Well worth it

This tour was well worth it, just us and our guide Uta. Uta was on time, easy to find, very knowledgeable, pleasant, funny as well as aware that it was quite cold for us the day of our tour. We were able to see and learn about the palace and history of the family in a relatively short amount of time bypassing lines and with her targeted commentary, diving deeper anywhere we asked her to. It was well worth it vs wondering through the palaces with the recorded audio tour as in less time we saw more, learned more, and had more fun.

Christine, our guide, was an amazing source of historical knowledge. How she kept track of centuries, dates, buildings, and the ruling Viennese family tree is beyond me. We never felt rushed but still covered an enormous amount of information. The Sisi Museum could use some updating, but Christine was a very good shepherd. A walk through the beautiful gardens to view monuments and government buildings provided some fresh air. This tour is a must to get you started in Vien.

Excellent tour; so glad we did it!

The tour was excellent—well worth the money. Our guide Gabby was amazing. She is a Vienna native and knew lots of facts about Vienna and about the palace that you won’t find in a guidebook. She was kind and thoughtful about pointing out restrooms, answering questions, and even took pictures for any travelers who wanted pictures together.

Excellent Guide!

Our guide absolutely made this tour a hit. She provided excellent historical background to highlight the context of Sisi and the times in which she lived. The tour does involve a climb of probably 65-70 stairs to reach the Royal Apartments, but it is well worth it. There was on break during the 2.5 hour tour, so you might want to take a bit of water along for hydration.
