Depart from your Tenerife hotel in an air-conditioned coach and venture to the heart of Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounding the dramatic Mt. Teide volcano. Gaze at the 12,198-foot (3,718-meter) summit as you travel to Vilaflor, one of Spain’s highest villages.
Weave your way through the winding streets of the village then arrive at Icod de Los Vinos, a rugged region in which the legendary dragon tree thrives. Towering at a height of 72 feet (22 meters) the tree is reputed to be 1,000 years old; capture fabulous photographs beside the living legend then continue by coach to two villages cradled by the spectacular countryside.
Arrive in Garachio and admire the lava carved landscape from an incredible vantage point. See the spectacular scenery of Masca as you explore alongside your guide, snapping shots of sprawling greenery and mountainous peaks. Fantastic tour!
Hector, our guide, was polite, knowledgeable, fun, and extremely professional. Our driver, Jorge, was highly skilled at navigating the hilly terrain. It was a really great experience, visiting multiple attractions and enjoying the spectacular views along the way. Tenerife is a beautiful island, and this tour shows that it has much more to offer beyond its stunning beaches.

A great day out exploring the traditional and undisturbed parts of Tenerife Island.
I thought Mount Teide would be the star of the day but for me it was Masca... Hidden away looking like a town plonked in the middle of prehistoric lands. Just stunning.
Absolutely amazing scenery during the whole trip with more hairpin turns than could be counted. So thankful for our very skilled driver.
Great information given by our guide during the coach journey too, including historical and geographical facts as well as I formation about plants and Tenerife ways of life.
Disappointed that we didn't stop at Villaflor (not sure exactly why but I think the coach driver determined it to be too busy)
We also skipped the stop at Garachico (Piscinas Naturales El Caleton) due to fallen rock on the main road and therefore apparently nowhere suitable to park. .I was very disappointed about this and would have thought prior planning could have resulted in alternative parking spots secured as you could see that there were still plenty of visitors through the town as we drove through it.

Many thanks for you review. We have had 2 storms hit Tenerife in 1 week which is very unusual. Sometimes we were unaware of fallen rocks until we were on our way into the trip. However we do take alternative routes if this is the case. We are so sorry that this rare weather was disrupting us.

One of my favourite tour ! It was spectacular, absolutely amazing places ! Our guide Andrach (or Andrea) was great and friendly . I highly recommend to do this if you don’t have much time on Tenerife. Masca was the highlight of my trip. It looks like a small Machi Pichu with the view of the Ocean behind. I loved it.

A good day out. Pick up from our hotel was fine but the transfer to the bus in Los Cristianos was a bit of a wait and quite chaotic as so many tour buses arrived there at once. However our guide and driver were very good and the trip to the volcano and crater was fantastic. I also wouldn’t have missed the trip up the Masca valley for anything, despite the terrifying hair pin bends. Truly another side of Tenerife away from the soulless southern resorts.

It was really a lovely day with Atlantico Tour. We started the day drove up to Mt. Teide. Very impressive view and stop for a short break. Then we continued our journey on the first stop at Mt. Teide. Very nice view of the Caldera. Afterwards we went to the north to visit a village famous for dragon tree. We had our lunch with typical Canary Islands food. I love the food a lot. Then we visited next Village Garachico where our Tour guide explained about important role of Canary Islands in the past. Afterwards it was the highlight of the day to visit Masca Village. A beautiful scenery and the most difficult way to go back to the south as the road is very narrow for a bus to pass, but our bus expert driver made it perfectly back to our hotels. It was a wonderful day for us all.

Great trip which covers a lot of ground. As as well the national park it visits a couple of picturesque villages. There is only a short stopover in the Park (much of it spent queuing for the only functioning toilet). It would have been nice to able to some walking in the Park but the timings didn’t allow. There is a good stopover at Garachico (definitely worth seeing) which includes an optional restaurant lunch. Some parts of the journey involve quite scary hairpin mountain roads - but the driver was excellent. Guide also very good and informative. Tour could possibly miss out Masca to give a little time in the Park.

