Monta was amazing. He listened to our interests and tailored the 4 hours to our needs. We saw the tourist highlights mixed with the hidden gems. He shared culture with our interests and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend Monta if you want to see and know about the Anime and Manga highlights.

Our guide, Toshiki, took us on an immensely enjoyable tour around Tokyo including a beautiful walk along the Sumida river. Toshiki catered the tour to our needs and showing us sites that we had not yet visited in our previous days of exploration.

We just completed a private Tokyo tour with Sherilyn (“Custom Highlights and Hidden Gems”), and it exceeded all expectations. In just 4 hours, she managed to give us a rich, well-paced experience that included multiple shrines, the iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing, and even the Godzilla Information Map in Shinjuku—plus many other interesting stops along the way.
Sherilyn was absolutely on a mission—in the best possible way. She maximized every minute, ensuring we not only saw a lot but also understood the history, culture, and context behind each location. It never felt rushed, just incredibly efficient and engaging.
What really stood out was her communication and professionalism. She reached out via WhatsApp well before our arrival in Tokyo, making coordination easy and giving us confidence going into the tour. During the tour, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does.
We logged over 13,000 steps (per my Apple Watch), which says a lot about how much ground we covered—but it was worth every step.
If you want a guide who will go above and beyond to give you a meaningful, high-value experience in a short amount of time, Sherilyn is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

Hiroko was a wonderful guide. She helped us navigate our dirst day in tokyo with ease and entertainment. We covered so much in one tour and she also made sure we had time to stop for a tea or lunch along the way. What a great day seeing the sites.

Our tour with Tomo was a great way to start our trip - especially as first time visitors to Tokyo. We really enjoyed the walk with her as she explained many Japanese customs. It was just what we were looking for - an introduction to the city and culture - and the bonus of learning how to navigate the subway system!
She explained the difference between shrines and temples and we experienced entering each. She took pictures and sent them to us after the tour was over. Tomo was our first contact in this amazing city and we truly appreciate her time and all the detail that got packed into 3 hours!

Sherilyn hosted our tour and was excellent. We had a wonderful time. She worked hard collaborating with us to set a great itinerary for the tour. We saw everything we asked to see, plus more. Sherilyn is very personable and informative providing a lot of information along the way, including history and architecture insights. She even found some great views of Cherry Tree blossoms. Our guide, Shoko, was AWESOME!!! She was highly communicative before our tour in order to prepare a tour around exactly what we wanted to see. We got to see lots of places off the beaten path!! Even after the tour was over she put together other places for us to visit and restaurants for us to try!! I highly recommend putting your time in Shoko's hands!!!

Chiara was a joy! She was patient, and extremely flexible!!! She was also kind! I was having some pain, and she was understanding when I made requests to sit down, numerous times!
She has an obvious command of the city, with all its subdivisions! She is also extremely knowledgeable with regard to Japanese culture!
At the end of the tour,, she waited with me, until my Uber arrived!

This tour was absolutely the highlight of our time in Tokyo. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and could answer every one of our obscure questions about history, art, language, and philosophy. I cannot recommend this tour enough. I do sometimes write negative reviews (see my profile), so please trust me when I say that this is just an amazing tour!!

Justine was so sweet! She had a lot of information about Tokyo and its history. She made me feel very comfortable as someone who has never been here before and explained everything very thoroughly. Honestly, it felt like I was just chatting away with a friend! That’s the comfort you want to feel when you’re somewhere new, completely by yourself. I didn’t really have an itinerary of things to do and didn’t even see Justine’s email of her wanting to set up one 😆 she chose great places that really made me get out there! Would definitely tour with her again.

Tomo was an excellent tour guide for our family on our first day in Tokyo. She contacted us beforehand to see what was important to us. We wanted to visit some of the traditional tourist sites as well as some of the more local out of the way sites and she planned this all for us. Also she came to our hotel to collect us, she assisted us to buy our IC card and showed us how to navigate the trains. On top of that she gave recommendations for dinner that evening.

Amir our guide arrived on time and took us on a tour that matched our interests.
Fish market, gardens , temples and food markets. Amir is very knowledgeable about Japan and Tokyo city. Having spent 4 years working here he was very passionate about what Tokyo can offer . He explained in detail how Japanese people live and work and how friendly and respectful live in Tokyo is .

Even though our guide was a lovely chap I’m afraid that I can’t possibly recommend this tour. Our guide’s grasp of English, and of Japanese and Tokyo history, seemed seriously lacking. We had a 2 hour tour of Ometosando, the Meiji shrine, Takeshita Street and the Shibuya Crossing but during this period very little information on the history of these areas or what made them special was proffered. As I say, I feel bad about writing a negative review as our guide was a great guy and helpful with a few recommendations etc but he seemed to see his job as largely a photographer without a camera. We have been on many, many good walking tours of European cities (paying a fraction of the £135 we paid for this Tokyo tour) that have been far, far more informative and comprehensive than this Tokyo tour. My advice would be to save yourself the money and go around these areas yourself with a selfie stick. Be warned that in addition to the above fee, you will also need to pay the taxi fares for you and your guide as you go around. Overall, I feel a bit ripped off after that tour.

Being elderly, we often prefer to tour by car but in the case of Tokyo, I don't think it would be possible to enjoy or appreciate much of what this huge city has to offer. So walking with an English speaking guide offered the best way to get a taste of Tokyo in a short period of time.
We only had one full day there and our guide Tim, who spoke good English contacted us almost immediately after making the booking to find out what our main interests were so that he could tailor the tour to our needs. His communication was excellent and we had a rather tiring but most enjoyable day.
