Itinerary

Meet your guide and small group of no more than 12 people at Santiago's Fortress in the heart of Sesimbra. After admiring the medieval castle, now a Portuguese National Monument, head out along 25 de Abril Avenue, the town’s main boulevard.

Marvel at the ocean views as you stroll along the beachside promenade, hear stories about Sesimbra’s humble beginnings, and stop to snap photos of the historic harbor with its colorful fishing boats.

Continue into the heart of Sesimbra town, winding your way through the maze-like streets, and admiring the 15th- and 16th-century townhouses. Along the way, stop to taste Sesimbra specialty Farinha Torrada, a delicious sweet pastry, at one of the town’s most famous pastry shops, then pause to sample regional wines and cheeses in a beautiful late 19th-century building.

After a morning exploring Sesimbra, your tour ends at a convenient central square, where you can continue sightseeing independently or ask your guide for lunch recommendations.

Guided visit in Sesimbra

My recent visit of Sesimbra together with two professional guides was a great experience. This small fishing village is a delightful mix of rich history, vibrant local life, natural beauty and delicious fish restaurants. My guides were able to transmit their passion for the “Pexitos”.
