This trip was virtually a full island tour, showcasing the highlights of the island. We travelled all over La Gomera and have got to say it is a beautiful island and well worth a visit. We were taken to a lovely restuarant for lunch in the National Park which was not included in the tour costs but was extremely reasonable priced (priced by item ordered) and the food was lovely with large portion sizes. You could order exactly what you wanted and the menu was varied so I think most people could find something to eat. The only downside to this tour is that the tour guide was speaking in Spanish throughout the tour and then translating into English. However, it seemed that the Spanish were getting a lot more information about the island than we were. This could be due to maybe not knowing how to explain everything in English but it was a little disappointing. Overall though the trip was well worth it, and we all had a great day.
Very good tour. Incredible scenery. We managed to drive above the clouds and view them from above. Great guide. We enjoyed it.
This was a wonderful way to see La Gomera. The group today was only small (4 of us + guide), the transport was very comfortable & our guide Basso was excellent. Basso was very knowledgeable as to how the island & its stunning scenery were formed. The different levels of ecological environments were well explained & how the people of La Gomera are endeavouring to maintain it. Lunch wasn’t provided but a stop at a small restaurant in the National Park was on the itinerary. Prices were not expensive & the food was good. You could try some local dishes if you were adventurous. The itinerary was varied & comfort stops had been planned in. The weather was fantastic - clear blue skies so you could see El Hierro, La Palma & Teide on Tenerife clearly. Basso was a little disappointed with it as with it being so good as we couldn’t really see why the environments had developed as they have. We thoroughly enjoyed our snapshot of La Gomera.

From start to finish, this tour was executed flawlessly. Basso somehow managed a diverse group in three different languages with total ease, never once making anyone feel left out or secondary. Loved this trip! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to Los Christianos to catch the Fred Olson over to La Gomera - a fab trip around the island expertly narrated by Bassos. We had a fab fab day! Stunning views of Teide! Definitely worth taking layers of clothing because it gets colder as you get higher up the island! Breathtaking scenery :)

The tour guide was good and very knowledgeable. The tour itself just wasn't terribly interesting. It essentially was just a drive through of the island. I thing for people that just want to stay on the bus most of the time to see scenery from a very hot bus will enjoy it, but otherwise it just wasn't great. Many other amazing activities are available and Id choos them.

Would definately recommend this tour. Basso, our guide very informative and interesting to listen to. Stunning scenery on La Gomera and the tour encompassed many highlights and contrasting climates. I think we also benefited by being in a smaller group rather than the big coaches. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that our lunch stop was chaotic. Just after our small group arrived several coaches turned up and service in the restaurant was a shambles although our tour guide did step in and assist the restaurant staff. Pick up and drop off service for our hotel was also greatly appreciated.

Really the only realistic way to see La Gomera in a reasonable amount of time, because it’ll take you too long to find the good stuff on those twisty, mountain roads. Very interesting contrast in microclimates in different parts of the island. Basso is a good guide and you’ll see everything that’s important in a single day. Don’t miss the Columbus statue in San Sebastián. (This was his last port of call before leaving to “discover” America.)

La Gomera may look small on the map, but its winding mountain roads, dramatic landscapes and constantly changing microclimates make it an island that is much better understood with someone who knows the route well.

We were so glad we booked this small group experience. Only 9 on our tour. We had a chance to see more places and get to talk to our fellow travellers, which was fun.
Basso our guide was excellent in every way. Knowledgeable and personable. He kept us together and on track for the timetable.
The minibus was a comfortable Mercedes and expertly driven up some very windy roads. But we felt safe in the hands of our driver.

Basso was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We fully enjoyed every minute of this tour. Even though the weather started out hazy and foggy that day on La Gomera, the sun did come out eventually and we enjoyed some incredible views. The restaurant he took us to was absolutely fantastic. Was very interesting and Basso was an amazing tour guide providing tons of information about La Gomera, the Canary Islands generally, and anything else we asked him about. Was a long day, but it’s the only way to do a day tour from Tenerife and see as much as we did. Our day was a bit behind schedule due to a delayed ferry, which meant we had less free time at the end before the final boat, which was a bit disappointing but not the tours fault!

