Best way to experience a perfect day in port

Marvelous day with our guide who was supposed to be a driver to get us to several activities in the limited time off the cruise ship and instead shared his life as a Roman citizen as we visited multiple locations and dined in a very limited window. We highly recommend this approach to seeing Rome on a port day.

A Wonderful Way to See Rome in a Day

Truly seeing all that Rome has to offer would take days, if not weeks. But, if you want a good, clean, safe, and efficient way to see the highlights in a day coming from the cruise port in Civitavecchia, this is the way to go. A private car took us into the city and showed the sights with nearby parking. We pre-arranged a timed entry to see inside of the Colosseum and had a great experience there. We also got to see the Forum from several angles even though we did not go inside. We saw a bit of everything including St. Peter’s Square and the Trevi Fountain. One highlight might have been the beautiful Christ the Redeemer statue by Michelangelo in the Church of Santa Maria Soprano Minerva. The only negative was that they tried to steer us to a more tourist lunch but we begged off and enjoyed slow food at a Michelin recognized spot near the flower market.

Fast and enchanting tour

It was easy to do this tour in a short period of time in Civitavecchia Port during winter we were here only from 8am until 5pm. It was challenging to do everything but Emmanuel Fustaino could drive through the every highlights in Rome. He gave us plenty of time to go and take pictures. Cruise ship passengers, Emmanuel is your guide! He is a mazing!

We got off our cruise ship and Emmanuel was there at 7:45 when we got off the cruise ship and all 4 of us hit the ground running. He had a nice big van so me and my husbands and my grown children were comfortable! Emmanuel was excellent and knows where he is going and extremely knowledgable! He knows all the secret panoramic picture sites that are incredible. We had pouring rain the entire day, but he made it fun and had great suggestions. We discovered you can’t see the Colluseum and the Vatican on tours in one day and make it back to the ship.. Just a tip. We wanted too but it was pushing it. The colosseum was amazing! Great way to see as much as possible in a single day

Marco met us at the ship and took as to more historic sites than we imagined possible. He parked strategically for scenic photos and to get us close to entrances which was especially helpful for my husband who cannot walk long distances. He was quick to adapt to our preferences and recommended whether to explore the outside or the inside of site based on ticket cost and crowds. Marco shared about Rome past and present and willingly answered our questions, always with a smile. We did all this in the rain and he opened the car door with umbrella in hand. It was an excellent day and Marco is a fantastic driver and guide.

This was the best trip I could have ever booked for us to see Rome. Andrea the most wonderful driver, filled us in on all the history about what we were going to see next. Pulled us up right in front of the landmarks, we saw 10 times more than those who were on big busses. Roma was a beautiful city with crazy traffic and Andrea took excellent care of us all day and made it back to the ship in plenty of time. Thank you again!

Ambitious day in Rome

We had an agenda to see the Coliseum and Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel in the one day at Civitevecchia port on our cruise. Giorgia was helpful securing our skip-the-line tickets for each venue for the four of us prior to arrival. Emanuele was our wonderful driver who picked us up at our ship with all our tickets. He drove us to Rome sharing local history and suggestions for making our day the best possible. We were back to our ship in a timely manner, exhausted by our ambitious agenda but satisfied with what we accomplished with Emanuele's help. His skilled driving through the narrow streets was an adventure, negotiating routes to show us more than we expected and squeeze in a quick lunch. Good communication with Whatsapp, meeting places were clear. Highly recommend this tour if you want things customized or just a private small group tour day in Rome.

George is very warm and friendly and incredibly accommodating. We had two grandparents, three kids and two young grandkids and George was very understating and made off the beaten path stops for the kids. Saw all the sights quickly and was able to get us very close to all of the main attractions. Very clean vehicle and great driver. Also had car seat ready and wanting for youngest grandson. I would highly recommend. He picked us up coming off the cruise in port and delivered us to our airport hotel at the end of the day.

Excellent communication with the company. The car was as requested and required (due to my partner using a wheelchair). The driver was brilliant, so helpful, friendly and made the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. We had a fabulous time in Rome and felt relaxed despite the traffic and hustle and bustle. Our driver took us as close as possible to the sites which made life much easier due to navigating crowds in a wheelchair. Absolutely worth it.

Exceptional tour

Emanuele took us through the busy streets of Rome while we relaxed in the air conditioned van and enjoyed the commentary before he stopped at the sites. I have been on bus tours through Rome, but this is the first time I really saw and enjoyed the historical sites. Before, following the flag and bumping through crowds while trying to hear the guide was impossible. Then there was the heat. After telling him we were light eaters, he took as to a quiet restaurant where we ate a delicious light lunch in the shade. We strolled the local market afterwards, then continued our tour.

We booked this trip in advance of our cruise stop at Civitavecchia for Rome. I received an email almost immediately asking for our ship details, disembarkation time and details of any museum/attraction visits we may have already booked. I replied with all of our details, plus details of the points of interest we wished to visit. I was advised by return that I would be emailed the day prior to the trip with details of our driver. This happened exactly as promised. We were met directly off the ship and escorted by complementary port shuttle to our waiting vehicle. We were a party of 9 and during the booking process we found it was very difficult to get a private tour for more than 8 people but there were no issues here. Our mini van could easily have taken more guests and we had plenty of room to relax for the journey. The trip went very smoothly, traffic was kind and we were directed to look at points of interest along the way which was an added bonus we were not expecting. We were taken to our pre-selected points of interest and were always given clear directions and adequate time to make the most of the visit. We were given a contact number and could just text if we were finished sooner than expected. The driver and guide then returned within minutes. We were always asked what we wanted to do and our preferences were always accommodated. We were returned to the ship in plenty of time and delivered directly to the port shuttle to return to the ship. It was a well organised, faultless tour and we always felt looked after and that our needs were considered. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
