Excellent start time at...

YUHON_O, Jan 2026
Excellent start time at 8pm, leave you plenty of time to have dinner before the evening activity. The guide knows the area well to get the best views of the northern lights. Arrived at Karin’s cabin, give you the perfect shelter to keep warm and cosy while chasing the lights.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you so much. Hope to see you again.

Amazing experience!

Catherine_B, Jan 2026
This experience was so much fun! Karin is so friendly and welcoming! We saw a few faint auroras and although we would’ve loved to have seen brighter, the night was worth it even if we hadn’t have seen any at all. Her cabin was lovely and the food she provided was good as well. I highly recommend this tour! Much better than the big bus Northern Lights tours!

One of the best nights of my life

Esti, Mar 2025
I went on a Northern Night tour with Karim and the night couldn't have been any better. It was an 8 person group and I was travelling on my own, but the group atmosphere was warm and chatty. First of all, my tour was booked for Saturday night, and two days before Karim wrote to me to offer me to change the date to Friday, as both the weather and the aurora chances were going to be better. I luckily was able to change it and the night started with some huge auroras just as we were driving out of Tromso. Karim knew of a spot with less light pollution along the way and we could enjoy the lights for quite some time. Karim took photos of all of us with her camera (thank you!) and we explored the area as the lights were changing locations. It was great. Once the lights were dimmer we headed towards Hillesøy, where Karim had booked a cabin for us to get warm and have dinner. She told us that depending on the weather forecast she either goes to her own cabin or rents one (she has a couple different locations). We were able to see the lights once again when we arrived and she was checking for them throughout the way too, just in case they got stronger so we would stop. The cabin was very cozy. She lit a fire that quickly made the place warm and she took a big variety of food out for dinner: sausages, cheese, sauces, home made jam, marshmallows, etc. There was plenty of food for all of us. She even brought home made wine, it was delicious! Besides, I asked her a couple weeks before the tour about the availability of gluten free food in case I had to bring gluten free bread (I'm a gluten intolerant) and she told me she'd buy the bread herself, which I highly appreciated. During this time we went out of the cabin a couple times to see if the lights had came out again, which they did but in a fainter way. The strongest ones were the first ones. After having dinner and since the sky got cloudy, we headed back to Tromso and she left each of us at our accommodation (another guest and I were in Tromsdalen and she even took us all the way there). All in all, this tour offered me one of the best nights of my life. I'm so glad I decided to take this instead of a bigger bus tour, as the van could go to places where buses can't and as the atmosphere and the dinner made the whole night even more worth it. Thank you, Karim! Tusen takk!

Amazing northern lights your..

Kanica_J, Jan 2025
It was amazing. Karen was a very nice guide and host and the tour was kind di personalized in the sense that whenever we used to see aurora, she would herself stop the minivan so that we all could enjoy. Lovely cabin also :)

Wonderful experience very Well organized. Small and confortable minibus for maximum 8 people (we were 4). It is one of the few tour that starts at 8pm and this is a plus because it permits to have more time during the day to make other experiences. Another big plus is the availability of a typical norwegian cabin where we have stopped in the middle of the tour. It is a heated cabin where the guide has offered us hot dogs, snacks and hot drinks. You can go in&out the cabin, trying to see the northern lights without freezing. And finally the guide, Oscar, super kind and available for all our request. He has done professional photos during the night of northern lights and then the day after he has send them by mail to each of us! Very reccomended tour!

Thank you for nice words. Hope to see you again.

Not as much fun as we expected

veronica_s, Dec 2024
Karin was very friendly and optimistic and, being local, very knowledgeable about the area. We even started the trip an hour early to try and catch the lights since clouds were starting to roll in. It was cool going out onto the farther islands away from the city and the silence and just lack of noise out there is something special. We didn't go out on a good night (weak aurora activity and lots of clouds which isn't Karin's fault at all) but she did stop by the side of the road and we did technically see the lights, but it was just a faint line nearly invisible to the naked eye but all the groups got pictures. The lights only lasted maybe 10 minutes but we still spent something like an hour just standing on the roadside looking at nothing when it was getting cloudier and obviously nothing was going to happen again. Karin was taking pictures, but they really weren't worth standing around for. We weren't at a beauty spot, so the pictures are either just empty sky or the van on the side of the road. We eventually ended up going to a cabin for food but it wasn't Karin's. At the beginning of the trip she mentioned that her cabin was at a place with full cloud coverage so she found another one. We appreciated that, but it meant the cabin we used was just in some random persons backyard. Karin mentioned her cabin was bigger and the one we were in probably wasn't made to comfortably fit nine people so it was a tight squeeze and, since this seemed last minute, we didn't have plates to eat on. This cabin, unlike hers, also didn't have a bathroom. Men were told to urinate behind the cabin in the pitch black on a snowy incline. There was a portable toilet for women but it was frozen and inside a storage shed full of stuff and not much more comfortable than just dropping your pants in a bush. My boyfriend and I appreciate that Karin tried but it just felt like we didn't get nearly as good an experience as other reviewers did and, honestly, we didn't really have much fun or felt that we got our moneys worth. It felt like a pretty slapped together experience. I think if you get lucky with the lights OR you have a great cabin experience this tour is worth it but we didn't really have either. Even if you don't see the lights other tours might bring you someplace pretty or make you feel like you're having an adventure. All we really got was standing on the side of road and my boyfriend nearly falling over trying to pee in the snow.

