We had a wonderful tour through the fjords nearby Tromso. Although the weather made for icy roads, we always felt safe during the ride. The reindeer were a highlight.

This is the best fantastic tour we have ever had. Though it is for small.group but luckily on that day we had a comfortable group of 4 for the tour. We had touch on almost all things and scenery before it became dark as sun sets early during winter. We caught a cab from our hotel Moxy and made our way to the meeting point outside scandic hotel. The whole trip was very fantastic we also had a short meal picnic prepared by the company Wandering Owl. And it was really awesome. Oh by the way our tour guide did manage to capture all the beautiful photos with us in it. Fantastic.All in, there is no tour I can imagine having where the guide will show us those beautiful Fjords and places in Tromso and at the same time prepare for us a light meal.refreshment and also take some beautiful photos for us.we were lucky though it was snowing in that day so we could see how the weather was changing behind those fjords.Highly recommended. No regrets.

We were in Tromso for a week trying to see the Auroras. Unfortunately, the weather got pretty nasty for about 3 days during this week. We had this tour scheduled and many other tours had canceled us due to weather conditions. Thankfully they didn't. Even though it was rainy and windy all day, our guide Evgeni was able to improvise a scenic route that was very enjoyable. He was very easy to talk to and had lots of interesting stories about the places we visited in the Kvaloya area and Tromso. He took nice pictures of all of us and was timely sending them to us. If we are ever back in Tromso, we'll definitely book another tour with Wandering Owl.

It was tricky to rate this, because our tour guide Henrik was worthy of 10 stars, not just 5. However, we have to judge the complete experience against what we paid for it, so we've settled on 4 stars.
Pros:
+ Henrik was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and willing to stop wherever we wanted so we could get photos of the areas we passed.
+ Professional photos (taken by Henrik) were excellent quality, and we really appreciated his enthusiasm for getting the right shots.
+ The time of the trip was perfect (10am-2.30pm) for the minimal daylight. The weather was clear most of the time too, which meant we got to see a lot of the vista.
+ We were two of a group of 6, which meant we got more time to ask questions and made to feel a bit more exclusive.
Cons:
- The lunch we were given was poor. It was absolutely freezing outside, and we were given a single gluten free small bread roll with cucumber and hummus in it, along with a hot drink. We were also given a homemade biscuit, which was rock hard and tasteless.
- The tour itself wasn't what we thought it was going to be. We had expectations of a more scientific trip, filled with facts about the area, and nature, etc. However, we heard more about Henrik's time in the army because a guest asked him about it. While this was still interesting, it wasn't what we expected.

The entire trip was so memorable, seeing reindeers in people's backyard. Having lunch at the desolate place surrounded by mountains and lakes and the snow falling was absolutely fabulous.

Hendrix was an excellent guide! We saw easily 100+ reindeer, beautiful sunrise, and had a lovely picnic lunch. The guide also provided tons of recommendations throughout Tromso and Norway

A MUST while in Tromso! To be in the Gateway to Arctic and not to see the fiords and the natural landscapes would be such a shame. A lot of people just stay in the town - do not make this mistake.
This tour is for half a day - from 10 am till around 2:30 pm, so very easy to fit into your schedule, and not too physically demanding, even if you just got back from the northern lights tour at 3 am the previous day ;)
It covers the most beautiful spots in neighboring islands, the drive from Tromso is not very far and even the road trip is picturesque of its own.
Our guide was Bart - friendly, experienced guide with immense knowledge about northern Norway, including the everyday life of people living here. He speaks very good English and he drives safely, which is extremely important, especially in winter months.
But the absolute best were his photographs - he is a professional photographer so the pictures you get after the trip (by the way very quickly, just the next day) are just amazing and make a perfect souvenir of your trip.
Do not hesitate to book this trip even if the weather is seemingly not good - the nature is still beautiful, and the pictures may turn out even more special because of that gloomy weather :)

The attempt to re-schedule for the following day or use the $320 payment towards another excursion the following day due to late docking of our cruise. We got: Our cancellation policy is clear. We had no way to contact them from the ship in the 24-hour window, since the notice to dock came too late. We lost the entire amount.

Fantastic trip from start to finish! Gerard was a great guide - he was very knowledgeable about the local area and took us to beautiful spots far away from the usual tourist areas. The scenery was spectacular and it was interesting to find out more about the scientific research. We stopped for a picnic which was very tasty and it was a bonus to receive really high quality photos after the trip. The pick up was really easy - right in the center of Tromso and next to the cruise shuttle bus stop. Would highly recommend!

We had a very small group of just 3 people, so it was a lovely intimate experience. Gerard was friendly, knowledgeable about Norway and able to answer questions about the nature, the history, the culture and our conversations were great. The landscape was beautiful and he paid attention and made many stops when he saw a view that would be good for a photo or something interesting for us to see. It was a good use of time and we got to see areas we may not have been able to visit if left to our own devices. The lunch on the "beach" was lovely and simple, and overall this tour was worth the price.

Great tour. Unfortunately, we’ve attended a similar tour a day earlier…..I would have given it a 5 star.. Lukas our tour guide was great. He loves to talk and kept us entertained the whole trip.
The waiver was long and terrible! Please get rid of it. It scary as if we’re expected to have an accident during the trip.

I highly recommend this tour to those interested in snapping good photos of fjords and snow-covered mountains. It is also a good opportunity to know more about the locals, their history, livelihood, etc. Florian (from Wandering Owl) was a superb guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared useful information and about the are, the people and northern lights. He was friendly and very helpful and caring especially to elders.

This tour offered us the best view of the gorgeous fjord an arctic ocean landscapes, even more so than the fjord cruise. Gordon was a terrific guide and tailored our route to our particular interests. Because we had 6 in our family group, it ended up being a private tour. Gordon's knowledge of marine mammals was coincidentally very helpful, as we saw white-sided arctic dolphins and pilot whales in one fjord. Highly recommend as a way to get out of Tromsø a little ways and see the fjords on a relaxed tour of the area.

The weather was windy, cloudy and snowy. Our tour even had to be postponed an hour due to weather conditions but it was spectacular. Our guide Virgil went out of his way to make sure we got beautiful views despite the weather. Virgil was so knowledgeable about all things regarding Tromso and northern Norway! I booked a wrong date by mistake and upon arrival to the meeting point realized that our tour was 1 week later. Luckily, the tour guide Max and the entire tour operator were very accommodating and allowed us to join the tour on that day. Max was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of interesting information during the tour. Also, he took professional photos and shared them with the group. We were taken to the absolutely breathtaking scenes. Max drove us very safely and being a small group (just 7 of us), it felt almost like a private tour. Highly recommend it !

Relaxed. Could stop wheñ we wanted to take photos. Our guide David was lovely to chat to and went out of his way to find 'Reindeer' for us to see.
Only negative is more research needed by company to identify toilets. 6 hours was unreasonable without a toilet stop....mixed group including kids!
