This tasting was a highlight of our trip to Sicily! Angela and her family could not have been nicer - a truly authentic Sicilian family experience.
The food and wine were excellent. Much of the food comes from their family farm and was expertly prepared by Nella and her mother. They are a wonderful family and excellent cooks and hosts - truly memorable.
I would highly recommend making this tasting a part of your trip. You won't be disappointed!

Quite the family affair. We were so warmly welcomed into their beautiful home for a fabulous evening. There was about 10 of us trying delicious food and wine a they explained about their food. Beautiful presentation and delicious foods!

A word of warning; if you are lucky enough to do this experience make sure you come hungry. This was definitely a highlight (if not the highlight) of the Sicilian part of our trip. To meet such an amazing family and they welcomed us with open arms into their beautiful home was a great experience. We made arrangements with Angela to have Salvo pick us up at the train station. That removed the stress of finding a ride to their home. The experience was a walk through multiple traditional family recipes that have passed down through generations and were paired with great Etna wine. This food that is not found in restaurants. It began with 3 different types of bruschetta and continued with two charcuterie boards. One with diverse meats from the region. The second was various cheeses, honey and marmalades. It continues with third with seasonal dishes using pumpkin and a delicious traditional tripe. The tour continued with great risotto dish and ending with two types of meatballs and roasted potatoes. Tiramisu was the desert and finally a homemade creamed lemoncello drink made by the family. We definitely did not leave hungry. Hospitality was second to none.

The food was amazing beginning to end. I come from a long line of great cooks and our meal did not disappoint. We loved how it’s such a family event. I felt like I’ve known Angela my whole life. Angela and her sons did an amazing job. My favorite thing to do in Taormina m! Thank you Angela ❤️

This is a true and unique experience to sample authentic Sicilian food in a real Sicilian home. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. Perhaps what struck us most was the generosity and hospitality of this Sicilian family. The entire family seemed to have played a role in our experience. The husband and son picked us up and took us to the home. The son, his friend, and Angela helped prepare all of the meals. You could easily see how much work and effort it took for our group of 10. The time and attention they took to prepare the food, present it, and explain the traditions was impactful. And what a display of food it was! It was a really nice break from all of the restaurants. No matter what menu you chose, come hungry!

We were welcomed in to a beautiful Sicilian home by Angela and her lovely family for a traditional Sicilian meal. In terms of the experience, I would like to get some minor downsides out of the way first.
Our understanding was that a traditional meal consisted of two main courses, a pasta dish and a fish or meat dish. However, following two (delicious) anti pasti courses, the main course consisted solely of a vegetarian pasta dish. Also, the wine that was served with each course provided little more than a taste rather than a small glass.
I would also advise anyone booking this experience that a supplement applies to groups of fewer than four people. This came as a surprise to me as this clause on the English language site was written in Italian so I was unaware of it.
There were so many positives that outweigh these minor issues though. Angela met us at the door and extended a warm, friendly greeting before showing us in to her beautiful home. We were introduced to her husband Salvo and two of her sons, Tano and Nicholas, who helped to serve the food and wine.
We were given delicious homemade breads, including an olive and mushroom bread which was our personal favourite, as well as olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The first antipasti (cold) consisted of an array of cheeses, meats and pumpkin, with the second (hot) including a stuffed pepper, arancini and a meatball in a ragu sauce. Absolutely delicious.
The pasta dish arrived next and we must admit that we didn't finish it as we were holding back for what we thought might be another (fish or meat) main.
We finished with a dessert which we made ourselves under the guidance of Tano and Nicholas which was good fun. This was accompanied by a glass of cream of limconcello.
The majority of ingredients were sourced locally, most from the family farm which we thought was a lovely touch. The wines were also from a local vineyard, including a delicious red from the family's own vineyard.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, one of the highlights of our trip, and we wish Angela and family all the best. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone considering it.

