Not worth the cost for a private trip, driver was not fluent in English

My husband and I book private tours whenever we travel, we are extremely familiar with how to make reservations as well as the difference between a driver and guide. This tour was supposed to be with an English speaking driver. Unfortunately the driver's fluency was basic, not fluent. He was unable to tell us anything about each of the points on the itinerary, spent too much time telling us about his family - we know the whole history of how they met online, shared interests, dating, marriage, inlaws, children - he even drove by his house! We had a problem at the one of the locations that was not the driver's fault however we felt unsafe and asked the driver to get us out of there - he actually wouldn't help us, we had to argue to get our money back for entry fees to a site we never saw and just left feeling disgusted. Before we even arrived back to our ship the office sent us a nasty email criticizing us, telling me that we were treated well, given snacks, maps and water and should be happy with the tour. The truth is that the driver offered us water at 3 PM, five hours into the tour, the snack were a few pieces of candy and the maps were brochures you get in any hotel lobby or port. Why the office manager felt the need to lash out at us is questionable, we didn't ask for any money back which frankly we should have - for $500 for two people it was not a good use of our time or money. We will return to western Sicily in December 24 and look forward to working with a more attentive agency like Prestelli Sicily Tours who we had success with during the same week. I would not recommend booking this tour.

I fear that you made a mistake in reviewing the tour, perhaps you confused us with other suppliers, also because the tour you did does not cost 500 dollars. We had a wonderful day with Vincenzo! He was a wonderful guide and showed us many places at our own pace. Very polite and very knowledgeable and he spoke English very well! We have no complaints at all, only positive things to say. I would highly recommend this tour!
