Itinerary
Receive an included pickup in the morning from your San Juan hotel, after which you’ll transfer by air-conditioned bus or van through a number of local Puerto Rican towns heading to El Yunque, one of the oldest forest reserves in the Western Hemisphere.
You’ll continue into the rainforest, heading to the first trailhead to take your first guided nature walk. Note: this is a low impact activity and does not involve any hiking. As you wander along the trail, your guide will introduce you to the exotic varieties of flowers and the fresh ginger that grow alongside your route. You’ll also learn about the reserve’s significance to the local Taino Indians, who have long considered the area as sacred.
Continue to the reserve’s El Portal Visitor Center, where you’ll have time to explore the exhibits including an elevated forest walkway, walking trails, and educational displays as you learn more about this unique ecosystem. Leave the visitor center behind and head to La Coca Falls, an 85-foot (26-meter) cascade that plunges down a series of rock formations into a shallow pool.
Then head to Yokahú Tower, a 69-foot (21-meter) tall tower offering unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside, plus a range of lush plant life like wild flowers, giant ferns, tropical hardwoods, and tree orchids growing nearby. After your stop at the tower, you’ll receive a transfer back to your San Juan hotel.

My partner and I decided to go to Puerto Rico for his birthday - his family is from & lives there and this was my first ever time. We went anted to do a low impact, scenic tour in f El Yunque and I cannot express to you how much lucky we were to have booked with Bespoke Lifestyle Management! Our tour guide Frank (Francisco) not only created an incredible experience with our visit to El Yunque, but pretty much set a positive tone for the rest of our trip. He was EXTREMELY nice, funny, personable, knowledgeable - and having done tours all over the world for so many things - we can 100% say he is the BEST guide to ever walk this earth! Honestly, if Francisco could have taken us around the entire island for our whole trip we would have done it. Thank you so much Bespoke as a company (definitely hit follow on instagram!), thank you for hiring Francisco, and MUCHÍSIMAS GRACIAS a Frank for being our guide!

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Francisco was knowledgeable and fun. This was a great way to see El Yunque for everyone as it wasn’t strenuous.

Great from start to finish! Our guide was outstanding and our group members delightful. The rainforest cooperated and we were blessed with long range views with just a few short showers. A wonderful excursion all around.

Francisco was great. Warm, personable, knowledgeable. I'm thankful we landed him as our guide for our day yesterday. Thank you-

Trip operator did a good job. El Yunque just isn't that impressive from a bus. We did the bus tour due to mobility issues.

This tour included hotel pickup, a drive to the visitor center with exceptional descriptions of everything, the castle, a waterfall, and a diversion to an outstanding local coffee shop! It had everything we wanted, plenty of time to look around and shop, and information about everything! Francisco was the perfect host and driver, and the trip was perfect for us. Not too much hiking but access to everything! This made us fall in love with Puerto Rico!!

Our guide was excellent and overall the tour was great
Unfortunately the transportation is a van and not a bus. Very uncomfortable seating

The stops we made were good and not too difficult. Our guide was very good and had a lot of information.

Frankie made this tour fun and educational. A great way to see and experience the rainforest if you can’t hike far. All the stops were opportunities to see the lushness and beauty of the rainforest and its importance to life on the island. Beautiful views.

Frankie is a great guide - knowledgeable and personable. The rain forest is wonderful, we’re happy to have seen it.

Our tour guide was amazing! He was so much fun and very passionate and knowledgeable about the rain forest and all its splendor. The pick up and drop off went without a hitch. It was an easy tour to navigate if you have mobility issues but offered a little more difficulty if you desired.

This was a great tour, our guide, Frankie, was outstanding! A lot of Puerto Rico history and views of El Yunque.

Fantastic learning experience. The guide covered ecology, biology and environmental topics at every stop and inbetween stops gave history lessons.
A wonderful trip and not strenuous for us older folks.

Freddy was the BEST tour guide we have had. He was very energetic and passionate about the rainforest. He was such a wealth of knowledge and fun. I would highly recommend him and this tour. We got off to a rough start with the bus having issues but he communicated with us and kept us updated on his arrival. I do feel that we were a little rushed trying to get all the sights I. But it was still amaxing.

