our guide was exactly on time, she knew what she was talking about and she spoke perfect English. She was also very nice and friendly. But what we really loved about her and her driver John was that they went out of their way for us. We wanted to do some shopping, which was no longer included in the tour and she brought us to where we could buy cheap terracota figurines. The tour was supposed to be done by lunch but we wanted to watch this show (also not included in tour) and she made it happen for us, brought us to the venue and waited for us. She even took us to a place where we could have lunch. She even gave us fresh peaches to take with us to the show.

Superbe visite des guerriers en terre cuite

Tout a été parfait, de la personne de viator que j'ai eu au téléphone (extrêmement serviable), à la prise à l'hôtel ( à l'heure souhaitée), à la visite même. Bravo et merci
