Unnerving visit to a packed beach

This was a nightmare excursion from the start. We had to meet the van outside of the port area. The first person said we didn't have a reservation, but the second person looked on the list and we were there. We were scheduled for a fun and sun day. What should have been a 25 minute trip turned in to a 90 minute sales pitch on how the driver could "take us to a better beach for just $10 each". Then he could "take us to see the sloths for more money". We were concerned that we were not going to be taken to the beach. When we finally arrived we were told we had to purchase something from the restaurant to get a lounge chair. When we told them no, we were escorted to a few torn chairs. The vendors were relentless as we tried to enjoy our short time there. We were so happy to get back on the ship. Absolutely would not recommend. The beach was packed full.

Our driver drove us around for about 2 hours to try and get us to buy things. When we demanded that he take us to the beach because some of us were getting car sick he took us to a very crowded beach on West Bay. There were no chairs available so we were told to go sit in the bar, have a beer and wait. We said we would just sit on the sand, and immediately chairs appeared though not together with other people in our group. Local people were constantly hounding us to buy things and didn't take no for an answer. Locals were selling food from a picnic table that had no refrigeration or means to keep food warm. Bathrooms were disgusting, in need of cleaning.
