A LOVELY BOAT TRIP PITY ABOUT HAVING TO FIND OUR OWN WAY

Marion_P, May 2024
Getting to the kiosk at 11:20 ready for our transfer at 11:30 only to be told we had to find our own way to the pier to get on the boat. When I booked the trip it stated that an air conditioned coach would be transporting us to the pier, which was included in the price. We eventually got to the pier but were told the incorrect bus stop to get off, which stopped at pier 16 and our boat was on pier 3b. Once we were on the boat the experience was very good. All the staff were attentive and there was plent of choice with regard to the buffet. There was both hot and cold food, as well as fruit and desserts. Again, on returning to the pier there was no air conditioned coach to return us to the kiosk. We were not very happy that what was advertised was not what we received.

Wonderful, fun time!

Great nice view of Prague Charles Bridge etc while dining lunch. Buffet was okay but drinks not provided. Cheesecake lack of cheese taste. Can chill on rooftop to take pictures. Lucky weather was good.

Exceeded My Expectations Many Times Over

BradleyGeorge_G, Aug 2021
The name of the boat is Grand Bohemian and it is pristine and a lot nicer than I thought it would be. The crew was very attentive and the food was bountiful and very good. Also, the old accordion player was a trip. A great way to spend two hours in a magical city

Disappointing

Dawn_C, Jun 2019
Although it was quite a pleasant float down the river, it was disappointing as there was very little talk about the places we were passing and much of what was said was not clear enough to be heard. It was obviously a tape recording that was on a loop and also repeated itself as we went one way and then back up. The food was OK, but no good for a vegetarian really. I don't think it was value for money this time - sorry!

Lisa D, Aug 2018
First of all, the driver who took us to the pier was rudehe didnt seem to like people. Secondly, the cruise is not really that nice...there is not much to see past the old town sights. The food was ok but on the ad, it said there would be live music. There was no live music. And the tour was in sevearl languagessome very loud and screechy in my ears. I didnt think it was worth the money we paid.

Stephanie_H, Oct 2017
I found the interpreter to be less than enthusiastic about being there. Also, too many varied countries were on board and the large group of Asians who were not involved in our group did not know etiquette and kept yelling, laughing loudly and chattering the WHOLE time the interpreter was trying to explain to those of us in his group what we were seeing. Less than an enjoyable time.

Kathryn R, Aug 2017
This was a great tour. Pick up point was easy to find, bus to the docks was timely, food on board the boat was delicious! Our entire group, ages 11-70 really enjoyed going through the lock. Only bad point was the bus does not pick you up from the boat. You must walk back to your starting point. A little difficult for a 70 year old who walks with a cane, but we made it

I_v, Jun 2016
We enjoyed the trip. The welcome on board was warm and we were very impressed by the lady who told us a lot about prague and its history. She spoke about 5 languages and I must say in a fluent way. Very impressive and she was most helpful and kind. I can recommend her as a trip leader in every way!

1. We tried to call the number...

Roy A, Apr 2016
1. We tried to call the number listed to find out about parking. It was 9 AM, nobody answered and the mailbox was full. I sent two emails and neither was replied. 2. We got there 15 mins early and it was rainy and cold. We are in our 70s. We asked if the bus with the driver was ours and was told to wait until called. After 20 cold minutes we were allowed on that very same bus. 3. As we were riding I asked questions and was told, lady I can't answer that until we get on the boat Again he replied, Lady I told you to wait, I've told you too much already. There were only 4 people on that bus and we were together. Later on the boat, I asked a question and was reprimanded for not paying attention! It was he that was not listening before I asked about something else entirely. My sister told him he was rude to which he replied, I know I am. After we found out that we were Americans and not British as he thought, he got friendly. By that time we had been so insulted and ill treated, we just looked at the scenery. Between the four of us, we have travelled to at least 50 countries and have never been treated so rude. We would not recommend your company to any of our friends.

I did think we would leave the city on this river cruise but we stayed within the city limits. Having said that I found it very interesting and informative. The lunch was buffet style with plenty of choice. I would recommend it to others

This excursion was exceptionally good!! The food was wonderful and tasty and the views were spectacular. We had unusually warm, sunny weather on November 6th and everyone in the group really enjoyed this excursion and seeing Prague from the river! Marilyn Byfield, Kelowna, BC Canada

Maureen K, Jun 2015
The cruise was okay, but not what I expected. It was great to hear stories about Prague, but our guide was uninvolved most of the tour and sat at the back of the boat drinking. I was also hoping for traditional Czech food, but the food was international - just lousy basic dishes, like school cafeteria food. If you walk along the river, you'll get the same idea, but without the cost.

