- Due to strict Italian laws that protect licensed guides, drivers can only comment and explain the sights from inside the vehicle, and are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle.
- Please note that if mass is taking place in the Basilica of St. Peters, entrance may be restricted. In high season, lines to enter the basilica can be very long. There is no fee to enter the church but shoulders and knees must be covered.
- MINIMUM NUMBERS apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.

For being in the hub of historical Rome we visited everything on the itinerary and ate lunch within six hours (3 hours was shuttling into Rome and back from the Port of Civitavecchia. Our driver Daniel was superb in navigating the cobblestone streets to get us within 1 minute walking distance of all sites. He was precise with directions of where to meet him when he dropped us off at the sites as well as explaining ticket requirements and waiting times to see the sites. He also warned us of pickpockets in specific crowded areas. Daniel provided us a lot of valuable information. We were offered plenty of water and had adequate restroom stops.
This tour was spectacular. The van pick up was right at the gangway of our cruise ship, Raffaella, our guide/driver was fantastic. I was traveling with my 83 year-old father with mobility issues and she was so accommodating. We traveled with another family and the small group was really great. Raffaella let us choose where we wanted to go and see so everyone had the experience they wanted. She took us to another place (Monument to Victor Emannuel II Complex) and arranged assistance for my father to get stair and elevator lifts to top floor while the other part of our group went into the Colloseum. She also allowed my father to stay back in the van when he felt he couldn't navigate the place we were stopping. I am so glad we booked this and would highly recommend for anyone who is not sure they can do the walking required but want to see the major sites. We saw all the big sites, Colloseum, Pantheon, Trivi, Spanish steps, Piazalle Navona and St Peter's square and had time to go into the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, The Pantheon, a church right next to the Pantheon that was absolutely beautiful, and St Peter's Basilica. It’s a great overview of the city. No time to get deep into any of the museums or monuments however, for a first time visitor to Rome this is the best option. Danielle, our driver was the best and knew how to get into every little nook and cranny. Also great suggestions for lunch and gelato!! Loved it!!!
Our driver, Fabio, communicated through What's App his photo and location for easy identification and pick-up at the cruise ship port. It was a little over an hour drive to the city of Rome, where we were taken to a lookout to get a great view of the city. We saw all the sights listed by Viator plus some! We are very grateful for the hospitality shown by Fabio. Our last stop was his favorite Gelato shop before dropping us off at our hotel. I left my hat in the van during the excitement of arriving and getting our baggage. The next day, my hat was delivered to the hotel! It was an essential item for touring in the summer and I'm happy to have it returned! Thank you!

Amazing. Highly recommend this tour. We saw all the sites and were able to get out and take quick pictures. If we wanted to we could have spent more time at one than the other. Our guide gave us the before and after photos to see what the buildings used to look like and provided us with the history of the sites. We had a great time. Highly recommend asking for Costinel to be your guide.

Our driver and guide Matt was fantastic. He picked us up promptly and had us to Rome in a little over an hour. We jumped right and started hitting all the highlights. He ensured we knew the best route to take, what to look for, best photo vantage points and had some great restaurant recommendations. We were in co tact with some friends who decided to take the ships big bus tour and they were miserable. We were wry comfortable in our 8 passenger van that was on full AC. Had a great day and we owe it all to Matt for his great hospitality and knowledge of the city and all the sights.

Matt is really helpful and willing to assist everything we need. he assisted two of us to get the taxi to the airport. The other family brought the Colosseum tickets and he tried his best to visit the entrance before time. he tells us everything he knows and we learn a lot from the tour. Driver was 30 min late for pick up from the cruise ship. Was just my daughter and I with another family. The family just wanted to eat so didnt see as many sights as we could. Every stop they had to eat so took more time. Driver would drop us off at a corner and tell us to go see stuff. No direction of where to go. Still had to use Google maps and missed stuff like paletine hill because I wasnt told it was in the same area. Would have been nice to have the driver stay with us and tell us historical facts of the area. Would have been nice to have been provided a map so i could have guided us places alone. Very disappointing.
An exceptional tour of the highlights of Rome. Note, we booked a driver not a tour guide. However, our personal driver, Loretta, explained to us the fascinating history of many monuments of Rome. Her professionalism and beautiful personality is truly an awesome combination. Loretta ensured the day was well-structured to give us time to spend at each site, but without wasting time hanging around. We can only describe it as the perfect tour. If you want to see several sites and understand some of the less obvious background knowledge of Rome, Loretta is just the person; she is superb. We were equally impressed with her expert ability to safely and efficiently navigate the busy roads of Rome. We loved every minute of this tour! Loretta, sei semplicemente la migliore.
Note: If you want to spend a lot of time at different sites such as queuing and going in the within the internal area of the Colosseum, you will need to be realistic about the time you have available. This tour is ideal for seeing several key sites - 'a taste of Rome'.

This was excellent way to see Rome in a day. Our tour guide, Matt, was excellent, and full of knowledge. Without the private transportation, and being with a family, we would not have been able to see half of the things we did on our own.

Our driver/tour guide was Costinel and he did a great job of showing us the highlights of Rome. All the famous spots were pointed out and described along with historical facts that made the tour educational and fun. We had a great time and had a lunch stop with great pizza. Great excursion. It was perfect with a personal driver and the small group. We saw all the sites in Rome and it was great having a van that could get in and stop in front or near every tourist site. More of transportation from cruise ship to sites around the city and back to cruise ship. Tour was hindered because of the Rome Marathon, so it was hard to truly review the tour.

Good overview tour of Rome especially when you only have 1 day from the cruise ship. You hit all the major sites. Our guide was good and was able to get us close to the sites so we didn’t have to walk a great distance. He provided good insight prior to seeing each individual site. Again this is an overview tour you do not have the time to spend a great deal of time at each historical site. We also had lunch at a restaurant in Rome that was good. I would recommend this tour if you’re interested in an overview of Rome and the major sites.

Vlad was a great tour guide/ driver. He knew how to get to locations, find close parking, and keep the schedule for return to ships. The van was nice, clean. His recommendation for an inexpensive dining location was excellent. If ever in Rome again, i will definitely try to use this company again.

A good way to scratch the surface in Rome if you have limited time as I did with a single cruise day in port. Take into account that it is at least an hour and a half each way into the city and then you have like half an hour at each stop. But I got to briefly enjoy the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain and St Peter’s Square - the big five!

Ricardo our guide was excellent, getting us to 10 sites in Rome in only 6 hours! He found us a tour slot for the catacombs, which was one of the highlights of the day.
My only criticism would be of the tour scheduling (not in Ricardo's control) . We were never given a pickup time but were asked when reserving the tour for our arrival time. We assumed that our pick up was between 7:30 and 8:30 am. When no one was there to meet us, we called and were told 9:15 was pick up time. We could have got an extra hour of sleep.

If you only have one day to visit Rome, we recommend this tour as a way to do. We were able to see every sight on our list, and a few more on the driver's list. He really knew how to work his way about town! Us adults older and younger enjoyed the blessings of this tour.
