Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and took the time to describe the history of Mount Etna and surrounding areas. He explained very well how the volcanoes work and affect local people's lives. We were lucky to get to see lava flow from distance and our guide knew a good spot to enjoy that spectacular view while tasting nice local wines. The money spent on this tour was very much worth it and it exceeded all our expectations. We highly recommend this tour to see and experience Mama Etna!

Try not to miss out on this for your to-do list for Sicily. We thought it would be good but it exceeded our expectations. We arrived and were greeted by Luca and Ciccio and were invited to taste the wonderful array of tastings of local food and drink.
Both Luca and Ciccio were informative and entertaining in educating us on the science and mythology of Mount Etna and Sicily; it was enhanced by their humor and sense of fun.
We ventured into a lava tube which was a first for all of us and was fascinating. The climb up to the vista point for sunset was timed perfectly where we congregated next to a crater and enjoyed an aperitif and watched the sunset from high up on Etna. A once in a lifetime experience for most, so don’t miss out.
Make sure that you dress appropriately so that your experience is not interrupted with the cold. It is a high elevation and no surprise that it will be cold and windy.

Our tour was amazing! Our guide was so educational and enthusiastic. We started the tour at a beautiful country side vineyard. Delicious samples and great prices. We enjoyed everything.

We loved the tour, our guide Luca was wonderful, explaining Etna very well. We decided not to drive to the tour the morning of, and messaged to get a pick up in Catania instead. The process was smooth, and clear.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Etna and spoke good English. It was very hot, so we appreciated the airconditioned vehicle. The sunset over the volcano crater was a little anticlimactic. I wouldn't book the tour just for that.

Overall a great experience with my family! Our guide was awesome, super knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does! If were to do the experience over again we would have arrived to the meet up location much earlier to enjoy lunch and wine tasting at the winery before hand with all kinds of locally produced goods. All in all a great tour.

Our family had an unforgettable experience exploring Mount Etna with our fantastic guide and volcanologist, Luca. From start to finish, this tour was a perfect blend of adventure, education, and breathtaking scenery.
We began our journey at the meeting point in Trecastagni, Montata Grande - AgricolTour & Gusteria dell’Etna, where we sampled a variety of delicious local foods. Then, we loaded up in Luca’s 4x4 to embark on the tour of Etna.
Luca’s expertise and passion for volcanoes brought Mount Etna to life in ways we never imagined. We made several fascinating stops, including a lava bed from an eruption in the 1990s, where we witnessed firsthand the raw power of nature. We also explored a lava tube, learning about its formation and experiencing the eerie yet awe-inspiring underground landscape.
The highlight of our tour was a sunset tour of the Silvestri Craters, formed during an 1892 eruption. We enjoyed Zibibbo (sweet Sicilian wine) and Biscotti Regina while watching the sun set over Etna.
Beyond his deep knowledge, Luca was an engaging storyteller who made the experience truly immersive. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he patiently answered all of our questions, ensuring we left with a newfound appreciation for this mighty volcano.
If you’re looking for an educational yet thrilling experience, this Mount Etna tour with Luca is an absolute must! Thank you, Luca, for making this adventure one we will always remember.

My wife and I where on honeymoon to Sicily and part of exploring the island meant that we had to visit Mount Etna. We booked this 4x4 Sunset tour. The meeting point is on the Vulcano with lovely views on a vineyard and they provided a taster of honey's, pesto's, oils, liquors it was a right treat to start our trip.
We where met by our guide Cicio who took us in his 4x4 up the mountain. We visited several places and we absolutely loved Cicio he was such a good guide telling us all kinds of stories about vulcano's, the history of Etna and the lava flow that treathened Mr. Russo's house. Whilst also engaging in conversation about the history of the Greek's and showing interest in us.
We had an amazing tour, seeing the "small fingers" of lava and to the "big arm" in Ox Valley. He took us in a lava tube and with some proper off roading we ended going up crater Silvestri where it honeslty feels like you are on a different planet.
Overall Cicio was amazing and we had such a lovely tour together.
We can highly recommend this and we had an amazing time.

Really great tour well laid out and informative. The meeting point has plenty of parking and a cafe for refreshments. The route you will go on depends on the weather, it was very foggy the day we went but our guide still managed to take us to locations that were breathtaking.

From beginning to end! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us the best experience. Despite no sunset we were not disappointed. It was an incredible experience and so many facts. Walking inside a lava tube was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Wow what a great trip. It was insightful, fun , interesting to learn about Etna . Our guide was amazing & wish you could hand pick guides. I’d suggest him all the time. A wonderful day and packed with memories. Thank you

Incredible experience. Would highly recommend. Both Sebastian and Francesco were passionate and very conscientious guides. The farm shop tasting was great also, being able to taste so many things grown on Etna. Thank you for the great experience!

We had Alessio as our guide and he was fantastic, he knew so much about the volcano and the history of Etna. The lava caves were so cool and it was a really fun experience in the discovery! Seeing the sun set over the horizon on Etna with an aperitif was just spectacular!
It was a real highlight to our trip!
Adam_C, Sep 2024
Alessio brought Mr Etna to life. It is a fascinating place and we experienced it in its full glory. I had not appreciated how active Mt Etna has been in recent history and to walk a tunnel carved by relatively recent lava flows was special.

