You will need jumper or coat and decent shoes. Its 2300m at start of cable car.gift shop in village has quality items.i was not well with height and guide really looked after me and found a good spot to rest. Even sold my ti Cket so i could ha ve refund on cable car.

Modern clean coach, plenty of stop off points for rest breaks and photos. Very good and informative tour guide. Luckily we had no clouds at the top and the the ques were very short for the cable car. The gift shop had nice items for sale and although the restaurant was pricey the quality of the food was very good.

Mount Teide & Cable Car

We considered it a little pricey. Also, you were told you had 2 hours at the top, then were given a slot for the cable car, but you had to queue for 50 minutes for. On the way back despite bringing it to the attention of the tour guide and coach driver the journey was insufferable, as the air con wasn't working.

Incredible views make the...

Incredible views make the journey worthwhile. Tour guide was great. Just be aware that if you are staying in Golf de Sur then realistically you are getting up before 7 and not getting back until 4 so it is a long day. Also pay attention to the guidance on clothing. It was 3 or 4 degrees up there and with the windchill it is freezing.

Fast-paced tour with stunning scenery and excellent guides

This was a top experience for me. The views of and from Mt. Teidi were outstanding. The cable car was fantastic and sendero 12 at the top was magical. You could see several other Canary Island from up there. Ari and the driver were great. They kept us on time and ahead of most of the crowds. The food and drink available to purchase were good too. Note that when they say this tour goes from "the north" of Tenerife, they generally mean Puerto de la Cruz, not Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

I booked the tour with the chairlift, but it was too windy.

I booked the tour with the chairlift, but it was too windy. Awaiting a partial refund. I'm glad I got to see the park, but there isn't really enough time to hike which would have been great! There was a stop 30min into the drive which wasn't really necessary, and again on the way back. The guide was great. Probably better to rent a car if you're wanting to enjoy the park.

A fantastic Teide Tour

The tour company was excellent. Catering for different languages and allowing enough stops along the way for breaks. The views and scenery that you will see are absolutely fascinating and stunning. The tour guides were great here as they are explaining it all to you so you know what you are looking at. Overall, this was a great tour and superb value for money. Easily recommended.

Know before you go

A rest area complete with restrooms and a coffee shop is located at the lower station.
The hike to El Teide crater requires a special permit; though free, it should be reserved online well in advance.
Mountaintop weather conditions are unpredictable and often cold, so bring extra layers.
If planning a hike, bring all the water and food needed for the day, as there are no restaurants at the upper station.
Pregnant women, visitors with heart conditions, and children under 3 are not permitted on the cable car due to the risks associated with a sudden change in altitude.
The cable car is not wheelchair accessible.
