Bailey, Ivana and Viorel are really enthusiastic and friendly professionals who provide a great tour , that's also excellent value for money. The Lights on my night were spectacular and having the opportunity to see that, was wholly down to their efforts. Hopefully you'll be as lucky and grateful as myself.

    Magnificent

    Gurhan_C, Mar 2026
They drove us like 3-3.5 hours to find clear skies. And they found it and it was amazing. We were lucky it was one of the perfect nights for dancing lights. But if couldn't find that skies we would have missed it. I wish there were more stars than 5 so i can vote higher.

    Awesome experience

We had the best time in the tour with Marius and Soraya! They were great guides organizing everything and giving information about the northern lights. The conditions in Tromso weren’t good and we drove all the way to Finland where the chances of seeing the lights were higher and we ended up with an night full of northern light’s activity. It was amazing! We were the first tour to get to the spot with clear skies and the last one to leave (2 other tours arrive in between)… they offered cookies and drinks and even lit a fire pit! Best experience ever, defintily recommend it!

Informative but seeing Aurora is a lottery

From Blizzard to Northern Lights — An Incredible Night

    Eric_E, Mar 2026
We had an absolutely wonderful experience on the Northern Lights Big Chase Tour. Our guides, Owen and Soraia, were fantastic. From the moment we started the tour you could see how passionate they were about the Northern Lights. When we left Tromsø it was literally a blizzard, and we honestly thought there was no chance we would see anything that night. But their enthusiasm never dropped for a second. They constantly checked weather conditions, communicated with other guides, and kept searching for the best possible viewing locations. It was clear they genuinely wanted everyone on the tour to have the best experience possible, and they never gave up until we found the right spot. What made the tour special was how excited they were about something they see all the time. Their passion was contagious. Owen in particular was a great personality—fun to talk to and full of energy—and it made the long drive and cold weather enjoyable. The group size was also perfect. We had about 20–25 people, which felt comfortable and not crowded. Despite the freezing temperatures, they set up a campfire, which made a big difference, and Owen shared stories about the indigenous people and history of the region while we warmed up. And the best part: after all the effort searching for clear skies, we did see the Northern Lights, including patterns that even the guides said were unusual for them to see. One thing worth mentioning for anyone going on a Northern Lights tour: the bright green color you often see in photos is usually enhanced by cameras. To the naked eye the lights can sometimes look more gray or faint. That’s completely normal, and the cameras pick up the colors much more strongly. It’s still an incredible experience to witness. Overall, this tour was memorable, exciting, and very well run. Owen and Soraia’s dedication and enthusiasm really made the experience unforgettable.

    Fantastic lights tour

We had a great tour with guides Bailey and Ivana and driver Viorel. Our guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, with a lot of positive energy. They found clear skies despite not fantastic conditions, took wonderful photos, served hot drinks and biscuits, and built a fire. We got very lucky and saw a fantastic lights display. The bus was warm and comfortable. I would recommend having a large meal beforehand, because the trip was 5:20pm-1:20am and you are not allowed to eat on the bus; it was too cold to remove our gloves to eat while waiting outside for the lights.

Saw the lights thanks to their efforts!

    Amanda_K, Feb 2026
We booked the big bus for our second northern lights tour since the mini-bus was booked. The benefit of the mini bus is that they can take you places big busses can’t park and it’s less people to wrangle so you can move quicker. Our bus had maybe 25ish people on it with a bathroom so it wasn’t too bad. The weather looked very doubtful but because of their network of drivers and other guides they found us a spot the big bus could park and we were able to see the lights for quite a while! We had a fire and hot drinks & cookies. They took photos of everyone under the lights too. We got back into town around midnight. Definitely would recommend to increase your chances of seeing the aurora while in tromso!

Your led down a path in the pitch dark with the tour guide racing ahead But did experience the northern lights

    Great

    Lucy_B, Feb 2026
It was a really cloudy evening sis didn’t hold out much hope but the guides tried so hard to choose the right location. We were rewarded eventually with the lights. A great evening but as others have said, coach very warm

    Amazing!

    Sam_D, Feb 2026
The experience was great, we had been looking forward to seeing the lights for a long time and we were luckily enough to experience it! All of the guides were really brilliant, extremely friendly, and super knowledgeable.

    Great aurora tour

    Yi_L, Jan 2026
Soraia and Michiel took us to a great viewing location where we were able to see the aurora. During the experience there was some great information provided. Was pretty well organised and we found the guides to be quite engaging. Soraia especially took some great photos and these files were included for free. Even though it is a big bus and there were quite a few people, the experience was overall good, just a bit more crowded.

The tour guides, Jefta and Soraia were superb and Rafael was an excellent driver. The tour guides were very warm and welcoming, very organized, and knowledgeable. The photos they took were terrific. I highly recommend this tour!

    Great Trip

Great trip. I’m happy we chose this one on the day we did. Alex and Tessa and the bus driver were great hosts and were very lively. Alex kind of reminded me of Steve Irwin for the Auroras. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, and had captivating explanations. I recommend buying this even directly through the company’s website than the tourist websites. The website costs 1200 NOK while the tourist websites are around 1500 NOK. The company’s website is chasinglights.com

Amazing experience! Dreams come true 😊

It was truly amazing experience! The show was spectacular! Big thanks to Soraia, Alex and Ivan!!!!😊

The most amazing view of the Northern Lights

    Kathy_M, Jan 2026
Our big bus trip turned into a minibus chase but this turned out to make for a very friendly atmosphere as we were asked to introduce ourselves. We were all from very different parts of the world. Meda, our guide, was amazing and knew exactly which location(s) we should travel to. Supported by driver Brian she took us to three different spots. As an 81 year old this was a bucket list trip having previously failed to see anything much a year ago. My daughters and I saw the most wonderful activity, quite mind blowing and Meda took photos of everyone with fantastic backgrounds. Her patience in finding the right spots and waiting for activity was exceptional. She was also very knowledgeable about the stars and planets, as was Brian, and they pointed them out while we were waiting. On our final stop Meda and Brian lit a fire and served hot drinks to keep us warm. They spoke to everyone and their enthusiasm made the evening even more enjoyable. During our stay in Tromso we have made three trips, including seeing the reindeer. We have been lucky enough to see the lights on each occasion but they were most spectacular on this occasion. Highly recommend Meda and Brian, a great team.