Our guide , Peter, was excellent and very knowledgeable.
Being on the volcanic landscape was an extraordinary and special experience.

Spectacular experience! Unlike anything I've ever done! Luca and crew were incredible. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. A must-do adventure!
Matthew_W, Aug 2024
A great trip to see Etna. Local tasters and drinks to try followed by a guided trip up Etna to see Craters, Lava Tubes and a whole lot more. It was a really easy trip without loads of walking or climbing with a really knowledgable guide and a finale watching the sunset with a couple of glasses of Zibbibo and some Biscotti. An unforgettable experience.

Incredible tour with Melo our guide! He was full of information and answered any questions we had. On arrival we loved the little oasis seating and taster area and toilets. The wine my husband purchased was the best he'd ever tasted! The pistachio butter and Mulberry jam were delicious! All staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The 4x4 was comfortable and the tour was very well put together as we ascended up Etna and stopped off at various points, including standing on a 1992 cooled lava flow and lava caves. As we climbed higher and higher we got more excited until we reached the highest view point in time for sunset, snacks and drink, simply unforgettable!!
We saw lots of people driving themselves, and even though we had a hire car, we decided on a tour so we could learn more about Etna - this really made the trip so much more enjoyable. Our family loved every minute and was the highlight of our 12 day stay in Sicily.
Susan_S, Aug 2024
We had a wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide.
We were able to see places we wouldn't have found by ourselves: lava tunnels, we were told information about Etna that we were unaware about and the sunset tour ended drinking wine whilst watching the sun set and listening to Etna talk to us through very loud booms!
It was an experience we will never forget.

Such beautiful views in the evening. Our guide, Luca, was so knowledgeable and personable. He provided us with a lot of information about Mt Etna and its surrounding community. His passion for the area made you fall in love with it too.
ClaudiaCamila_B, Jul 2024
Wow, one of our most memorable experiences in life. To be on Etna whilst she erupted was mind blowing. Our guide, Luca was the best and would have stayed all night, so full of passion and knowledge. He made our experience unforgettable. Thank you
jo_B, Jul 2024
Highly recommend, brilliant stories both from a mythology and scientific perspective. Etna was actually active and erupting as we were there, you could hear the rumble as well as see the smoke - all very safe! Drink watching the sunset was a great to finish the day off. Would recommend taking food as there are no options to eat and you don't get back til quite late and warm clothes it's much chiller as you get further up than the +35 degrees Celsius in the cities!
Beverly_A, Jul 2024
Luca was full of great information. We had the best time and we watched Beautiful sunset! The lava tube was awesome

Only reason it wasn’t a 5 is because the “jeep” in “jeep tour” was broken. So it wasn’t much of a jeep experience.
We were all stuck in a small suv type of vehicle.
Allesio, our guide, was wonderful. Very educated on volcanos, which I appreciate being a science teacher. My kids-not so much. They weren’t too keen on explanations.
The sunset was amazing. Great spot. Would recommend.

Amazing experience, you will enjoy every second of this tour. There is a lot of learning of Etna (and volcanoes) that you get from the tour guide. Views are amazing, the cave experience is awesome, and at the end the tour you will enjoy some local delights and wine. They rent jackets for 5 EUR, I recommend to rent in case you are not traveling in fall-winter.
You can book the tour in Spanish too. Carmelo is an amazing tour guide and driver.

We had a fantastic tour with Luca, our guide, who was so knowledgeable, fun, and kind. He picked us up in Taormina and drove us halfway up Mt. Etna, chatting all the time and answering all of our questions. We then "hiked" - only one part of this walk was really steep, but still pretty easily doable for us (we are 65 and 75 years old) up to a crater and saw the incredible view of the coast of Sicily. After that, we drove to the caves, or "lava tube" area, and went down under. Luca shared his jacket with my husband. It was cold in the tube, but we were only in there about 20 minutes. It was never claustrophobic and it was not hard to climb back out, even though it looked like it might be. Then we got back into Luca's 4x4 and he drove us through some very rough terrain near a lava field (fun!). We ended the tour at sunset with some sweet wine and Italian cookies that Luca had brought for us. The scenery was beautiful! Luca then drove us back down the mountain and dropped us off. The tour was perfect for us. And we saw only a few other people. We had the caves completely to ourselves. Luca said the morning tours are much more crowded. Highly recommend this tour, with Luca. He clearly loves what he does, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Luca!

We had the most amazing and fun time on our Mount Etna sunset tour. Our guide Pierpaolo was extremely knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic and made it a truly memorable experience. Simply brilliant!!

Luca - his knowledge, passion, experience and willingness to share openly made the tour priceless. We has perfect weather and company for it! Fully recommend this to anyone thinking of doing an Enta tour

We had a great time on the tour of Mt Etna at Sunset. Our hosts were extremely knowledgeable about volcanic activity and the history of the volcano and it’s effects on Sicily and the surrounding towns. The walk through the Lava tube was an informative and exciting addition. The view of Sunset was spectacular. We never would have found such a perfect spot on our own. The almond and pistachio cookies and Moscato was a nice touch.
