We haven’t stopped talking about it! It was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had on holiday. A family-run business with heart at its core, everything about this place felt warm and welcoming. The team was incredibly friendly, the setting was stunning, and the food paired with the wine tasting was simply unforgettable, everything you’d hope for (and more) in Italy. We loved the wine so much that we had a few bottles shipped home for my dad’s 60th birthday, and they were enjoyed and appreciated just as much as when we first tasted them there. This was an experience filled with authenticity, passion, and unforgettable moments! Thank you

Wonderful winery experience

This was a very personalised experience in a delightful winery/farmhouse spanning generations of family ownership. The host was very knowledgeable and had an authentic relaxed manner. Wines and accompaniments were generous and delicious. We really enjoyed the experience and the beautiful converted stable was absolutely stunning for the tastings. We much preferred this to the bigger winery tours we have also done in Italy.

Vineyard Visit

Highly recommended! As part of our visit to Verona, we took a trip out to the Valpolicella Vineyards. The tour was engaging and informative, with providers who were welcoming and extremely friendly. The setting was beautiful, the wine exquisite and the food moorish! The only downside was Viator in its App error not explaining how to get to the vineyard. It had a ‘meeting point’ link to google maps, which directed us to a location that had nothing to do with the excursion. Thankfully the providers were still able to accommodate us despite a late arrival and costly journey for us. Full marks to the Vineyard tour. 2/10 for Viator and it’s App for causing confusion, stress and ‘emergency’ high travel costs.

I did not expect to take public transport - alone - the end point of the bus trip (j took a taxi) was not the right stop. Luckily a local told me where to go - and another local helped me call the host! I wanted to return but persisted. The host came and got me after many calls to Viator!!!!! No answer!!!! The experience there was nice. I was not part of any tour - it was advertised as one??? Luckily for me a couple there drove me back to Verona otherwise I don’t know how I would have got back!!! Stuck out there, alone on a Sunday in an organised tour - very strange. It should be explained better . I had no idea I was doing a paid tour with no transport!!! Monika johnstone

Claudia was super knowledgable and friendly. 3 gorgeous wines were tried along with plenty of bread, local olive oil & meats + cheese. Beautiful view and great tour. Be aware the shuttle will be €100 shared between people so if you’re the only people on it can be more expensive (you’ll be informed beforehand). A taxi is expensive & public transport is quite lengthy!

This was a lovely and picturesque experience. Llaria was very sweet and knowledgeable. The wine was delicious! I would just be aware that the pinned location on the map is not accurate; you actually have to take a 30-minute bus outside the city and then be picked up by car there.

This trip was excellent! We couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The staff were so welcoming, knowledgable and passionate. Our guide was superb! The wine was incredible and the food provided was delicious. The scenery and back drop was beautiful too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this excursion from start to finish. The surprise “puppy party” was also extremely welcomed!! The whole activity lasted approximately 2.5 hours, which more than a sufficient amount of time to enjoy the day. The organisers booked us a taxi, which was €100 round trip. We were luckily with another couple who we split the cost of this with. We would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to visit a vineyard if you are visiting locally!

The place is beautiful and it is a boutique winery. The guide was super nice. Food and wine very good portions. The only complaint is the fact that Viator had this tour starting in Verona, when it was actually starting in the vineyard. A bus travel from center of Verona. After 2 rescheduling we were able to take the tour.

Disappointing Experience

The tour was initially 70 euros including shuttle service and I only booked it after the pick-up was confirmed by a Viator agent. The night before the tour, the operator informed me that they will not provide shuttle for their financial reason and now I need to pay 100 euros for a private pick up if I do not want take public transportation to get to the winery outside the city on my own. I then requested for refund as I did not want to take public transportation, and it was not fair to be charged for a pick up for their reason, not my reason. Jacopo, the winery’s tour operator refuse to provide refund. He also lied to Viator saying I agreed to join the tour after I told him that I am not. Extremely unprofessional and untrustworthy business conduct.

We later discovered that your travel plans changed overnight (for reasons you did not share), and you decided not to visit Verona at all, requesting a full refund for the experience. As a small, family-run winery, every booking matters. We had already arranged the tour, called in our staff, prepared food and wines, and reserved seats in the shuttle—turning down other potential guests. We also dedicated time to answering all your inquiries, ensuring that your visit would be seamless. We regret that this situation led to disappointment, but we remain committed to transparency and exceptional hospitality, as reflected in the many positive experiences shared by our visitors. A calm and informative taste of Amarone

A fantastic trip to the vineyard. The weather was not on our side, but Claudia, the guides’ fantastic personality more than made up for the missing views due to heavy mist. We had a really nice time learning about the process in making Amarone and valpolicella, and had a delicious tasting of 3 wines, accompanied by some cheese, bread and meats, and the producers own olive oil and mustardo. The atmosphere og the winery was calm and seductive, and our guide was fantastic. Would recommend, and would gladly go again!

The location was beautiful. The information and tour was very interesting. The eating area and food were yummy. The only thing I was disappointed about was we were left out at the table for a long period of time with nobody around.

Me and my friend had an excellent experience at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde, north for Verona recently! I have no words to describe how wonderful Beatrice was to us :) First she picked us up by car (as we arrived to a wrong place, so take note of the correct address...) and once at the wineyard she explained everything about the activity there and let us taste very good wines :) The place and the view were great and so was everything else - I highly recommend a visit at Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde to everybody else, so that you too can learn about Valpolicella and Amarone wines in a great ambience :) Cheers, Julia

A fantastic view with superb wines.

We had to get a bus from the centre of Verona to a stop just about ten minutes drive from the vineyard. We were picked up and driven the rest of the way. Our visit was most enjoyable. It's a small family run business with organic wines. The talk given by the staff was most informative. The views of the surrounding countryside were spectacular and the different wines delicious. Especially the Amarone.

Lovely hosts and interesting tour, food offering was great, wine perfect as you’d expect. It rained on the day we went but they did well to entertain us. Improvements would be to the transport, it was advertised as a tour from Verona and the transfer taxi they offered was quite pricey. Based on previous experiences I’d also have expected a bit more wine, we received 4 small measures plus a very small taste of the sweet wine. That said the venue was very well presented and they’ve clearly invested time into creating a good place to host the tasting. All round a good day out.

Amazing Experience

Amazing views from the winery, the winery itself is old and amazing. The walk around the vineyard and chat was very informative, we learnt so much. The wines themselves were of a very good quality, the meat and cheese platter complemented the wines perfectly. Oh and do try the cherry chutney! Instructions to get to the meeting point by bus were very easy to follow. A standout tour of our holiday.

BEST experience ever!!!! We celebrated my husbands 70th birthday with our adult kids and their spouses up here and we were blown away with the spectacular view and the amazing experience Nicolai and his family provided. The setting was breath taking and we had a full tour of the vineyards, cellar, personal library of wines and full explanation of the history of the winery as well as how they grow and produce the wine. Nicolai’s wife made this extra special by presenting a traditional cookie(birthday cake) and sang happy birthday in Italian!! An experience of a life time and one that will be with us all forever!!!