RE H, Apr 2015
Outstanding view of Prague. This is my third visit to the city. I saw and learned more on this tour than on all my previous visits. The guide was brilliant. Arrangements from pickup to drop-off were very efficient. Buffet was extensive and delicious. I could not recommend this tour more highly. The brilliantly sunny day definitely helped!

This excursion was an extremely...

Nancy J B, Sep 2014
This excursion was an extremely negative experience because of the rude, hostile and strange behaviour of the tour guide. Throughout he was aggressive and when challenged resorted to finger pointing and raised voice. His exact words at one stage were" I am a 65 year old man, I have a doctorate from the university, I speak 10 languages, this is not what I do, I am not here to be your servant" Several times he refused to give his name. When his offensive behaviour continued we asked him too leave us alone - he refused to do this and followed us to the top deck insisting on giving his commentary even when we reminded him he was no longer welcome to do that. The only positive was that my friend and I met two lovely Australian ladies who were experiencing him in the same way. I was apprehensive as I was going on an excursion by myself the following day and if he had been leading it I would have called off - I didn't need to have worried it was a very positive experience that day !

This would have to be the worst tour...

TerriD, Sep 2014
This would have to be the worst tour I have ever done with the rudest tour guide ever. The tour started at Republic Square with a mini bus it take us to the river cruise. There were 4 of us. My friend Lyn and me from Australua and 2 lovely Scottish ladies. We were told to wait on to bus for the guide. He arrived about 10 minutes later looking frazzled and sat in the bus and spoke to the driver and intead of introducing himself and welcoming us he started with "I speak 10 languages and started talking about the buildings we were passing. We apparently went to pick up somebody else but they didn't turn up. So off toghe boat and on the way he told us that we would get a welcome drink and then the rest if the drinks we had to pay for and he also said that we would have to fund our own way back to the square at the end of the trip. We arrived and the boat we were ushered on to did not resemble the one on your website but looked liken old barge. We were told to site downstairs yourselves while in the other area there was a group of Italians. From then on it got worse - pen of the Scottish ladies asked the guide to tell us how to get back to the square. He rudely told her to sit down and wouldn't answer the question. She tried again and again got the same rude reply. I said to him that there was no need to be rude to her as she was asking a simple questions that we all wanted the answer to. He yelled at me "I am 65 years old and a University Professor" my reply was "I don't care if you are 165 years old you do not need to be rude to the lady". It got worse from there so I will just list all the things we did not like as it is too long to explain: - very rude guide - the boat was old, dated bad looked like a barge not a cruise boat - for most of the trip (at least 3/4 of it) we were taken to the industrial part of Prague - the food was average - a glass of water was the same price as a glass of wine

Ken_R, Oct 2013
A good way to see a different view of Prague. i have previously done the dinner cruise, but the daytime one gives you the chance to see much more as you cruise up and down the Vltava River. Great for photographers!

Ruth C, Jul 2013
Wonderful views along the river, good length of cruise. Food quality wasn't outstanding but as expected for buffet style.

Gayle J, May 2013
We didn't enjoy this cruise, there was nothing much to see along the river and the meal was not as good as it could have been. Unfortunately the weather was not good that day either. We would not do this tour again.

Never understood why we had to meet...

Lynda W. H, Oct 2012
Never understood why we had to meet in old town for a bus ride to the boat which would have been an easier walk than finding the kiosk near Powder Gate! When we arrived at the boat, we were totally confused as to where we were. I asked where we would meet the bus after the cruise and was told, very rudely by Vera the bus guide, that there was no bus ride back and that "it's not our responsibility to get you back". Fortunately we were able to figure it out after checking the landmarks and bridges. Crazy, this involved 4 couples, of course....we were all Americans! The cruise is just that, a cruise. No sightseeing guide, no commentary and at least 25 minutes out of the 2 hour cruise are spent going into and out of a lock where you can't see anything. The buffet lunch was nice, lots of hot and cold items to choose from....drinks are not included and, compared to how much you pay in Prague, are quite pricey. I would not recommend this tour.