The Best Sicily has to offer in every mouthful.
We have just returned from 3 wonderful gourmet filled hours of the best food and wine Sicily has to offer, all at the beautiful family home of the very warm and hugely talented Angela . She collected us right on time from our hotel in her spacious air conditioned car and drove us with great care and comfort to and from her home for the homemade feast she ,her charming son Tano and Nonna had lovingly prepared for us . It must have taken them days to prepare all the delicacies they presented us with! Sometimes pictures speak louder than words, so we have posted some of what we enjoyed . We were first offered 2 wines chosen from one of Sicily’s finest vineyards on Etna. We also had one of the family’s lovely homemade reds from their own vineyard and finished with nonna’s superb homemade limoncello crèam liqueur, smooth and not too sweet , very moreish !! Food wise , well , by the end we were begging them to stop feeding us , such was their incredible generosity!
We started with an exceptional selection of breads and antipasti, which included honey from the black bees on Etna to go with the best pecorino I ever tasted . Also a homemade peach compote to accompany the other cheeses, salamis , mortadella etc … a whole range of different olives , preserved mushrooms and onions, a homemade olive oil from the family’s farm and one from another private grove . Tano, Angela’s lovely son, made a delicious green bean and potato salad to accompany everything and was a wonderful host along with his mum . They then arrived with a plate of picture perfect bruschettas, one topped with sundried tomatoes and burrata, the other with finely diced pecorino . This was then followed by a plate of arancini , delicate zucchini rolls and an amazing fried cheese … just exceptional all of it .
Just when we thought that was the end, they brought out a hot course of pasta Norma sprinkled with their own slow dried ricotta … all utterly superb. We finally finished with Nonna ‘s deconstructed cannoli which she baked herself , so it had only the best , freshest Sicilian ingredients . It was by far the best we have had in Sicily. In fact , every mouthful we had was hands down the best Sicily has to offer , made and presented with so much love and generosity from the loveliest family you could hope to meet, all in the most stylish and beautifully designed modern Sicilian home .
This is a truly unique experience to visit and enjoy the incredible hospitality of a true Sicilian family . There are I don’t think any other tours that offer this and we would choose it again and again over other tourist experiences. The only regret I had was not being able to buy from Angela any of the food or drink we were served ,such as the wines , the honey , the peach preserve , the olive oils etc … but she was very generous with the information on where we could source everything ourselves and said with time they might sell a few of the items themselves.
Thank you Angela , Tano and Nonna for all your delicious hard work and lovely company . 5 BIG STARS in every respect !