Good things first: The bus driver was AMAZING and did an impressive and very good job driving us safely through the mountains. This deserves respect and was surely not easy. Moreover, he was really friendly and showed us some nice photo stops to take pictures. He was really doing a great job.
But: I booked a tour called "Teide und Masca Valley" so I thought this is the places where we would spend most of the day. I was wrong. We had 20 minutes in Teide and another 20 minutes in Masca. For a 9h 30 minutes trip. That's not even 10% of the time. What can you do in 20 minutes? Quickly get out of the bus, rush to the spot, take a few pictures and go back. It's almost no time. I would have enjoyed it if we were driven there, had MUCH MORE TIME in the actual spots and then drive on. But that was not what was happening. Instead, we spent 90 minutes in a restaurant (more time than Masca and Teide together!) in the dragon village tree. I'm sorry but I don't need to book a bus trip to be brought to a restaurant. It felt like the restaurant was actually the secret reason for the trip and not Masca and Teide what I booked. I was heartbroken and disappointed. Was so happy to see Masca and Teide and then I wasted an entire day of my vacation for 40 minutes spending time there.
Moreover, the communication was really bad. Going into the bus, I was already having a bad feeling because I was not sure if I sit in the correct bus. The guide lady did not have a list with names, she was just like "Yeah, it's this company which you booked, so it must be this bus". Also, meeting points were poorly communicated. In the dragon tree village, the meeting point where they wanted to pick us up after 90 minutes was different than the place we were dropped off. But she didn't tell us (at least not in English). So I asked and only because I happened to ask she showed some of the group members the meeting point in our Google maps. Unfortunately, many people were already gone walking to the village when she explained it and so they did not receive this information so obviously there were different people missing after 90 minutes and we had to wait another 30 minutes in the bus until they found them (and the organization was again very bad as they did not have a list with names and phone numbers or anything). Same thing was in Teide. We only had 20 minutes there. I was back in the bus in time just to be told we have to sit in the bus for another 15 minutes because the bus driver needs a mandatory break (which is completely fine but why do we have to sit in the bus when he has to do a break anyway? Why can we not spend the additional 15 minutes at the Teide?).
The "stop" in Villaflor is not really a stop. You don't see the village, we just spent a few minutes at a motorway rest stop, so please don't expect to see the moon-like environment or anything there. It's really just a rest stop with a toilet and expensive snacks.
All in all I would say this trip is appropriate for elderly people or people who cannot walk and enjoy to spend 90% of their day in a bus. You will see some nice views through the bus windows. But it is surely not for people who want to explore and actually spend time in Masca and Teide. This tour should be named "Bus tour through Teneriffa where we spend most of the time in a restaurant and happen to stop in Masca and Teide as well" but certainly not "Teide and Masca Valley".
If you still want to go, please take a warm pullover and a wind jacket with you. Even if it's warm that day, the mountains can be extremely cold and windy (which is fine, I brought a pullover and a jacket and therefore didn't have a problem).
The bus does not have a toilet in the bus.
If I may suggest something to the people organizing this trip to improve it for future visitors:
- Please give your guides a list with the names and phone numbers so they can call missing people
- Please make sure that meeting points are communicated clear and well, especially in English (this tour was an English tour)
- Most important: Please find a way to ensure people have more time in Teide and Masca. I think the dragon tree village can be skipped entirely. Just make the lunch break in a restaurant in Masca or tell people to bring their own snacks. I don't know if they have a cooperation with the restaurant in the dragon tree village or anything but it was really not cool to spend 2h in that dragon tree village. Yes, the tree is cool, but you don't need 90 minutes there, especially when it means you have no time in Masca and Teide.
- It would be cool if the bus had a toilet so we don't have to stop several times and do 20 minutes toilet breaks. But yeah, this point is probably hard to realize and was not the main problem of this trip.

Great trip - full day coach trip with regular stops, a good guide and a great driver. Slightly longer in a couple of places would have been better and a bit more freedom to wander and explore would have made the trip a bit better but overall a great experience and would recommend it.

