Its unbelievable that this Roman era colosium is still in regular use today! I saw it as part of the Olympic closing ceremony on TV and as luck would have it we were in the area and jumped on the tour! It's history is amazing and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable!

Excellent guide Frank! Tour was cut short because arena closed early for opera rehearsal. Arena is magnificent

Fab tour with very interesting information and lovely tour guide. We started with some facts about Verona before fast track into the Arena.
Jennifer_Q, May 2026
The guide was very nice and told us several key facts but all we could have googled, price was way too expensive - we do tours a lot comparable this was too pricey

It was wonderful to have Isabella give us the background history on the arena. She was very knowledgeable & funny. Then to be able to skip the line & get inside quickly was such a plus. Isabella continued to guide us with her knowledge & show us the arena. A must do!

It was a great way to see the Arena and enjoy some history provided by the guide. I would recommend this.

If one would like a very very basic cursory understanding of Roman amphitheaters and gladiators, then this tour should be sufficient, especially if one has limited knowledge or background in the subject. However, if you've traveled around Italy a bit and seen the Coliseum and other theaters and amphitheaters, then this will be quite basic and frankly boring, without any real "new" or interesting information, nor would you see any areas of the Arena that you would not see with general admission. The only real benefit is skipping the line. The guide was quite nice and knowledgeable, but I don't think it was worth the price.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that the tour and explanation did not fully meet your expectations. Our goal is always to provide added value through storytelling and insights that go beyond an independent visit, and we regret that this was not your experience this time.

Wonderful experience with our driver! Booking and coordination was a breeze. Highly recommended. We were family of 5 and the van easily accommodated us.

Knowledgeable guide (Frank), interesting history and a little humor thrown in. Price was right. Thanks, Frank!

Our guide Maria was great. Very informative. Liked that we spent about a 45 minutes with Maria learning about the arena and then had as much time as we wanted on our own.
Chris_K, Oct 2025
Be patient when the area is busy. Check where you are meeting.
Otherwise well worth missing the queue

Great trip and Frank was a very knowledgeably guide the Arena is best photographed in the morning before the crowds get there
Joe_A, Oct 2025
Frank gave a very nice tour! Our family enjoyed it very much. The history of the arena is quite amazing.

Frank was great! Quick tour that avoids the line and gives you a good launching point for an afternoon.

This is a very informative tour an he I did enjoy it. However, I was unaware that the majority of the tour would take place outside the arena. While I appreciate this is necessary while talking about the structure of the arena, this meant that only 15 minutes is given over to being inside the arena. I should also clarify that once inside the arena and once the tour is officially over, you are free to stay inside the arena as long as you wish and explore it on your own. Unfortunately I was unable to stay on after the tour as I was leaving to catch my flight but prior knowledge of the limited amount of time this then left me for being inside the arena would have helped me to make an informed decision as to whether or not to take the tour. I effectively got 15 minutes inside the arena for just short of £35. This did not make the tour good value for me.

It was a quick guided tour. We expected a little more information but it was overall good. Funny guide with good knowledge and fun facts of the monument. But wow… Italians speak fast! It was a challenge to follow.
Tiffany_M, Sep 2025
Frank was very engaging, informative and entertaining. I would recommend him. I didn't have a tour guide least year and I missed out on so many interesting facts about the Arena and Verona.

Built before the famous Colosseum in Rome, it is still in good shape and an space where concerts and other events are performed.
William_R, Sep 2025
Terrible tour guide! First of all, she shows up 10-15 mins late. The participants were able to find each other and were left wondering if we were in the wrong place. Finally, we begin the tour outside in the town square with her talking for about 30 mins, mostly about the opera, the opera, the opera!! She's obsessed with the opera performances that are being held inside in the amphitheater. Very little focus on the actual 2000-year-old Roman coliseum. We finally go inside and stand under some dark internal arches for another 15 mins -- more about the opera! Finally, several of us just walk away and tell her we're going inside the arena. We signed up for a tour of the Roman coliseum, not a tour of opera performances. It was ridiculous!

We took the extended walking tour with access to the arena. Our guide was very knowledgeable of Verona’s history and shared many interesting facts as we walked all over the city and through the arena. I recommend this tour for anyone interested to learn about Verona. Don’t skip going inside the arena. Fascinating!

Super friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who captured the attention of all our family (kids 8,10 and 13)

Very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Perfect length and amount of detail to get a sense of the history and still explore the place on your own without using up a whole afternoon.
jason_k, Aug 2025

Rich_C, Aug 2025
Priscilla added great history and background to the experience. Really enjoyed her knowledge and enthusiasm!
Brenda_S, Jul 2025
The arena is an amazing historical treasure and we were so glad to get more information from Isabella. Short and sweet tour outside then inside so we could wander around on our own after the tour was complete.
Joanne_M, Jul 2025
Frank was a really good tour guide and conscious of the heat. Very informative and great the tour left us inside the arena to see more at our own leisure.
Serissa_M, Jun 2025
Frank, our guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. At the end, I tried to offer him a tip but he wouldn't take it. I can tell he loves what he does!

Great information and perfect length. It was hot and muggy so the experience was very tolerable with kids.
