What are people saying about Auckland

No whales, no worries!
Our trip started out with helping a Little Penguin safely move away from the vessel. A few of us noticed it and brought it to the crew's attention. The crew were very concerned and compassionate about the penguin and did all the right things to ensure its safety before heading out. For me, that really spoke to their commitment to marine animals and that alone made my experience on the catamaran complete before we even left the dock. The trip was excellent. The crew are all knowledgeable about marine life and shared many facts and kept a close eye out for sealife. I love being out on the salt water getting sprayed. I was dressed for it and I would recommend that anyone going out on the safari, dress warmly and wear rain gear unless you choose to stay off the bow. We saw various sea birds and common dolphins. That was lovely. The crew handed out vouchers for a free safari (that don't expire) because we didn't see any whales. That's pretty awesome, in my books. It's a great 4 hours, especially if you love getting out on the salt water and hanging out with some marine life 😊.

Kawal was a really lovely...
Kawal was a really lovely guide- I wasn't expecting the tour to be so small (the 2 of us traveled in a White Tesla), but it was tailored just to our needs and Kawal always checked in with us to make sure we saw what we needed and had enough time to enjoy each stop.

Waitomo Glowworm caves
An excellent experience. Make sure you wear non slip shoes. Two fantastic tour guides. We learned so much and travelled with a friendly interesting group of people. It is a long day so perhaps not suited to very young children or people who might have difficulties walking over uneven surfaces in the dark. Seeing all the tiny glowworms lighting up the dark is just magical. Learning about their life cycle was really interesting and gave the tour perspective and meaning.

Hobbiton and the glow worm caves
Wonderful experience even though the morning consisted of pouring down rain. The rain finally eased when we arrived at Hobbiton. It is beautiful and magical. We then had an ale at the Green Dragon pub and went to see the glow worm caves. It also is amazing. We made the drive back to Auckland but stopped for some Hokey Pokey ice cream. Excellent day and there were plenty of bathroom stops. Our driver/guide was named Warren and he is excellent.

Coast, countryside, island retreats—Auckland has it all. It’s no surprise that New Zealand’s largest city offers plenty of choice for day-trippers. Auckland day trips will take you to black-sand beaches, ancient Kauri forests, and idyllic vineyards, often all in one day. If you want to venture further afield, many North Island highlights are also within day-trip distance of Auckland. Peek inside Hobbit holes as you tour a Lord of the Rings movie set, marvel at the geothermal wonders of Rotorua, or go rafting along an underground river and gaze up at a canopy of glittering glowworms.