Il meglio che la Sicilia ha da offrire in ogni boccone.
Siamo appena tornati da 3 meravigliose ore gourmet all'insegna del miglior cibo e vino che la Sicilia ha da offrire, il tutto nella splendida casa di famiglia della cordialissima e talentuosissima Angela. Ci è venuta a prendere puntualissima dal nostro hotel con la sua spaziosa auto con aria condizionata e ci ha accompagnati con grande cura e comfort da e per casa sua per la festa fatta in casa che lei, il suo adorabile figlio Tano e la nonna avevano preparato con amore per noi. Devono averci messo giorni per preparare tutte le prelibatezze che ci hanno presentato! A volte le immagini parlano più delle parole, quindi abbiamo pubblicato alcune delle cose che abbiamo apprezzato. Per prima cosa ci sono stati offerti 2 vini scelti da uno dei migliori vigneti siciliani sull'Etna. Abbiamo anche assaggiato uno dei deliziosi rossi fatti in casa dalla famiglia, provenienti dal loro vigneto, e abbiamo concluso con il superbo limoncello fatto in casa dalla nonna, morbido e non troppo dolce, molto appetitoso!! Per quanto riguarda il cibo, beh, alla fine li imploravamo di smettere di darci da mangiare, tale era la loro incredibile generosità! Abbiamo iniziato con un'eccezionale selezione di pane e antipasti, tra cui il miele delle api nere dell'Etna, abbinato al miglior pecorino che abbia mai assaggiato. C'era anche una composta di pesche fatta in casa per accompagnare gli altri formaggi, salumi, mortadella ecc... una vasta gamma di olive, funghi e cipolle conservati, un olio d'oliva fatto in casa proveniente dall'azienda agricola di famiglia e uno da un altro frutteto privato. Tano, l'adorabile figlio di Angela, ha preparato una deliziosa insalata di fagiolini e patate per accompagnare il tutto ed è stato un ospite meraviglioso, insieme a sua madre. Sono poi arrivati con un piatto di bruschette perfette, una con pomodori secchi e burrata, l'altra con pecorino tagliato a dadini. A seguire, un piatto di arancini, delicati involtini di zucchine e un fantastico formaggio fritto... semplicemente eccezionale. Proprio quando pensavamo fosse finita, ci hanno portato una calda pasta alla Norma cosparsa di ricotta essiccata lentamente... tutto assolutamente superbo. Abbiamo infine concluso con i cannoli destrutturati della nonna, preparati da lei stessa, quindi con solo i migliori e più freschi ingredienti siciliani. È stato di gran lunga il migliore che abbiamo mai assaggiato in Sicilia. In effetti, ogni boccone che abbiamo assaggiato era senza dubbio il meglio che la Sicilia ha da offrire, preparato e presentato con tanto amore e generosità dalla famiglia più adorabile che si possa sperare di incontrare, il tutto nella più elegante e splendida casa siciliana moderna.
È un'esperienza davvero unica visitare e godere dell'incredibile ospitalità di una vera famiglia siciliana. Non credo ci siano altri tour che offrano questo e lo sceglieremmo ancora e ancora rispetto ad altre esperienze turistiche. L'unico rammarico che ho avuto è stato non poter acquistare da Angela nulla del cibo o delle bevande che ci sono stati serviti, come i vini, il miele, la confettura di pesche, gli oli d'oliva ecc... ma è stata molto generosa con le informazioni su dove potevamo procurarci tutto e ha detto che col tempo potrebbero vendere alcuni prodotti da soli. Grazie Angela, Tano e Nonna per tutto il vostro delizioso duro lavoro e la vostra deliziosa compagnia. 5 GRANDI STELLE sotto ogni aspetto! This tasting was exquisite. Angela and her wonderful family prepared the most delicious snacks. No one at the table expected to see such a variety of wines, breads, cheeses, olives, olive oils, meats, honey, limoncello and a dessert. A person gets enough to be considered a meal. I met such wonderful people at the tasting table. This is a must if in the area of Taormina.

We were overwhelmed with the hospitality shown to us by Salvo, Angela and Nella and their extended family. Sicily is rooted in tradition and family, and to be invited to be part of that is what makes travel so special. The night was just magical. We were picked up at our VRBO in a very nice vehicle by Angela and Salvo. Salvo works full time as a tour guide and so is well versed in showing tourists around. His English is excellent. Angela is a warm host who wants nothing more then to pour her heart and home into an amazing experience for her guests.
First, we made three stops on our way to their house to see important landmarks. Salvo gave us lots of tips on things we wanted to do and see on the way.
When we arrived at Angelo and Salvo's beautiful home-it was a modern upscale town house style home impeccably decorated with historic touches. Angelo's parents had build the gated community and the family lived on the entire block in separate homes but right beside each other.
Nella, the cook, and sister to Angela rushed out to greet us when we arrived. She was warm and friendly and was excited to share with us her culinary skills!
It was a special night in the community -it was the feast of St. Rita. People were celebrating and their was fireworks. We stood out on the terrace with the family and enjoyed the magic of the night.
The food! Much of it was sourced from their local family farm that was nearby. Each course was paired with local wine. Examples of the food included:
*amazing oranges grown on the family farm
*oil and bread
*antipasti with variety of cheeses/meats and trimmings
*bruschetta with mint -wow!
*arancini (stuffed, divine)
*pasta-spaghetti and egg plant
*deconstructed cannoli
*the family's creamy limoncello
This tour was a highlight of our trip and we would wholeheartedly recommend it to all.

Brilliant from hotel pick up until.drop off in Taormina. Angela and her family were fabulous hosts. Journey to her home was very entertaining . Authentic home made Sicilian Food and wine just kept on coming - dont eat anything beforehand because you will need an empty stomach or a hearty appetite. Grandpa's red wine and grandma's limoncella creme a particular highlight. Multiple breads, cheese and ham, lasagne, caponata, sausages, rosemary potato and cannoli. Home grown olives, olive oil, sundries tomatoes, balsamic onions etc etc. A real experience in a Sicilian family home. Cannot recommend enough.