So sorry to hear that you had a bad time. Sometimes it happens that not everything works as planned. The weather and the aurora. Hope to see you another time in better weather and aurora.

Skadi Adventure

Glory_E, Dec 2024
Had the moat wonderful experience with Karin and Oliver. Both were incredibly welcoming, responsive and went above and beyond to ensure we see the northern lights. The smallest details like preparing food and snacks in her cabin is 5 star and more. Thank you again Karin for making this activity pleasant. Cheers to Skadi Adventures!!!

Amazing Trip

KrishnaSunny_C, Nov 2024
There are some amazing benefits that this trip offers which makes it better than any other trip 1. The organizer has a private cabin (a small room that can accommodate 15 people) which gets used as base camp. That cabin has bonfire and toilet making the experience more comfortable 2. The guide is a local who has been living in Tromso for more than 30 years. She shares a lot of details about life at Arctics and Norway in general. She is highly knowledgeable 3. The guide serves home made food at the base camp which is delicious. 4. The guide is an excellent photographer and she is very patient with clicking as many pictures as you want Overall, I was thrilled with the trip and would strongly recommend

Karin is the experience!!

Karol_M, Nov 2024
This is not just a tour to look for the northern lights, this is an experience that you will never forget. Karin is the lightful, she is kind and so passionate for what she does, she took us for so many places because ski was so cloudy and was also hard snowing, we even tasted her apple pie with hot chocolate or coffee, actually she brought so many things to us, I was so worry that she left her husband without food at home lol. The space was magical, a little cabin with a campfire. We are so happy of being her first clients of Costa Rica!!

Response from Host, Nov 2024

I had a super time with you all. Hope to see you again:-)

A Magic Night Dancing with the Lights.

David_P, Oct 2024
The Aurora tour with Karin was a phenomenal experience that will be remembered forever. Even though it was not our originally scheduled date, Karin proposed a date change to a clear night with higher probability of success. And, boy, did she deliver. A few mins out of Tromsø and, voila, the magic happened. She knew exactly where to go, how to get the best sighting, and she took the most amazing pictures, which were available within a few hours after our return to our hotel. We have now broadly shared them to amaze family and friends. A great supplement, not available in most other tours was cooking in a warm typical Norwegian hut, which made it easier to cope with the cold dark night outside. Great balance of nature and culture to create a unique cozy atmosphere. Thanks Karin for been such a gracious guide. It was a privilege. We will highly recommend you to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.

Response from Host, Nov 2024

Ohh so many nice words, My hart is warm :-) Thank you so much. Hope to see you both again.

Unexpected Aurora on snowy night

Amanda_C, Oct 2024
Our guide Karin was very friendly and welcoming. She drove us an hour away to where the weather was expected to be clearer. We walked down to a beach and it was here we saw the Aurora. White shimmerings that turn to colour when we had our photographs taken. Breaks in cloud showed beautiful star lit sky. Afterwards drove to log cabin where we cooked sausages and had hot drinks. Very pretty cabin lit up with fairy lights. It snowed, hailed and could be windy at times but we had a great experience. Thanks to Karin for making it so. Would definitely go again.

Response from Host, Nov 2024

Thank you so much for nice words :-) Hope to see you again.

Glowing with the flow…

eliakim_m, Oct 2024
What a great and unforgettable experience—I highly recommend this tour. Ms. Karin was a great host to our small group!! The sky was cloudy this evening but she kept a positive spirit and knew where to continue the chase to witness the Aurora. As a reward, we all had a stunning view of the northern lights along the road!! We stopped and gazed the splendor and the magnificence of the Aurora Borealis. As an added bonus, Ms. Karin baked for us a delicious chocolate cake!! What a joyful moment indeed which I will always remember.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you so much. And Happy birthday to you🥰 Hope to see you again.

Best experience in Trlmsl

Christina_M, Oct 2024
Small and very personal tour with Karin. We drove about an hour outside of Tromso and got to our cabin, there were fresh food and drinks available as we stayed warm by the fire. This was such an amazing experience that I rebooked again for two nights later. Incredible experience, intimate atmosphere and friendly hospitality. I can’t stress enough about how amazing this experience was. BOOK THIS TOUR!

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you so much🥰 We had a super time. Keep in touch:-)

Magical night

Eric_L, Feb 2024
Karin was amazing start to finish! We had an incredible time. Karin made sure we had extra clothing to keep us warm. She brought us to her “camp”, which was a nicely appointed yurt- like little house complete with fire for keeping warm and roasting many different items she had available. It even has a bathroom! But the best part it was remote enough to see the magical Northern lights!! We had a beautiful show and Karin took beautiful pictures that she sent us promptly. Highly recommend

Great experience

Andrea_P, Feb 2024
Pleasant atmosphere, great hospitality, delicious local food and of course Northern Lights! Thank you for the tour!

