If you’ve never skied before or haven’t mastered the sport yet, this beginner-friendly cross-country ski lesson is for you. Learn the basics of skiing like a local in a scenic location just outside of Tromso, starting out on flat terrain, then progressing to small hills as you feel ready. With a small-group size and experienced instructors, you’ll receive tuition tailored to you and your needs.

- In case we have no snow in the area alternative activity or full refund of the tour costs will be offered.

- As the weather can change rapidly in Northern Norway to join this tour it is obligatory to wear warm and windproof clothes. Winter clothes are not included in the price of the tour, but can be rented separately at our rental center upon prior arrangement.
- From mid-February onward the sun can be surprisingly strong, especially because of the reflecting snow, so we recommend you also bring sunglasses and sun cream with you.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers

This is a great trip for anyone who has not cross country skied before or like me have cross country skied before but it’s been a very long time. We had a great instructor and it was fun to get skis on again.

Was a fun, fantastic day & introduction to skiing. Joana Was an excellent guide/instructor. Very patient and friendly. Halfway through the activity, we stopped for some Solbærtee (blackcurrant tea) which was absolutely delicious. Dress for cold weather but you will get very hot as skiing can be quite physically demanding. Would definitely recommend 10/10

A brilliant experience learning to ski in Norway. I had never been skiing, but Marta was incredibly kind, patient and helpful. A lot of fun if not a little scary initially, and the lefse was a great treat at the end too!

Having never put a pair of skis on before, this was exactly as described. A good introduction , with helpful guidance from the friendly instructors. We were hampered slightly by the weather on the day, but it was still a great experience in lovely surroundings. I definitely hope to put some skis on again soon.

We tried cross country skiing for the first time and had a really good time. Cris was our tour guide and he patiently taught us the basic skills. He also provided tips and feedback while we skied and had fun.
We were only 2 people who joined that day and appreciate that the company kept the tour.

This was our first time cross country skiing and it was so much fun! We were taken to a ski track just outside the city and given step by step instructiins by our knowledgable and patient tutor. We left feeling confident to give cross country skiing a further try.

We traveled to Tromso for a week to see the auroras. During the days we took several tours to enjoy the winter life in beautiful Norway. This was one of my top activities to do in Tromso. We had never ski before and our guide Heli was so patient and teached us step by step during a period of 4 hours all of the basics until we got it good enough to not fall every 10 min xD. It was soooo fun! I would definitely do it again. To be honest, I would book any activity with Tromso Outdoor if I'm ever back in Tromso, we did 2 activities with them and they are responsible, flexible, reliable and all the guides we met were easygoing and very knowledgeable. Plus, we loved the snacks they had for us 😋

We fell a lot! All 4 of us, aged between 20 and 57! 😂 Conditions were tricky after a couple of wild weather days with rain, rain and more rain and high temperatures and extreme winds. We’d had the previous day’s husky tour cancelled and we were panicked thinking that this activity was going to be too as we watched the snow disappearing from the ground in the city. As it was, a 5 minute drive uphill and there was the snow (although it was as hard as ice with the rain) The instructor was great, no nonsense and he was always on hand to give instructions and pick my hat off the floor when it shot off my head! It was a fantastic, fun couple of hours, where we belly laughed and got some great videos. We’re slightly battered and bruised afterwards but would do it again in an instant! We’re so grateful that the trip went ahead, thank you!

Excellent activity in Tromso. Our main goal of the trip was trying to see the northern lights, but we wanted some fun actitivies for the day time as well. This fit the bill perfectly. We enjoy alpine skiing, so we thought this wouldn't be as exciting, but we learned a lot and had fun doing it. Definitely a different skill set than downhill skiing! Our boys are 18 and 14, and they both said this was way better than they thought it was going to be - they had a lot of fun!

They should give Protective gear..
The only advantage with the trip is it’s close and almost within the city and other than that it wasn’t a good an experience. If the tour guide was better and proactive it would be better

I am sorry that your experience on the tour with us was not good for you. Sometimes we just need to humbly admit, that it is not possible for us to always meet all the expectations of our guests.
Your tour was guided by one of our most experienced guides, who works in the company on a permanent position, so we could not offer you any better guide.
Since you rise the concern of safety on the tour I would lie to refer to that with some additional information, as our guests and employees safety is our highest priority.
We do not provide the additional safety equipment on the ski trips on general basics, because judging from all our experience, and ski practice in Norway, it is not necessary. In the contrary - can give false feeling of security and cause even more danger.
We invest in the good quality skis, ski boots and poles to make sure equipment meets good safety standards.
We run the tours in the location that we find optimal for beginners, and have a lot of focus on giving good instruction how to participate in the activity in the safest manner.
Our guides make an accident report every time any accident or close accident occurs. We always assess reports internally and if needed evaluate our routines, to mitigate the risks we identify.
In spite of our best efforts, every outdoor activity carries certain level of risk of injury, and our dedication to run the tours in the safest possible manner mitigate it, but not remove.
Joining the tour means accepting these risks, and we would like to encourage everybody concerned of any aspects of safety on the tour, to contact us before the activity - we can then give more personalized information.
I hope that this will not stop you from trying other winter sports, and if you would like to give us another chance, I would be very happy if you could join us snowshoeing in the future.

Great experience. It was a quick 10min ride to the start of the trail. Lukas was very helpful and prepared us well. It was three hours of fun cross country skiing. We had never skiid before but were still able to have fun

It was an amazing experience , our instructor thomas was such a great teacher and guide , we learned in minutes! And enjoyed the rest of our evening skiing around the trails! We had a warm delicious drink and a delicious meal as well! Will recommend 100%!
