We booked at tour that would be 15 ppl at .ost. I get a message next day saying we would be the only 3 and it's now become a private tour. Driver shows up, very sweet man but not a word of English. He was our driver, not a tour guide! He'd drop us off and we would then have to find him at the time given. We paid good money for this "tour" that was mearly a taxi ride to our locations. When asked about our day, I expressed my thoughts and got a generic response! Not happy at all...beware!

We quickly realised that our driver was that only, a driver and not a guide. The journey from Syracuse actually took 2 hours 45 mins ( not the advertised 2 hours) and although we did have a stop for coffee/ toilet, it felt like a very long way. Really enjoyed the Valley of the Temples and marvelled at the history and age of them all. We could read the info brochure and learn about the area ourselves. A quick drive on to Scala dei Turchi and an enjoyable lunch. We could see the ‘scala’ but we had to chose between a swim and the beach and a walk to the rocky cliff. We swam and enjoyed that. A three hour journey back to Syracuse. Not much fun and the day was not worth the long periods of driving.
