This was a truly excellent experience, we met at our craftsman’s studio in the old town. He took us through the intricacies of glass making and how the ovens and tools are used. He then showed us the sort of things we could make. I made a nice glass and my wife made a plate. There were some steps we couldn’t do for safety but we did as much as possible and it was a truly remarkable experience. My wife really enjoyed this, it makes a great gift.
We were able to pick up our pieces the next day after cooling overnight.
Absolutely brilliant experience. We all enjoyed it so much and have lovely glass bowls and a vase to remember it with.
David was talented and informative and never seemed irritated by all our questions. He showed us the process and was genuinely interested in helping us learn and create our own pieces. We assisted a little in the process but between the heat and talent needed, we could not have done it without David. He says his goal is to teach and continue to learn as he is not interested in going down the path of selling art. We had a great time and loved our creations. We picked out a bird and shot glass, chose our color, and tomorrow will pick up our memorable pieces.
Very good experience. Friendly and very acomodating to wishes of what to creat. Each experience was unique.
We were scheduled for Tuesday, 5 PM. When we got there, we were informed that the furnace was not working and we had the option to reschedule or do torch work. My wife and I agreed to reschedule to Friday but we were leaving on Saturday and could not wait for the glass to cool to claim it. They offered to ship it to Manila which worked for us.
On Friday, we arrived on time and were shown the working area. The person to guide us was a young girl who has been doing glass blowing for the past 7 years. I pick my color, green, and choose to make a small vase. It was mesmerizing to see her work wonders with molten glass. My wife chose to make a drinking glass. In half an hour, we were both done.
A little over a week, the vase and glass have arrived safely in Manila.
Wonderful time. The instructor was super nice and I love my piece. I thought it might be a little more hands on but it is appropriate for the time period you're booked for. Highly recommend if you've never had the joy of a glory hoke before
It was wonderful learning about glass blowing and the significance it is has in the history of Czech. It was not as much hands-on as I would like, but the pieces came out beautiful. Only 1 hour long class right behind the astronomical clock in Prague.
This was a really fun workshop. As a love of the reality series Blown Away, it was a dream to experience a real hot shop and make my own piece of art! Staff and instructor were very friendly, and I now have a very meaningful souvenir of my travels
