Ragnar was a great tour guide. The tour had quite a few stops with sufficient time to explore. He was very knowledgeable and provided alot of interesting historical facts. The scenery was some of the best I have ever seen. So mant mountains, waterfalls and volcanic sites. Highly recommend taking this tour.

Beautiful scenery and countryside. Loved the waterfalls and mountains. The black pearl beach was wild! Tour is very long/tiring so know that up front. Plus dress for the wind and cold! We did but it was still chilly on the sea cliffs. Our tour guide Jon was very nice and helpful.
Huge thanks to our charismatic guide, Sigfus Thor! His wonderful sense of humor was the perfect addition to the tour, and thanks to his prayers, we had fantastic weather on 23.08.2026. He was attentive to every member of the group and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the day. The small-group format made the whole experience especially enjoyable. There was enough time for comfort breaks, and everything was very well organized.
Every location on this tour was absolutely breathtaking! A must-do! The seals looked as if they were posing for the delighted tourists, ocean waves crashed against the black rocks, and the glacier would sometimes hide behind the clouds, only to reveal itself to us again. Spectacular!
It was a wonderful experience! Dooley was amazing guide! We had our family and friends on the bus. 18 passenger, very comfortable van! Dooley took the time to answer all questions and give us info as we had our tour.
We took a picture with Dooley but I don't know if it got posted! Thank you for the great tour!
It was a beautiful day. We had fantastic trip. We saw so many breathtaking sites, really enjoyed. Our tour guide KALMAN was excellent.
This tour is definitely one not to miss. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the areas we visited and narrated with enthusiasm. The scenery of Iceland is 2nd to none and we certainly got to see quite a lot on this 12 hour tour.
Unfortunately, some things could be improved.
The audio quality was poor, so I couldn't really hear the narration.
From bus stop 12 where some passengers were picked up, we were transferred to other buses a short drive away, we then had to wait almost an hour, before departing. Then another hour before the first comfort break. Too long for some, including me, which led to some distress. I also suggest that guests be informed in advance about how often to expect a comfort break. It's hard to stay hydrated if you are constantly worrying.
It was around 1100am before our first proper tour spot, 3 hours after pick up time. Whilst I realise we had a long drive, not much fun for someone who had limited/no view out of a window.
I opted for the small group tour as I felt it would be more suited to my needs. Sadly, the bus was cramped and every seat taken. As a solo traveller, on a sightseeing tour, I would have expected a seat with a view. Not so. The seats were narrow, uncomfortable and there wasn't anywhere to store backpacks. I had mine on my knee. Also, nowhere to keep packed lunches cool. Why not a cool box or two? I also think that on such a long trip, the drivers could carry water for guests.
At the end of the trip the overriding memories are where we went and how I felt being fortunate to see such beautiful landscapes, but please consider the comfort of your guests.
Great value - you see lots of sights and the guides stop at multiple reststops so you're never feeling like you're without a washroom for too long.
A chance to see a wonderful part of Iceland. There are mountains, waterfalls, black sand beaches, lava fields, sheep, horses, churches and seals...what's not to love?! Siggi, our guide, made the day fun too.
We were incredibly fortunate that our guide Giuseppe is an actual geologist. So knowledgeable about volcanoes and was able to describe in detail the geologic landscape we observed. The tour was very well run and interesting with some of the most extraordinary landscape we have ever seen. And our driver was super handy with dealing with a minor medical issue. Would definitely recommend.
Having taken Golden Circle and South Beach, this tour was my favorite. Ottar was an awesome guide, very easy going, funny, informative, with a great curation of Icelandic music and stories. He also led us on some side adventures which was wonderful and memorable, and joined us on all the walks + knew everyone by name. Scenery-wise I do think this area is the best for a day trip, you get glacier and volcano and lava fields and beaches/ cliff views and waterfalls, feels like a miniature Iceland. The best part is that it's not as popular of a tour, so there's hardly anybody around. And you get to see some seals! Just the ride itself is just gorgeous mountain ranges, a truly special experience (even with some wind and drizzle)!
The tour to Snæfellsnes National park , My Kirkjufell, and Blavk Sand Beach will not disappoint. A must do when in Iceland.
This was an awful experience. I am an average sized male and the bus was so crowded that I couldn’t get my phone out my pocket or let alone eat an apple. It’s a very long trip to not be able to move. It’s not worth saving the money I would’ve paid triple to have more room. The bus was made to cram the maximum amount of passengers into the smallest amount of space.

Thank you for the honest feedback. We're sorry the comfort level didn't meet your expectations on this departure. For small group tours like this one, we use a passenger sprinter sized to the group. For larger group options, which are also available on our listings, we operate full coach buses. We appreciate you taking the time, and feedback like this helps us continually look at how we can improve.
An absolutely amazing day!!! Our guide Harald very informative and got us to all the beautiful spots!! Despite the rain, snow, and windy conditions, a great tour to see this majestic landscape. Highly recommend.
Thanks Harald for getting us there and van safely!!
Marieke has been a pleasant guide today. Showed us all the beauty around the west coast. Thank you Marieke.
Tom was great, super knowledgeable with the great sense of humor. And the music choice was excellent! And he sang for us!!! We tolerated his sarcastic jokes about America 😂😂🥲. We fell in love with Iceland!
Our guide was very informative and helpful. The wind was fierce but guide gave us plenty of time to see everything.
Most activities would be better to visit in the summer. We had a great deal of snow (can't control the weather) which slowed down the tour, but expectations vs reality should be considered when travelling late October and beyond...your experience will not match advertising pictures etc.

