Don’t do the 3 stop tour between Porto and the Algarve

This is not worth it. Our guide although very nice, his English was terrible. I had to constantly ask him to repeat himself. He also apologizes for not knowing as much about the history and culture of the other guides Our guide set the pace of our visits. He took us to the first stop, recommended we do a couple of things and then we went to our second stop. At the end of the second stop he told us we wouldn’t get to the Algarve until midnight if we wanted to go to the third stop. So we opted not to go as it was already a long day. He said he didn’t know why they advertise a 3 stop tour as it was virtually impossible to go to three places in the allotted time. A lot of time was spent in the highway and the views were not particularly scenic. I’d recommend flying between Porto and the Algarve and just doing short excursions to the places you want to visit. This tour was not worth it for the cost and the little we actually ended up seeing.

In your case, the choice to spend extended time at the first two locations naturally made it unfeasible to include a third stop without arriving very late in the Algarve — a decision that was discussed and agreed upon during the day. The specific stops requested (Aveiro, Batalha, and Évora) also involve considerable distances, which further affects the schedule. Regarding the guide, we’re surprised by your comments. He is one of the most experienced members of our team, with consistently excellent feedback from previous guests. While his English may not be native, he always strives to communicate clearly and provide a welcoming, informative experience. His knowledge of the region is extensive, and he’s deeply committed to ensuring our guests feel comfortable and well cared for.
