Enjoyable and informative night sky experience - all the telescope operators were enthusiastic about their subject and the principle speaker Kieran showed an in-depth knowledge whilst keeping the talk accessible and engaging. Our driver Libby was prompt on arrival, clear in her directions and great chat throughout. Do wrap up warm though (as the info advises, as it's cold up high at night). Recommend.

What a fantastic experience! The tour was run incredibly well, with everything perfectly organized from start to finish. The operators were brilliant and made us feel welcome throughout. The views were absolutely stunning, especially the night sky—our hosts shared so much fascinating information about the stars, which made it even more memorable. The food and drinks were good. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable experience!

Well organised and professional tour company.

Elliott_G, Apr 2026
Stargazing part of tour was cancelled due to weather so basing this review on the parts of the trip that were completed. Pickup time and location was clearly communicated, coach comfortable and the tour guide (Craig) was friendly and informative. Despite the stargazing tour being cancelled, on the bus journey home, we were offered refund or rescheduling options which was welcomed.

It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Craig and the team were incredibly helpful, friendly, and well organised, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. They created such a lovely atmosphere and made it much more than just a trip — it felt like a truly special day out. The stargazing itself was beautiful and memorable, and the team made sure everyone felt comfortable and included throughout. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something unique and unforgettable.

Arranged pick was exactly on time and mini bus very clean. Meal a little rushed and basic. Star gazing was very informative.

Very cold at the top! We were warned. Our guide Craig, and his assistants, were very knowledgeable and informative. Beautiful views of the stars… so many stars.

Star Gazing

Shaun_S, Feb 2026
An excellent trip. Obligatory hotel pickups then onto Mt Tiede. Do not worry if you think it’s too cloudy as you’re about to go through the clouds and see a wonderful view of “Life above the clouds!” Wonderful views looking back down with a carpet of clouds beneath you! Onto the restaurant for a nice 3 course meal. “Use to toilet here or you’ll regret it!” Then onto the observation point. It gets cold at the observation point! Wear suitable clothing! Our hosts provided warm clothing if needed! You would not have had, more knowledge of the night sky if Patrick Moore/Brian Cox had been showing us the Stars and “WOW” there are a lot of them!! There were 4 telescopes, all set up and pointing at the same place! So even though you may have to wait to have a look, it was never very long. All in all a brilliant trip! *****

The stars were incredible, despite some hiccups along the way

Agnes_G, Feb 2026
The experience was pretty good. We had some hiccups with the telescopes due to wind, and then a situation with the camera that meant we weren't able to get our night photos taken at the end of the tour. The food wasn't gourmet, but satiating. Just note that your meal does come at the very start of the tour, so you may want to skip lunch. I wouldn't book any kind of private tour vs. the bus. You still eat the same meal, hit the same spots, and get the same information as the larger group...just in a smaller vehicle. It seemed silly to watch folks from the van follow us around all night from spot to spot.

Fantastic Experience! This is the Go-To company for Stargazing in Tenerife

Sharon_S, Jan 2026
Fantastic Experience and operation!! This was our 3rd time with Night Skies Tenerife and it didn't disappoint. From ease of booking, great communication, knowledgeable team, and nothing less than a WOW experience this company provides it all. Your pictures from the experience are included. They even serve a drink at sunset and hot chocolate during stargazing! A top notch experience, thank you.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review and for choosing Night Skies Tenerife again. We’re truly grateful for your continued support and delighted to hear that every part of the experience, from booking and communication to the sunset and stargazing, lived up to expectations. It’s wonderful to know the team, the atmosphere, and the small touches helped create another memorable evening. We look forward to welcoming you back for a fourth visit in the future.

Wonderful Experience!

Thoughtful, Well-Organised & Truly Memorable

Inese_J, Jan 2026
An amazing experience with Night Skies of Tenerife! Everything was very well organised from start to finish, and the people were absolutely lovely. The food and drinks were great, and the free photos were a really nice touch. It was also my birthday, and the candle on my cake was such a thoughtful and lovely gesture. A truly memorable evening — I would highly recommend it.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for your fantastic review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the evening and that the food, drinks, and free photos added to your experience. It was a pleasure to celebrate your birthday with you — we’re glad the cake and candle made it extra special! Thank you for recommending Night Skies Tenerife. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable night under the stars.