Way too much time in the bus, at least 7 hrs for just 30 mins at Tiede and Masca. If anything Viators description of the trip is misleading. We stopped at 3 other places briefly we had minimal interest in. Guide spoke / lectured us way too much in multiple languages and was a little rude a number of times. Told no hotel pick up just the day before. Confusion on which bus we were allocated to. 3 stars out of 5 is very generous

Tip: At the beginning of the day when you are all waiting for various tour buses to arrive, ensure you ask each bus if your name is on their list! It's easy to see how someone can be left behind if you don't ask each bus that arrives.
Great tour, full day with incredible scenery. Enjoyed it all! Teide and Masca were definitely the highlights of the day. The mountain drive to Masca was intense, but the bus drivers do an amazing job. Quite the experience! Wish there was more time to explore Masca, but appreciate the opportunity to visit this little village with the ultimate Jurassic park mountain views!

Packed bus hitting the highlights of the island. Stopped and a reasonable place for a non included lunch. Lots of switchbacks to and from Masca handled easily by our expert driver. Guide was very informative but she was always talking in english/spanish/italian which can get overwhelming.

Good tour. Our guide Andrea was very informative but spoke really really really fast and sometimes missed a bit because he spoke in three languages. He was very approachable and friendly so we could ask him anything. Scenery was absolutely amazing. A bus as big as ours (over 30 persons) was a bit dangerous as the roads across the mountains were very narrow and many cars had to back up to let us through. In saying that, the driver was excellent. Lunch was rustic and delicious. Length of tour was good. Hotel pick up made it very easy. Overall a good tour. Thank you

Amazing day trip, honestly I would give 6 stars if I could.
Mount Teide and Masca Valley are absolutely beautiful, but what really made the day special were the people. Our tour guide Maria was brilliant! We actually felt like we were next to one of our favourite school teachers! So charismatic and full of interesting stories. And big respect to Yonathan, the driver — super calm and skilled on those mountain roads.
Everything was well organised and stress-free. One of the best things we’ve done in Tenerife. 100% recommended!

Good tour to see several places in the same day. Stops are sometimes too short, but the stops at Roques de Garcia, Guarachico, near el Drago and Masca village are all worth time and have amazing picturesque views.

The places we visited were all really interesting but the bus journey was very uncomfortable, the bus was fully packed when it arrived at pick up point and the only seats left were those at the back, really small space for five people, plus we had hot air coming out constantly on the back of the bus and we had to repeatedly ask the the driver to switch it off.

Firstly, kudos to the bus driver, who was excellent and handled the difficult turns very well. Although we spent quite a long time on the bus, the stunning views throughout the tour more than made up for it.
However, we should have been warned about the strong winds at Mount Teide and the fact that some of the public toilets require payment. There also should have been more time to explore the Masca Valley. The food at the restaurant was good but quite expensive at €20 per person.
The town where we ate, Icod de los Vinos, was home to the unique-looking Drago Tree, and the plants throughout the village were spectacular. I also recommend buying the almond cakes and the barraquito in Vilaflor, as both were delicious. Overall, the experience was great.

Many thanks for your review. The little villages like Icod de los Viños is super. Famous for the old dragon tree next to the pretty square. Masca is fantastic and the route is hair raising. You would have been updated by the guide of the history and story of how the villages came to live there. Guarachico you would have seen the natural rock pools and it was originaly the main port on the island before the last volcanic eruption. However we are pleased to hear you liked the national park. Please enjoy the rest of your stay here in Tenerife.

We spent a lot of time in the bus and really little time exploring.
We had only 30 minutes to explore the Teide and 30 minutes to explore Masca, which was not enough time.
Also the tour was offered in three languages at once (English, Spanish and German) so the guide would repeat everything three times in a row, which we found a bit annoying. Hats off to her for knowing that many languages though.
Overall we were glad we did the tour and to see all those beautiful places, but I would recommend renting a car instead.

You need to be and amazing driver to tackle the Masca road when you are faced with busses and very tight spaces.