Seeing the northern lights was an amazing experience! Be sure to pack as many layers as possible as it was freezing. Big thank you to nick and the driver.

    Overall great experience

    Brittany_G, Jan 2026
Great experience for the most part...with some caveats. Went on a clear night and saw lots of light activity. We had two guides - dont remember the male guide's name and Soriya. They were very knowlegeable about astronomy, very helpful, friendly, accomodating, and took lots of great photos to share with everyone. Some minor downsides: 1. Instructions for pick up are not super clear. It just says meet at gate 5 at the tromso bus station. That means outside in the #5 bus parking spot. Luckily we went early, waited outside, and asked people if they were going on the same trip. Other companies have clearer meeting instructions so they could really improve on that. 2. it lasts quite a while and i feel like most people were done an hour + before we actually left. Getting back to the hotel at 1 to 2am can wreck havoc for plans the next day, so prepare accordingly. 3. It is a treacherous walk for those that are not agile. The site that we went to was down a hill (in the snow) to a lake. This is in the dark and becomes slick climbing up and down the path. There are ruts in the snow, falling on ice patches, etc. I expected a field or something flat. 4. On the way home, the bus gets so hot that you have to basically disrobe down to your bottom layer. Heat stroke level. I know that sounds like a lot of bad, but overall it was a great experience!

    Mother Nature Undefeated

We spent 11 hours trying to find the Northern Lights. Found them for a few minutes. The lads did everything they could do make it a successful trip but they can't change the weather. If the above is going to annoy you I would give it a miss. Alex and Jaffa were great guides.

Avoid this tour at all costs

    Emma_S, Jan 2026
My husband and I were so disappointed and honestly quite outraged with this ‘tour’. Appreciate the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed but the forecast that evening said 100% cloud cover yet instead of cancelling the tour and refunding our £302 they went ahead with it knowing we didn’t stand a chance of seeing the lights. Instead they drove us 4 hours into Finland knowing we would have to drive all the way back. The temperature on the bus was sweltering and the seat belts were tight and uncomfortable. We didn’t get back to our accommodation until nearly 4am in the morning which meant we were tired all the next day. It was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had when travelling. The guides were nice guys and very knowledgeable but the tour should not have gone ahead. The 9 hours we wasted driving to and from Finland could have been much better spent exploring beautiful Tromso.

Great Guides! Tough experience with so many peoe

    Joseph_A, Jan 2026
We enjoyed the trip primarily because our guides were very experienced and knowledgeable. However, going in such a large group took away from the experience a bit. People were fighting over spots to take pictures and view the lights, asking for many pictures from the guides and taking a bigger bus somewhat limits the places you can go to. Everything that was in the control of Marius and Ivanka was excellent, they did a phenomenal job. I wish we would be able to book the same experience with them again with 15 people as opposed to 50.

Great views of the northern lights

    Tom_M, Jan 2026
We went on 2 separate trips to see the Aurora, this was our second favorite but still really good. What fell just short is we do wish we had the thermal suits and better drinks/snacks. But that is somewhat splitting hairs. We didn't need it, but due to a smaller group size they changed from a large bus to a minibus and so we didn't have a bathroom on board. The team did a good job of communicating and finding a good spot, and we got great views of the aurora.

It was amazing experience, Nik and Taylor were too Good. They did their best and took nice pictures under the aurora. I wish them all the best and A Very Happy New Year.

We did get to see the Northern Lights, which were amazing. The team were great and energetic, the pictures were really good. It was a long bus ride into Finland. (Maybe go to Finland instead of Tromso as your start point to see the lights). It was quite distressing getting back to Tromso at 3 am and no way home. If you are not walking distance to your hotel beware.

    great

It was a great experience. Bailey and Taylor were energetic, well-organized, and a positive, smart couple. We got very beautiful and impressive photos from them. Absolutely recommended for the tour, even with unpredictable weather—you never know! We truly admire and appreciate their work 👍👍

Best Aurora chasing experience with excellent guidance of Bailey and Taylor, whom also avid photographers. Not to mention our excellent driver, Jamie and the Chasing Lights Team supporting us in the background. High energy and high spirits all the way made the trip very memorable and fun! We experienced a great and massive Aurora. Will treasure this trip for the rest of our lives! Thank you again Bailey, Taylor, Jamie and the Chasing Lights Team!!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I generally use a lot of positive expressions and words, but there are simply not enough to describe how amazing this experience was. Truly emotional - in a good way. It had been snowing most of the week so this was my last night in Tromso, and I could only hope that the team of experienced Aurora chasers would find a gap in the cloud - and they did! We drove for about two hours, around and south of Tromso, until finding a huge field full of snow about 2 feet deep. The Aurora started slowly coming in from the distance and then danced directly above our heads. They came in waves, so we were there for about 1.5-2 hours. It was magical. The guides lit a fire and gave us some warm blackcurrant juice. This could not have been a better way to end my 6 days in Tromso, and the photos will forever make me smile.