Second time doing this...

Claire_H, Dec 2025
Second time doing this excursion as the first time as really loved it , however this time wasn't as good, seemed to take much longer this time and coach was very uncomfortable there and back. Food wasn't as nice either chicken seemed very pink so I didn't eat much. However the sunset and star gazing was fantastic. The staff was brilliant. Shame about how long it takes to get there and back and the food was a put off for me this time.

Overall a nice experience...

Manohar_M, Dec 2025
Overall a nice experience specially with the star gazing. Because of weather, we couldn’t see the sunset properly. However, food was also decent.

One of the must espectular night I have seen ( starsAll over )

GustavoHumberto_L, Dec 2025
Well people should know up there at the Teode weather is really cold so to be prepare Wearing good jackets

Must Do Experience!!! Staff & Owner & Food were AMAAAAZING!!!!!

Shari_W, Dec 2025
It’s AMAZING!!! Craig was the best, so full of knowledge. Everyone was! It’s always great when you get. Tour and leave with way more information about the area/experience/thing that you thought you would get. Really awesome!!! Yes it’s cold when you are 2100km up a volcano, and are PAST the clouds, dress like it!! If you want a chance at seeing your zodiac, you have to be there 8-10weeks before your birthday. The food was DELICIOUS, I cleaned the plate and really wanted to go back for more (I got the pork) or a to-go plate!!! The English was perfect, with other guides for Spanish or German. I 100% recommend this. Depending on how long you plan to be in Tenerife I would do this tour multiple times, it’s going to be a different night sky each time (and you get an included ride to that fantastic restaurant lol). Loved it!!!!!

Amazing, professional operator - but group too large

Emily_M, Nov 2025
Seeing the sunset and stars in the mountains of Tenerife is an absolutely unmissable experience. This operator is professional and experienced, with clear and reliable communication as well as deep knowledge about the night sky. However, it is simply too many people. We ultimately spent two hours of the stargazing portion to see three things through the telescope, which is not an enjoyable experience standing in the cold of the desert on the side of the highway. The experience description says it will be 50 people, but our group was 70. All said, we would certainly do this experience again, but in a small or private group.

Great Experience

Cornelia_H, Nov 2025
Sol was an amazing guide. Very nice and kind. The provided warm jackets are very helpful. Amazing experience.

Night skies

Nick_L, Nov 2025
Very well organised can get chilly at stargazing spot but well worth it .seeing sunset above the clouds with a glass of cava was excellent.Restaurant 600 meters up nice view from there light meal was very good

Well organised but skip the food option

Phil_S, Nov 2025
Unfortunately our trip had to be aborted due to zero visibility. The company were very good and issued a refund even though not their fault) staff were pleasant and friendly even if the coach driver was a bit grumpy and couldn’t do hill starts. One recommendation is don’t bother with the food - it’s dreadful. We were told 3 courses , only got two. Veggie option was a bit of salad, 2 potatoes and some hard chickpeas in tepid mildly flavoured water. Even the meat eaters looked like ropey old road kill with a bit of rice. The food venue also felt like being herded into a school dining room and was all very rushed. Apart from that , the trip would have been great if we had got to see the sunset and stars.

Great trip

Colin_H, Nov 2025
Great tour, thought we would do something different for our wedding anniversary and we loved it, Would recommend this trip

Amazing evening on Mount Teide watching the sunset above ove the clouds and stargazing

Nicola_N, Nov 2025
Amazing experience from start to finish. Was picked up opposite our hotel. Taken to a little restaurant for a basic but tasty dinner (choice of chicken or pork or veggie wiv yummy canarian potatoes and rice and chocolate desert and free drinks. Then onto the spot where we watch the sunset from above the clouds. Free wine or juice. 1st wow moment. Then onto highest level we can go to without a permit (2200 metres up) where 4 high powered telescopes are set up. We had a talk about our milky way, constellations and much much more. Seeing Saturn with its rings was another massive wow moment for us. Professional photos were taken of us with the sunset and another with the stars. All sent to us free of charge along with time lapse photos of the sunset on that night and close up photos of what we had viewed through the telescopes. Nothing was rushed. We were allowed to take our time looking through the telescopes. It was a brilliant evening. They even supply warm jackets as it gets so cold up there when the sun goes down. We were picked up at 3.20pm and we're back by 10pm. There were approx 40 of us on the bus. The knowledge of all the guys was astounding. We found a 10% Viatour (who we booked through online) discount which made it even better. Is well worth going. You won't be disappointed.

