Fantastic tour. Bogdan was so knowledgeable. It was wonderful to have a guide for the monasteries, but also someone with a PhD in history to tell us about the region, who was born and raised in Suceava. We enjoyed a traditional Romanian lunch as well.

Do your homework if you should. The guide is willing and efficient anyway

The guide, Bogdan, was very friendly and helpful and gave me a lot of explanations about the monasteries and the history of Romania. He was also a good driver and the car was spacious and comfortable. The monasteries are really worth visiting: don't miss them!

Gabriel (spelling?) was an excellent guide and driver. The 4 monasteries and their gardens are amazing as are the countryside and villages. Did not feel rushed and it was nice to have lunch stop at highest point overlooking the beautiful Carpathian hills.

The tour operator was very knowledgeable and gave a thorough explanation of the frescoes' meaning. All in all it was a very pleasant day trip through one of Romania's most beautiful regions.

Huge Screw Up with No Refund

Viator had this tour listed when I searched for Bucharest and, at the time, the tour did not include "from Suceava." The tour operator reached out to clarify, but unfortunately, I was already on a plane and, by the time that I landed, it was within the 24 hours window where I couldn't take their advice to cancel myself. The tour operator told me to contact Viator, which I did. Despite the operator telling me to reach out for a refund, it is over a week later and Viator is STILL waiting on the operator to confirm the refund. Hence why I am posting this review here, since the operator has gone zero contact since then and taken my money with no services provided.

Our guide turned up at our hotel on time. He was pleasant and had a very good knowledge of the sites that we were taken to. The tour struck a good balance between enjoying the scenery and visiting a range of historic sites. The tempo of the trip was relaxed with time given to wander around the historic buildings independently. An interesting venue was chosen for lunch with a choice of traditional Romanian dishes.