This was a great tour of the El Yunque rainforest. I wanted a tour which didn’t involve much hiking or any swimming (I had another tour in the evening) and this was the perfect morning 2 early noon day tour. The forest and the waterfalls are really beautiful. The visitor center is nice. They had telescopes to look at the sun (I don’t know if it’s a temporary set up or not) which was very cool in addition. The views of the forest to the sea and to the mountains from the Yokahu observation tower are breathtaking. Frankie our guide was amazing, he really loves his job and made our tour lovely too.

We had a great time and saw many beautiful attractions. Our guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Highly recommended tour. We'll worth the price of admission.

If you want to just sightsee then go by yourself instead of a tour. If you want to learn about and experience what you are actually seeing then highly recommend you go with a tour group. Our tour guide, Frankie, was fun and knowledgeable of the Rainforest. He showed and allowed us to interact with the life forms in the forest, along with teaching us about the diversity (i.e., food, medicine, etc...) and history from someone who grew up in the mountainous region of Puerto Rico. He shared with us the culture plus made recommendations for other things for us to see and do while on our stay. Memorable experience with my wife.

Tour guide was excellent with his knowledge. Perfect amount of walking. It is like a stroll rather than a hike. We saw wonderful sights in the rainforest. Only downside was the passenger van we were riding in had at least 2 large leaks. It was raining some the day we went I and I know of at least another got wet. the water collected in the roof of van and then ran to the seam on both edges and let loose. I don't know how safe the lights and fans in ceiling were with the water collecting up their. Tour was great, van needs some maintence. Or don't sit in row 3 or on the end! Even thought I got wet in van I enjoyed the trip.

Frankie was a fantastic guide - very knowledgable and passionate about Puerto Rican culture. This was my 3rd visit to the rainforest and I had a little bit of a hard time choosing from all of the tours. We wanted something that was exploratory but also low impact - with some walking but not hiking. This experience delivered just what we were looking for and was exactly as described.

Our tour guide, Francisco was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and open to any question we had. The Rainforest tour was interesting and very informative. His extensive knowledge of all aspects of the Rainforest tour was very impressive.
Anne_M, Jan 2026
Frankie was a superb guide, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining. The tour includes the highlights, mild level of activity, and immense beauty.

For those seeking a relaxed visit to El Yunque, this is great opportunity! Our tour guide Francisco (Frankie?) was super friendly and knowledgeable. Very enjoyable (and included a stop at local coffee shop/bakery afterwards).
Pamela_H, Jan 2026
Frankie was a excellent guide! He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This was one of our favorite tours in Puerto Rico.
Laura_S, Jan 2026
Francisco was amazing- told us great stories and history of the area, especially after the devastation from Maria. The weather was perfect- and the sights were gorgeous!
Virginia_P, Jan 2026
We wanted a rainforest tour which did not focus on water slides, cliff jumping or rope swings. This tour was perfect! It focused instead on the rainforest itself!! Frankie was our tour guide and he grew up in the area, so we learned about the history of the area- agricultural deforestation then reforestation into the current rainforest, impacts of major hurricanes on people and nature. Frankie guided us along some nature trails with great explanations , we photographed a waterfall, drove up to observation tower ( with option to climb it-not difficult ) and had time at the visitor center and a historic swimming hole. Frankie learned everyone’s name in our small group. He was very knowledgeable and tuned in to the interests of the group. We learned about and experienced the natural environment and the animals, people and culture.
I highly recommend this tour-it was exactly what I was looking for in a rainforest tour.
Deja_C, Jan 2026
I booked this trip to kick off my birthday celebration. I immediately knew I'd made the right decision when Frankie pulled up in the tour van and gave me the warmest welcome, reassuring me that even though I was a solo traveler, I would not be alone on the tour. Frankie is an excellent tour guide - he grew up in the Rio Grande region and his love and respect for the rainforest rings clear throughout the tour. Highly recommend booking for travelers who are more interested in the flora, fauna and Indigenous history of El Yunque than water activities (e.g., cliff jumping).