The experience overall is...

Zhang_N, Nov 2025
The experience overall is nice, Sonja was our guide and was real helpful and considerate the whole time. However, there was one thing I did find weird and uncomfortable. When I was lining up for telescope, One of the male staff use Laser pointer DIRECLTLY ON MY FACE asking if I was part of the group. 1. This is EXTREMELY RUDE AND WEIRD. whether I was out not, it DOSE NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT to directly laser someone's face, not to mention it hurts the eyes. 2. I was with the group the whole time, I don't know what made u think that I was a solo tourist taking advantage of your equipment. More importantly, after I told him I was in the group, he simply went "then it must be someone else" without any apology. I do like the arrangement and in the end Sonja was kind enough to arrange faster drop off. But I do find the whole laser thing absurd and the staff should've handled it more appropriately.

It would have been excellent if it weren’t for the very large group

SirJBP, Oct 2025
The experience was well organised and the staff was very welcoming. My main concern was that we were a group of about 70 people and that kind of ruined the experience, if it would have been kept down to 20/30 max it would have been much more enjoyable. I’ll start with the good part, which was the last stop with the stargazing, Teide National park is very beautiful and at night is worth seeing as well. We had full moon so visibility was very good and gave it a beautiful eerie vibe, and we could still see plenty of stars up there even with the moonlight. They had 4 telescopes and the explanations were really interesting with the lasers to see the different constellations, the guides seemed to be very knowledgable and kept it entertaining. We got to see through the telescope a constellation, closeup of the moon and Saturn which was excellent. Now the bad part. First stop was the food, I’d say it was average at best, I decided to try the chicken and it was very dry, the pork didn’t look much better and the vegetarian option was just a dish of side salad. Though expected in these type of tours unfortunately, it’s a shame that they do it this way. The next stop was the sunset, we just barely made it on time, the sunset itself was beautiful, but through the days there in the island this wasn’t the best spot by far to see it. They go there because they can park the bus and accommodate the group of about 70 people rather than go to a much better place to see it for the beauty of it. Here they offered drinks, which a lot of people take it, though you will be standing in the cold for about the next 3h in a national park in a location where there is no toilet, people should’ve made aware of this before as from the tour is not very responsible to have a large group of people relieving themselves in a location where it is not allowed to preserve the environment, and doing this multiple times a week. Alcohol, high altitude and low temperatures don’t go well together and this didn’t feel like responsible type of tourism. Finally the lasts stop was the stargazing, which as mentioned in the beginning was really nice but again the large group meant we only got to see three things in the telescopes for a few seconds each, as each time you had 70 people waiting to see. Overall I am happy with the experience, but when I go back to Tenerife in the future I want to do stargazing again, I will be looking for a better experience that aligns more with what I expected.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the stargazing portion of the evening and appreciated our knowledgeable guides, telescopes, and the stunning beauty of Teide National Park at night. We completely understand that our group size may not be ideal for everyone, and we do clearly state this in our listings. Larger groups allow us to keep the price accessible for the majority of visitors, while maintaining the same high-quality telescopes, equipment, and professional guiding team. For guests seeking a more intimate or luxurious experience, we also offer Exclusive and Private Astronomical and Gastronomical Experiences — these are tailored for smaller numbers and come at a higher price point. Regarding the meal, we appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with the restaurant to help improve their offerings. We do also make sure to inform guests that the restaurant is the final convenient toilet stop before heading into the National Park. There are toilets available at the sunset location, though they are a long walk from the main viewing area — and we agree that at altitude and in cooler temperatures, this can be a consideration. We’re always striving to balance comfort, accessibility, and environmental responsibility while delivering a memorable experience under Tenerife’s incredible night skies. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope we might welcome you back one day for one of our smaller private tours. Warm regards, Kieran

Definitely go!!

Sarah_W, Oct 2025
Great experience! Very knowledgeable guides; I went home with some good fun facts about the island and sky. Also love that the photos are free.