Fantastic experience

Ina_I, Jan 2024
Karin is making the tour amazing. She is very kind and considerate, also open and easy to communicate with. Although seeing the lights is not guaranteed, she makes the experience special by taking good care of her guests. I also appreciated that she made pictures and even sent them to us before going to bed in the middle of the night, as well as dropping each person to the place he stays at. Thank you Karin, it was great to meet you!

Response from Host, Jan 2024

Thank you so much Ina. I had a super time with you too. Hope to see you another time :-)

Stop looking - book it now!

Katie_M, Jan 2024
The most fantastic trip with an excellent host. We were exceptionally lucky to see such a fantastic display of lights on our trip. Karin made sure to stop along the way if we spotted some lights. The cabin at her location was a lovely touch - a lit fire and some snacks went a long way to distracting from the -16° cold! The photos she helped us take were incredible and serve as such lovely memories for us now. If you're looking at which trip / company to book with, look no further. We couldn't recommend Karin enough!!

Amazing tour!

Mo_Z, Dec 2023
Karin was super helpful and friendly. The base camp was absolutely fabulous and food was provided. Really saw the Aurora dancing. It was an amazing experience.

Northern Lights

James_C, Nov 2023
Karin was wonderful. The Northern Lights were spectacular. It was great to have a warming hut to go to while waiting for the lights to come out. Karin took the 8 of us to her uncle’s property about an hours drive from Tromso. There is fire and toilet inside the hut. Food and hot drinks were available. I highly recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Nov 2023

Thank you so much for nice words. Hope to see you again :-)

The best of the best!

icwentzel, Mar 2023
Amazing opportunity to see the lights! Karin was a great host and guide, making sure we had the best chances at seeing the lights. She also provided a delicious meal for us at the cabin. The cabin is a key part of the tour because it gets VERY cold and the cabin provides a place for warmth during lulls in the light show. Karin went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience, and we did! Would do it again - couldn’t ask for anything better.

Response from Host, Apr 2023

Thank you so much :-) Looking forward to see you again another time.

Chasing the Northern Lights

wbufton, Feb 2023
What an amazing evening with Karin and my other 4 guests. We met her in the centre of town at 8pm and then drove for about 1 hour to her uncle's house where there was a hut on the hillside with a large fire in the middle of the room The Northern Lights did not disappoint and were out for most of the evening in varying directions and strength. There was warm drinks and food available in the hut for when the activity died down or people got cold. After a scenic drive back to Tromso she dropped me off at my Airbnb at about 2am. This is the second time I have been fortunate to see the lights and I really must recommend going with a small group tour as opposed to a large coach. Within 1 hour of getting back she sent copies of all the photos she had taken during the night. I would like to thank Karin for taking me and if I am fortunate to return to Tromso again I would have no hesitation using her services. Bil

northern lights tour.

CECELIA_T, Dec 2022
I think the tour guide did her best...but the auroras lights was weak. Light dinner was assorted deli meat, cheese etc., and BBQ of bananas with nutella. Never had it before, was good. It was a good experience. We had better luck another night with a different company.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

So nice to be your guide. So happy that you manage to do another trip, and got to see the aurora before you left. Hope to see you another time.

Great tour

Janet_L, Mar 2020
Karen was fantastic! I decided to try to see the lights one more time (had been unsuccessful with another tour company the night before). I only had one more night in Tromso and wondered if anyone still had openings. Karen's tour left a little later than others so I was able to book via Viator. I was the only person booked that day, and she was still willing to go! So it was just the two of us and she made it a fantastic night. We went to her grillhut and got to glimpse the Northern Lights for just a brief minute. She then continue to drive around to chase any potential breaks in the clouds. We didn't have any further luck, but Karen truly made it a fantastic night!

Response from Host, Mar 2020

Next time I hope you get the Aurora-show you deserve. Thank you so much for a super time together.😍

You must book this tour!

Tracy_K, Feb 2020
We had such an amazing trip - Karin couldn’t do enough to ensure the whole experience was more than we expected! It really was far beyond our expectations

Aurora Lights Watching

shragakrein, Jan 2020
Karin the guide is wonderful, we managed to watch the lights even though heavy snow was falling. Karin is a real pro.

Aurora perfect warm and full belly!

Corrado_R, Jan 2026
It was a perfect experience! It was just me and my girlfriend on this tour and Karin was super helpful and kind! He contacted us to ask if we wanted to bring forward the exit since the dawn had scheduled times on 21 and also picked us up at our hotel! The hut where you can rest and warm up and eat is the TOP, because it's hard to stay out in the cold waiting for the dawn! We found hot dogs, cheeses and homemade cake along with hot drinks all self service and were free to enjoy the experience as we wanted while Karin took beautiful professional photos of us (which she shot us after a few hours). Trust me, as location and comfort offered is perfect to enjoy the top experience.
