The Rio Express tour includes : Guided tour of Christ the Redeemer (entrance included), Guided tour of Sugarloaf Mountain (entrance included), Specialized guide and transportation. Please note that there will be no refunds for changes to the tour format.

I wanted to see and do it all. This package made it possible. I saw things I’ve always wanted to see (Christ the Redeemer), I saw things I’ve never heard of (SugarLoaf Mountain), and I saw things for the first time (Selaron Steps), and then more….fantastic! The tour was informative and the guide gave you time and space to explore.

I wanted to give this 2 stars but we did get make it to all of the destinations eventually. Anyways, our tour bus was 2 hours late and their excuse was because they were having difficulty adding someone in a wheelchair on the bus. For one, the listing clearly says "Not wheelchair accessible" and two, NO ONE was in a wheelchair when they finally did arrive. It was a lie. Our meeting point was near the Selaron steps which we did not know until our tour guide told us to go take some photos and be back in 10min while he finds some other guests. If we would've known that, we would've been over there but at this time, you couldn't even see the steps. Way too many people by then! Plus the whole point of a tour guide is to talk about the destination, monument etc but that didn't happen.
We finally end up leaving 2.5 hours after the scheduled meetup time and we notice the tour guide STILL is not saying anything. We basically had a driver and not really an informative guide. He actually didn't start talking until maybe 5-6 hours into the tour towards the end We also started to notice that people started to trickle off of the tour because it was just THAT unorganized PLUS we noticed he was appearing and disappearing. Apparently we had a bus of other people behind us and the tour guide was hopping back and forth between buses!
When he finally did start talking about destinations, it was in Portuguese. He barely acknowledged my friend and I who had clearly confirmed and asked for an English guide. Sometimes he would blend English in there but it was 95% Portuguese.
We also ended up being late for the lunch buffet and literally got there at closing. They were nice enough to let us in but at that same time, it wouldn't have been a smart move to shut off consistent business with the touring company so I didn't really feel any gratitude towards it. Also, I'm not sure if this is on Viator or the company but it allows you to add in dietary restrictions and I added my friend was vegan. There was barely anything for my friend to eat at this buffet. I told the company and they stated that they don't accommodate dietary restrictions. Then WHY is there a box that says to fill in any dietary accommodations??
Overall it was highly unorganized from the start and we didn't really receive any historic dialogue on anything but we did make it to each destination.

The tour did well at getting us to the major attractions as promised. It did start a little late so Christ the Redeemer was very crowded by the time we arrived. Our guide was friendly but said his English was poor. He gave us information as to where and when we were to meet, but few facts of local color or history. He spoke Spanish and Portuguese throughout the tour so others may have enjoyed this additional information. We were satisfied with where we went but would have liked to know more.

The tour was basically as described - we stopped at every place mentioned. However it did not live up to the "no queue guarantee" and we had to wait for the guide to buy tickets and then line up in several places. We received some information about the city but the guide was just reading it out and we could have just used Wikipedia for such impersonal info. The guide seemed bored by having to give us info. The lunch was at the very end of the day (4:30pm) and we were starving by then. The guide really hyped up the lunch, however it was at a terrible cheap buffet and we were honestly too worried about food poisoning to eat more than a few bites.

The tour was great with all the sites to see as per the itinerary though the guide was not good. He was unclear in the timings and had 4-5 languages to deal with in the same group which did not allow us to understand the history and information on the sites.

The crowds and the traffic were out of control! Way too busy and the lunch spot was The Grill Inn was a buffet and the tour leader got a discount or kick back! 8 hours was a long time to be on a bus!

Visiting the top spots in Rio is awesome. Our guide Marcio made it fun and light with tons of information and useful tips and hints about the most beautiful city tucked in between the mountains.

Our guide spoke basic English, but at times I don't think she quite understood our questions. She gave very little information about the sites or even instructions on where to go/what we were doing and just generally seemed disinterested the entire time. We only had 25 minutes at Christ the Redeemer to fight through the crowds up the stairs, take our pictures, enjoy the view, and push our way back down and felt rushed the entire time. We thought she was going to leave us at Sugarloaf Mountain, as she kept mentioning we could stay longer and make our own way back, and kept disappearing and inching closer to the exit. She barely said goodbye as she left the van at the end. All in all, a very disappointing and awkward experience with the guide.
We did, however, get to see all the big sites of Rio in 1 day, which was a plus. The lunch buffet was way better than we expected. And pickup/dropoff was on time at our hostel and much appreciated. The van was very spacious and comfortable. Could be a great experience with a different guide.

Wir hatten eine Tour u.A. mit einem englisch sprechenden Guide gebucht. Da wir ziemlich die einzigen ausländische Gäste waren, waren die Erklärungen zu 90 % für die einheimischen Gäste auf portugiesisch.
Aud Nachfrage wurde uns gesagt dass der Guide schlechtes Englisch spricht.
Das Mittagessen wurde um 16 Uhr serviert. Teilweise war das Essen kalt.
Die Abholung aller Gäste dauerte 2 volle Stunden.
Für diesen Preis und die entsprechende Leistung eindeutig zu teuer.

Une guide géniale attentive très organisée anglais espagnol portugais et français...quelques mots très utiles 😉. Possibilité de visiter les principaux sites cariocas dans un minimum de temps.
Des billets des véhicules tout était prévu pour passer une merveilleuse journée dans la citée merveilleuse !