Hello Barb_G,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
We are sorry to hear that the wintery landscape did not fully meet your expectations.
Indeed, Iceland in late October and beyond can look quite different from what you may see in the summer photos, as the country quickly transforms with snow and ever-changing weather conditions.
While this might make travelling a bit slower at times, many guests find that this seasonal contrast adds a unique charm and authenticity to the experience.
It is always important to set the right expectations when booking tours during the winter months, as the conditions can vary dramatically, sometimes even from one moment to the next.
We hope that, despite the weather, you could still enjoy the beauty of Iceland’s winter landscape.
If you would like to share more details about your experience, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@bustravel.is, we always value hearing from our guests.
Kind regards,
Andreea
We were blessed to have a beautiful sunny day to explore the region. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area and provided a great touring experience
Fantastic experience! Beautiful beautiful countryside! Axel gave plenty of time for each stop and gave historical perspective of what we were seeing.
Loved our tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula! This was the highlight of our Iceland trip. Unlike other tours, you get to stop at so many gorgeous stops and it’s a packed day of exploring! Axel was a fantastic guide—friendly, informative, and excellent photographer. Highly recommend!
This was our first activity in Iceland and it rained all day. We were prepared with waterproof outerwear (a must in Iceland) so it wasn't too bad. The clouds and fog actually made for some really atmospheric pictures! Our guide, Alain, told us lots of stories and had great information to share about our surroundings and Iceland in general.

Ytri Tunga Beach is not elderly friendly. Have to walk past uneven rock surfaces. It was raining so is quite slippery. Another stop - need to walk 1km to see the Arnarstapi coastline.

Dear Anna_T,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are glad you joined us on this journey through the natural beauty of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
We are truly sorry to hear that some parts of the tour felt challenging, we understand that experiences may vary depending on personal expectations and physical comfort, especially in less-than-ideal weather.
Stops such as Ytri Tunga and Arnarstapi offer truly scenic rewards, though reaching the closest viewpoints can require a certain level of exploring the paths.
We do hope that the other stops along the way felt more accessible for you and that you were still able to enjoy the overall experience.
If you would like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to email us at info@bustravel.is, and our team will be happy to assist you.
Kind regards,
Andreea
There is a lot of walking involved-lots of it is very steep up and down. If you are unable to climb steps or steep paths you will not see all the sights
We travel a lot and after comparing all the top quality companies in Iceland for this tour, we found that Bus Travel has the best itinerary with the best price.
We had a really good time with our guide/driver Alain. Snaefellsnes is more beautiful with a good guide. Alain was funny, caring, a happy spirit and you get bonuses if you're good 😄. He's a linguist, historian, geologist and a comedian to us. I love how Alain would keep giving us useful information non stop throughout the tour, and bear in mind this is an 11 hour tour, and he hasn't stopped giving commentaries throughout. He's very well-mannered and he also brought us some licorice chocolate to try. How nice was that! He sang us a beautiful old song as well. We are lucky to have a very knowledgeable and caring guide like Alain. So caring that he will run to open the bus door when he saw someone waiting to get in, even when it's too early to get in to the bus. He also tells us interesting places in Reykjavik city at the end of the tour.
The itinerary itself was great. We pretty much covered most of the main attractions in Snaefellsnes in one day. We didn't feel rushed and everything was very well planned with a few stops for bathrooms and foods in between.
I would request for Alain personally if I were to go there again next time. He's definitely the best guide we could ask for.
The group is small, we had about 9 people and the bus is small yet comfy but the door didn't seem to work well with Icelandic's windy weather. Other than that we love every bit about this tour!
It takes about two hours to get to the snaefellsnes peninsula but totally worth it. Exceptionally scenic and diverse landscapes. This tour was well organized and smoothly executed. Highly recommend!
Nice itinerary. Beautiful sights .. we enjoyed it despite the bad weather. We even saw a few seals! !
The tour is pretty well coordinated! You got ample time to hangout at each of the stops. The focus is seeing and walking along coastlines to see the ocean and rock formations. Also the Kirkjufell is so impressive in person. Worth the trip and not too much walking at all.
This is one of the most fantastic days I and my family have ever had. The scenery was spectacular and the guide Beggy was fantastic. The van was comfortable.
I am happy I read other reviews before our tour so I knew that the start of our day would involve being picked up by one bus, going to a rendezvous location and switching to our tour bus for the day. As for our tour, our guide Sara wove engaging stories about folklore, history, culture and geology throughout the tour and played wonderful music to bring it all together. While one of the stops on the itinerary was not available due to construction, Sara quickly provided our group with a different stop and added in a bonus stop of a beautiful hidden waterfall. Our day also had lots of cute seals on the beach, amazing craters, basalt columns and many waterfalls.
Poorly organized. At Bus Stop 9 buses were late and it was all very chaotic. They took all passengers to another bus stop where 5 smaller buses with drivers were parked. Nobody seemed to know which bus was going where. Passengers waited in cold weather while the 5 drivers fumbled around. Extremely poor management.

Dear Jaswant,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Bus Stop 9 felt disorganized.
We would like to clarify that your pickup took place at 08:18, which is within the promised timeframe of 08:00 to 08:30. As part of our efforts to streamline operations and reduce traffic congestion in downtown Reykjavík, we carefully plan our morning pickup routes.
This means that guests are often picked up by a different vehicle than their main tour bus. By doing this, we avoid sending multiple buses to the same location, which helps keep traffic moving and minimizes disruption for everyone.
Once guests are gathered at a designated point, they are then efficiently assigned to their specific tour buses. Our guides and drivers work hard to manage this process smoothly and to minimize waiting times, even under challenging conditions.
If you'd like to speak further about your experience or share any additional feedback, please feel free to contact us at info@bustravel.is.
Warm regards,
Andreea