It was a beautiful day trip by ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera. This island is so surprising with diverse vegetation and ecosystems depending on the altitude. The driver and guide were very competent. We got a nice picture of the origin of the island and the daily life here.

Hartelijk dank voor deze mooie review! 😊 La Gomera verrast inderdaad veel bezoekers met haar enorme verscheidenheid aan landschappen, vegetatie en microklimaten. We zijn erg blij dat jullie niet alleen van de natuur hebben genoten, maar ook meer hebben kunnen ontdekken over het ontstaan van het eiland en het dagelijkse leven van de bewoners. Het was een plezier om deze bijzondere dag met jullie te delen!
18 mensen moeten in een mini bus: Die lijkt gemaakt voor kinderen. De stoelen zijn veel te klein, de beenruimte is te klein en het plafondpaneel drukt bijna op je hoofd (ik ben 1,76 m en 67 kilo). Maar het ergste is: het raam begin bij je benen en eindigt op ooghoogte waardoor je helemaal niet goed naar buiten kunt kijken. Het grootste deel van deze dag zit je in die bus dus naar buiten kijken is belangrijk. Ik ben onderuit gezakt gaan zitten met mijn knieën naast de stoel voor me om zoveel mogelijk te kunnen zien. Wat is hier VIP aan: waarom betaal ik zoveel extra? De gewone grote tourbus met veel toeristen had veel meer ruimte en beter zicht. Overigens stopten we op precies hetzelfde moment bij de high lights als de massa toeristenbussen dus dat was ook niet zo VIP. Dan de gids: iemand die niet geïnteresseerd is in zijn groep, die nooit vraagt of wij vragen hebben en die de hele tijd zijn telefoon laat afgaan en privé gesprekken gaat voeren (zelfs tijdens zijn monotone verhalen over de vegetatie van het eiland, wanneer hij nog midden in een zin was). Hij beende ook met grote stappen vooruit als er weer een uitkijkpunt was zonder om te kijken of de oude mensen van de groep hem konden bijhouden (ik hield hem wel bij dus ik spreek niet voor mezelf).

Bedankt dat u de tijd heeft genomen om uw ervaring te delen. Het spijt ons dat de excursie niet aan uw persoonlijke verwachtingen heeft voldaan, maar we willen graag enkele punten verduidelijken voor toekomstige reizigers.
Onze excursie wordt uitgevoerd met een goedgekeurde minibus voor kleine groepen. Juist dankzij dit type voertuig kunnen wij routes en wegen gebruiken die voor grote touringcars niet toegankelijk zijn. Ons programma verschilt daarom aanzienlijk van de standaardroutes van grote bussen. Alleen bij enkele belangrijke plaatsen, zoals Roque de Agando en Laguna Grande, is het normaal dat verschillende excursies elkaar ontmoeten.
Het small-group/VIP-concept betekent niet dat we alle toeristische plaatsen exclusief voor onszelf hebben, maar wel dat we met minder gasten reizen, flexibeler kunnen stoppen, meer persoonlijk contact hebben en delen van La Gomera kunnen bezoeken die grote touringcars niet kunnen bereiken.
Wat betreft de uitleg over de vegetatie: het Nationaal Park Garajonay is wereldwijd bekend om zijn unieke natuur, laurierbossen, ecosystemen en microklimaten. Het uitleggen van deze flora en natuur is daarom een essentieel onderdeel van een begeleid bezoek aan het Nationaal Park, naast de geschiedenis en cultuur van La Gomera.
Wij nemen uw opmerking over telefoongesprekken tijdens de excursie wel ter harte. In sommige gevallen kan een gids vanwege operationele omstandigheden een noodzakelijke oproep moeten beantwoorden, maar uiteraard proberen wij onderbrekingen tijdens de uitleg zoveel mogelijk te beperken.