Fabulous Stargazing Evening - Sep 25

Richard_G, Sep 2025
An excellent event hosted by Craig & Kieran who gave a very professional, friendly and amusing tour of the stars and constellations above Mount Teide. The journey up the mountain was easy with a stop midway at a traditional restaurant that served us a simple but very tasty dinner with drinks. I can really recommend this tour but do dress up warm as the temp does drop at the top although warm jackets are provided if needed. Many thanks to Craig & Kieran.

Very good tour

Kevin_L, Sep 2025
Very interesting and informative. Guides very good. Food was nice but very basic. Everyone was friendly and attentive

Good Tour - Some Advice to Make It Great

Jean_M, Sep 2025
This was a good excursion -- the dinner stop was great -- really good food. The sunset was gorgeous. The telescopes provided amazing views. The staff was quite helpful and accommodating. Due to the advice provided in advance by the tour company, we "dressed in layers" and were very comfortable with the night temperatures. My advice to them and to someone who takes this tour would be this: 1. Since the "modern" bathrooms are closed at the sunset viewing site, UPON ARRIVAL there, show attendees where the alternative is (since it is a bit of a hike) and send the first woman and the first guy with a roll of toilet paper. It is not possible for most people, to go 5-7 hours (particularly in the night air) without facilities after providing a meal with beverages. Depending on a person's return point, it could be up to 7 hours without a bathroom after the dinner stop. 2. Between the sunset viewing and then the star gazing, people need to stand for a minimum of 4 hours on hard and uneven ground / volcanic rock. There is no seating at the sunset stop (but you can walk around) and the only seating at the star gazing is a rock wall that would be workable IF it was not made of jagged volcanic rock. And "walking around" is risky on volcanic rock in the pitch dark. We tried to sit on the wall for a while, but that was so uncomfortable that we finally went to the van and missed the last 2 viewings at the telescopes. While it is thoughtful that the staff brings a few jackets for those who can't plan (since all of the instructions advised tourists to dress for warmth in the night air), that seems far less necessary than providing long, narrow strips of padded cushions to put on top of the jagged rock wall. We all could have taken turns sitting on the "padded" wall and lining up at the telescopes. The cushions would not need to be bulky - just enough thickness to "blunt / smooth out" the jagged rocks. This was a nice tour but would have been a GREAT tour if we had not had to scavenge for tissues to use in the "auxiliary" bathroom (which did have running water and a flush toilet), and if we would have been able to sit on the rock wall without extreme discomfort while waiting for our turn to view and / or while the telescopes were being reset for the next viewing - which took a fair amount of time. The information about the "night skies" and what we were seeing was excellent.

The group size was a full...

Marc_B, Sep 2025
The group size was a full coach load. I would of liked a smaller more intimate experience. You stargaze in a small car park adjacent to a road. Your time on a telescope is limited to a few minutes at most. The meal, was not a high point. Our guide tried to set expectations ahead of time.

Lost $96 Tour Company Denies refund or rescheduling

ABIGAIL_R, Sep 2025
Due to several errors 1) mine did know that upon arriving in Canary Islands from Madrid there was a time change 2) went to the meeting place indicated n waited 40 minutes 3) a tour bus finally showed up I asked if this was the star gazing tour n the guide said yes, took my name n told me to sit in the bus. As we were on our way i received another call from another tour guide stating they waited before me but had to leave. Turns out the tour guide in the bus I was on incorrectly told me to get in. I then took a taxi for $15 back to my hotel. I called n asked if my excursion could be rescheduled for the 16th. The tour company sent me a message that they couldn’t refund my $96 n they couldn’t reschedule me. VIATOR Was great trying to help me but the las word is the Tour Operator. Not sure why they simply couldn’t reschedule me

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We are sorry for your disappointment, but we must clarify that this situation was not caused by our company. All guests are sent clear instructions in advance, including the guide’s name, our company name, the meeting point, and the exact pick-up time. Our guide and coach were present at the correct location and time as confirmed. Unfortunately, you boarded a different company’s bus after being told by another operator that it was your tour. We cannot be held responsible for the actions of another company’s staff or for guests choosing to board the wrong bus. In addition, the time difference between islands & mainland Spain is something outside of our control. It is the responsibility of travelers to ensure they arrive at the correct time and place stated in the booking instructions. As our service was correctly delivered and our staff were present at the agreed meeting point, we were unable to offer a refund or reschedule in this case.
