For the adventurer in us all, this kayaking experience in Sesimbra gives you an experience on the water you won’t soon forget. Travel across the 25th of April Bridge to get to the coast of Sesimbra’s Arrabida Nature Park and Luiz de Saldanha Maritime Reserve. Follow your guide in a kayak to explore caves, cliffs, and geological wonders.

What To Expect

Start your morning by getting picked up at your Lisbon hotel. You must contact your local service provider to verify your exact pickup time.

After everyone in your group has been picked up, enjoy a ride over to BORK & Haliotis Diving and Outdoor Center in Sesimbra Harbour. Get situated with a kayak, while your guide fills you in on what to expect on the water.

Hop in your kayak and paddle out to Arrabida Nature Park and Luiz de Saldanha Maritime Reserve. Once you get to the reserve, your guide helps you find your way as you explore the cliffs, caves, and other geological wonders.

Make a stop on Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo, one of Portugal’s most beautiful beaches. Have some time to relax, admire the crystal-clear waters, and enjoy a snack before it’s time to paddle back toward Sesimbra Harbour. At the harbor, your tour ends, and your guide drops you back off at your hotel in Lisbon.

Nice tour to experience outdoors in Portugal

The staff were lovely. We were driven out to Sesimbra by Raquel, who was so welcoming and we loved talking about Portugal and our experiences with her. The kayaks and equipment were great. There could be some improvement in communication. We all just stood there for a while upon arrival. It would be nice to have a briefing with some basic guidelines/expectations, such as 'Pedro's tour has about 15 minutes to use the bathroom and get snacks--our van will depart at 14:00, etc..." Most of the time I had more time than I thought and didn't need to rush around and panic looking for my group. The bathroom (just ome single a piece for M/W) were pretty lacking. I'd encourage people to come in their swim suits rather than change there. And definitely carry your own bathroom tissue. The route was nice, about four miles (for my fellow US travelers) or so roundtrip. The water was calm and a very pretty color. I am in okay shape-not great- and I made it okay. It would also be nice to have a few more small breaks to stop and look at the fish along the way. The beach was nice. The tour guide carries a 2L water bottle and will give you a cup or two plus a small granola bar type snack. If you didn't have a decent breakfast, you should probably buy or bring lunch yourself as it was a small amount. A nice way to experience some of coastal Portugal. We left at 845 and we're back by 245 pm.

First time kayaking and they were amazing to us. Highly, highly recommend. Got to go through a couple caves and a rest on the beach. Found it hard, but rewarding.

Absolutely worth the trip! Naiara and Lucas were really nice and Naiara was a terrific guide. The cliffs that we kayaked past were stunning! If you are up for a strenuous paddle (waves were half a meter the day we went), this is for you.

Lovely guides, but I would have strongly preferred single person kayaks. The weather was also quite questionable that day and there was rain and very choppy water with significant waves, so I would have preferred that the tour would have been canceled. Overall it was a fine time, but the implementation needs refinement. I now understand why we saw other kayak tours row out and tow their kayakers back in as the ocean currents can be a hindrance.

Annabelle picked a few of us up in Lisbon which was convenient for those travelling. I felt taken care of as we paddled along the breath-taking coastline, going under rock formations, and having a snack break at the beach. Annabelle taking photos and emailing us a link was a nice touch to commemorate the excursion. :) Would book with the group again when I visit next.

Fabulous kayak trip with our grown up sons. We were picked up from Lisbon and taken to their kayak centre and then kitted up with shortie wet suits paddles and kayaks. Great to have local guides to show us the local caves and beaches and explain the local geography. One of our favourite day trips. Many thanks!

We have a wonderful time with Miguel, who took my boyfriend and I for a 2hr kayak on March 1st. Everyone was incredibly helpful at ensuring we were both suitably dressed for the weather, and once we were on the water, enjoyed ourselves immensely. Miguel was very knowledgeable and shared a real variety of facts and stories; not to mention, just fun to spend a couple hours with! Would recommend this trip to anyone looking to get outdoors, spend some great time on the water!

This kayaking trip was spectacular. It was a great way to see the beautiful coastline of Sesimbra. Annabelle was our lovely guide and was super accommodating by providing us with a dry bag for our stuff, snacks, water and lots of information along the way. Would definitely recommend!

Despite only being two of us, where most companies would have cancelled due to insufficient numbers, we still went on our tour and had an amazing time. Carlos was a brilliant tour guide and after a quick intro session on land we were quickly paddling round the coast in no time.

We had an exciting day kayaking in this small fishing town. The sea was very rough but the kayaks were very stable even in rough sea. Beautiful scenery along the coastline. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. I would highly recommend this tour.

We were picked up at our hotel in Lisbon at 8.30am (to avoid trafic on Saturday) by our instructor and an interim. After a peasant drive to Sesimbra we got to change our clothes before starting the kayak trip. We kayakked into cliffs and through rocks with the expertice of our instructors. After an hour and a half we went to a little beach to enjoy the picknick that we brought with us. After which we kayakked back to shore. We spend about 3h on the water. After that we could shower and eat something in Sesimbra. We enjoyed the rest of our day in Cascais after our instructors recommended that to us. We would recommend this experience to others, it was a great day!

Fantastic experience. Joao is a fabulous guide with knowledge of the area and pretty much everything in Portugal. It might have been a bit expensive for our budget, but for a personalised u que experience, I think is well worth it.

Une façon merveilleuse de découvrir le parc naturel, au rythme de l'eau, nous sommes partis le samedi à 10h et pas trop de monde, c tellement mieux pour profiter. L'ocean est magnifique, ce une belle balade pas trop sportif et la guide super!!
